Shrimp & Co. Restaurant

This is a special place hubby and I go to… We have made a lot of memories at this place so I may be a little bias. They do constantly have new staff but they have always been very pleasant. The food is delicious.

We came from West Palm Beach to visit family and once we saw they had aranitas on the menu we just had to stop by. The fried shrimp was excellent, and the ceviche was fresh. Will definitely return the next time we are in town.

This is definitely a place to check out. It may be a little hole in the wall restaurant but the food is down right delicious. The only thing I would not recommend is the Key Lime Pie.

Was in the mood for a shrimp basket & this place didn’t disappoint. Also pink sauce was delicious too. Service was good, waiter real cool

Everything was excellent. Crab legs and shrimp were very fresh. Loved the aoili dipping sauce for the shrimp. Service was on point as well, very friendly and efficient.

Excellent fried seafood! I enjoyed the crawfish and calamari appetizers. My wife and oldest daughter had the mouth watering lobster po-​boys. My youngest had the fried shrimp and I had the scallops platter.
Highly recommend this place for your seafood needs! Free parking in the back and side of the restaurant.

Odd experience… Not sure if it was the time of day we arrived, on a Sunday around 4 since I haven’t been here before but had wanted to check it out. First, no other diners! Great menu, cute atmosphere with their own lot in Ybor. But… no other tables, 2 servers and virtually no service?
After about 10 minutes the waiter took our order. We received our food but then there was no server in site when we needed something. Could hear possibly silver rolling behind closed doors, so loudly exclaimed «excuse me» and a different server appeared from a different closed door and provided what was missing. Really hated doing that, but no follow – up, drink refills etc. But amazingly server was alert as I paid the check!
Saw another review with a pic and think we had the same MIA server !
It’s really unfortunate because the menu was great and they claim they only serve fresh seafood, but since I ordered soft shell crab (which was great) it was also off– season. The fried clams was also delicious.
Will maybe try again!

Excellent! Ordered on a Sat evening for pick up. Softshell crab sandwich, it was out of this world! Super fresh and just plain good! My bf ordered the cheeseburger, burgers are not their specialty, but he said it was cooked perfectly and also fresh. We ordered the Mediterranean app platter, and onion rings. I do not gave a single criticism. The customer service was fantastic and the food was superb! For sure going back and definitely recommend to locals and visitors.

Best seafood in Tampa. The fried green tomatoes are perfect. The fried shrimp is perfect. I’ve never had a bad meal and the servers are always super friendly. It’s a total hole in the wall style place and nothing super fancy. But better than Oystercatchers and all of the overrated seafood places in Tampa. This place will not disappoint.

The salad and the veggies where good. The place looks great. But a bit bright there are lots of lights. No parking (it is Yebor). The beer was warm that’s not good. The plate size is small. Over all it’s a bit on the expensive side. Try it we may of hit it on a bad night it was very slow.

Oh my gosh this place is everything. The seafood is the best I ever had in my 28 years on this planet. N u definitely get more food than u can eat. Everything was great so I can’t even tell u what to order. N the server Jose was such a great server. Definitely coming back again even though I live 2 hours away

We ordered the shrimp po boy and the mahi sandwich. Very satisfied with both! Local beer options.

My family visited for the weekend, and there one request was fresh seafood, and Shrimp & Co. delivered! I’d never been to this restaurant so I was taking a gamble, and boy were the Gods on my side.
No one at the table had a complaint. We had dishes ranging from the seafood gumbo, fried shrimp, scallops, crab, shrimp pasta, and appetizers!
I’d definitely come back to this place without a doubt. We also had an AMAZING server named Michael :-) if you go there ask for him and I promise you you’ll have any even better experience. Entertainment + great food!

Disappointing lunch to say the least! I started out by ordering a sweet tea only to make a weird face to which the server came over immediately to see what was the matter. I had her swap out the tea immediately after explaining the strange after taste. I should’ve known then that this was the downward spiral to my meal.
Because Unilocalers were raving about the hush puppies I decided to give them a whirl and ordered a side to accompany my meal. They were the highlight and shining star of my lunch! Crispy on the outside and soft and sweetly flavored on the inside. These can be eaten perfectly alone or joined in perfect unity with the secret sauce — the choice is yours!
Their name is Shrimp and Company yet their shrimp was probably the worst part of my meal. I ordered the shrimp Po’Boy which comes with a weirdly flavored coleslaw and fries. The Po’Boy barely had any shrimp on it — mostly lettuce and secret sauce which was very good and tasted similar to a remoulade sauce. The shrimp were coated in a crispy batter which was very tasty however they were so over cooked they were tough — the only saving grace was the bread they were served in between and secret sauce they were slathered in.
Also like other Unilocalers I found that they were a little pricey however I will say they offered a 10% discount for anyone dining for lunch. Although my lunch was served hot, service was good and hush puppies were über yummy the shrimp did not knock my socks off which is sad considering they were the main attraction of my meal and reason I decided to eat here in the first place.

Great local feeling. Entertaining wait staff. Good food. Reasonable prices. Crawfish good n spicy! Family enjoyed the casual atmosphere.

This place has an amazing Florida basket that is full of shrimp, corn, potatoes, clams, and crab legs for under $ 25. It was loaded with at least 20 shrimp. You had to to take the heads off the shrimp, but they added amazing flavor to the spicy butter that they were steamed in. The service was great and the place was nice. I was the only person in the place, so at first I was hesitant. The food made it a great stay!

Although I’m from New England, I’m not a fan of seafood. I can handle lobster and fried clams but that’s about the extent of it.
So the times I have visited Shrimp & Co, I ordered either the fried clams, grilled chicken sandwich or a hamburger. The fried clams and hamburger were fine, the chicken sandwich is pretty good. French fries are decent also.
I’ve always received very attentive service here. They’re always quick to check up on things and refill my drink without having to ask.
The ambience is good for a seafood joint. It has a beach picnic décor. Not fancy but better than what you’d expect driving by it.
Tip: Check the chalkboard on the wall for daily specials and market prices.

We walked in at 345 and it was completely empty. However, reading the previous reviews, we decided to take a try. We got the mix and match Catfish and Fried Shrimp and for an appetizer we got the Deviled Crab Balls. The balls were fried a bit to. crispy but the taste was good. Also they were a bit spicy, so if you like spicy, this is your choice.
The Fried Shrimp only came with 4 pieces and 4 Pieces of Catfish. Pretty tasty.
I gave 3 stars because the décor could use ALOT of work. The benches are torn and dirty and the red and white checkered table clothes were very sticky. The air vents looked molded. Basically it needs a slight makeover.
The waiter was cool, but he seemed very tired, I guess he had a ruff day with such an empty restaurant. Anyway, I wouldn’t come back unless it’s to grab just a REALLY quick bite.

The spicy slaw with baby shrimp was delicious if you like spicy. The hush puppies was seasoned with chopped herbs, the onions gave it a mouthwatering salivating flavor. The shrimp and dipping sauce was so good. The shrimp basket is the smaller portion and the platter give you more of the same items. I had the Gulf Shrimp basket and wished I had gotten the platter :-) I guess next time! I also posted some pictures.

My momma bear comes here for lunch all the time and I decided to tag along this time.
I am not much of a seafood fan, but dang. For an appetizer I had the fried calamari with this lemon sauce that came with it. UGH it was so good. Wasn’t chewy and rubbery like most places.
For the entrée, I had the Mahi Mahi with the mojo seasoning, but it was a bit too saucy and salty. I asked if I could have it without the sauce and they delivered. Was very tasty and sweet after that.
They served local craft beers which was a nice touch, so I indulged in those too. Great place for some nice fresh seafood!
