Spa Moritz

Spa is closed. Out of business. Had an appointment for today– was not notified they closed a few weeks ago. Sad. Was a client for over 8 years. Have A $ 100 gift card — hopefully they will refund my money — but not sure how to get a hold of the owners. Too bad

DON’T GIVE THEM YOUR CONTACT INFO! I went for a facial 4 YEARS ago — I did NOT give them permission to contact me but have been inundated with emails since. I «unsubscribed» but they continued to send them. I contacted the owner in writing to have it stopped, but she still sends them. They sent another one today which prompted this review. The owner is insane. I’m not going to support that crazy nut job’s business.

Ridiculously expensive for the kind of service and massage we got. They called us at the last minute stating that there is an opening for a couples massage. We were shoved into a room so small that the two masseurs were taking turns to walk in the middle of the room. Talk about relaxing atmosphere! My Masseuse was good but the one my wife got was substandard and did not even get to the problem area that they had discussed before the massage. Then came the gift cards which were not honored stating that they cannot be used for couples massage. This despite us letting them know at the time of appointment that we want to make use of that offer. The owner instead offered to honor them on a subsequent visit. So ended up paying almost double the money then we had planned for. And yes, I am still waiting for the lemon water the front desk lady offered when we walked in…

Had enjoyed Spa Moriz for several years when the original owners started this beautiful spa. I felt services declined when the second owners took over a couple years ago. But earlier this year, ownership changed again — and its back to being a wonderful place. My son gave me a gift certificate at Christmas. I had no problem redeeming it, even though it was sold under the earlier ownership. I was totally delighted by Ke’sha’s heavenly aromatherapy massage and Jill’s mani/​pedi, which were a completely different experience than the typical nail salon. I enjoyed wine & cheese while having my pedi. And, I’m thrilled that the mani was still good over a week later (I always apply a new top coat a couple days afterwards). The ambience at Spa Moritz is truly special. Go early and ask to use the relaxation lounge before your treatment. That’s all part of the experience.

I did have a problem with the gift certificates and services, but Robin took care of it right away for me.

I visited this salon/​spa a total of 4 times over the months of October, November, and December. I was lucky enough to win a package of 6 spa manicures at a bridal show, and I didn’t have a bridal party. I chose to use them myself and take a couple of friends. The spa is very large, offering everything from haircuts/​styles, to mani/​pedi, eyebrow wax, massage, etc. The regular manicure price is $ 28, which is a lot for what you get.
The first time, I received the hand massage and scrub, and my nails looked nice but the polish was chipped by that night. The next time, I got another spa manicure with regular polish, and this employee was much more helpful and friendly. I also added on a pedicure at $ 45, which was nice, and my polish lasted several weeks. The third time, I got my nails done again but added the shellac for $ 7. This was for my wedding day and my nails looked great. I ended up finding that my nails were weakened greatly by the gel, so I went back to get it removed a few weeks later and a regular manicure done. For the same «spa manicure», I felt like the services provided were not consistent.
The girl I had was friendly, but she messed up my ring finger on my left hand! Because of the gel nails being on so long, some of my nails had grown up fairly long. Others were pretty short due to them breaking at the quick with the gel still on. I would expect that they’d be filed and trimmed, but she cut all of my nails pretty short. This ring finger was a little too short, and she also clipped the skin. I got an infection several days later, and it took about 2 weeks for that finger to not be in pain.
The place itself is very nice and professional, but the prices are fairly high for the product you are receiving.

I had a bad customer service experience at Spa Moritz and will not go back. I booked a brow wax and 80 minute massage. When I realized I would be 10 minutes late, I called to let them know and said I’d skip the wax so I could get the full massage. They told me I was fine, not to worry, which I understood meant that they would fit in both services. (There were no other customers there). The aesthetician waxed my brows and then gave me, what I realized upon checking the time after, was a 50 minute massage. I was surprised to then be billed for the 80 minute massage. When I pointed this out to the receptionist, she called the manager whose solution was to take 10% off the massage. So I paid $ 108 for a 50 minute massage. Which is more expensive than if I’d paid for the Brow wax + 80 minute massage and not had the brow wax.

This is a beautiful spa and salon located in suburban New Tampa off Bruce B. Downs. I got a gift card from a friend/​employer who recommended their facials and massages. In desperate need of a haircut, I decided to first try them for a trim– good choice! My stylist was helpful and very talented. She referred me to other spa employees for a facial, which I plan to do soon.
I was impressed by how welcoming and helpful all the people at Spa Moritz were to me. They cater to all skin and hair types and are upscale — yet down to earth and unpretentious, which is what I look for in a spa/​salon. I will definitely be back for more services.

I was scheduled to have a haircut with my usual stylist and when I called to confirm my appointment I was told that she was booked and unavailable. I knew this wasn’t the case so I called her cellphone and she said this was absolutely not true. Apparently there are huge management issues and lots of deceitful things being done behind the scenes. I will stay with my current stylist at her new location. I will never recommend Spa Moritz ever again. Totally despicable.

This spa is truly heaven! I wish that I could afford to go monthly! I have had massages, manicures, pedicures, and hair treatments done at Spa Moritz and I have been satisfied every time. It is so peaceful, they use great products, and the staff makes sure that you feel like you are #1! This is a spa is a must try!!!

What a great spa! Had a great experience with Angie, who did my pedicure and facial. They use great products and the atmosphere is very relaxing.
