Very fun and awesome general store located along Florida Avenue, just north of Hillsborough Avenue in the heart of Seminole Heights. The Seminole Heights General Store looks like an old-time farm stand — a much more authentic version of a Cracker Barrel old country store. From the outside you’ll see a tractor in the front yard, along with an assortment of colorful flowers growing next to the barnwood exterior. Up on the covered porch are pushcarts filled with fresh fruits and produce for sale. Inside the front door, and you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back a generation or two. The wooden shelves are lined with a wide mix of dry goods, cans, and containers — mostly local products, but a few national brands. There’s a great selection of hot sauces, salsas, local wines, and packaged goods. A couple of nearby coolers hold pre-packaged bait for fishing, while the other cooler holds a variety of sodas. Along the back wall is the kitchen area, and the ladies have freshly-made soups, salads, and sandwiches, as well as fresh-from-the-oven cookies and desserts. Right down the middle of the store are mismatched tables and chairs for those wishing to sit inside and enjoy their meals, and quite the assortment of antiques, handmade crafts and artwork. Up at the front counter you’ll find the owner who’s usually busy pricing items and visiting with her customers. Despite the«old-timey» feel of the store, she has a brand-new, modern iPad system for checkout.(Somebody call Brett, quick. I think they take Apple Pay!) This is a great spot to stop for a quick lunch, or to grab a few things on your way home from work. The Seminole Heights General Store is well worth a visit the next time that you’re in the area.

The turkey sandwich and stuffed peanut butter cookie was delicious. The store itself is a Hodge podge of things. I feel like they couldn’t decide what business plan to go with. It’s not quite a deli/restaurant and not quite a store. They did have some local goods food, soap and such. The food items were pretty overpriced. I just don’t see how this place can be around long.

This is about as ‘Seminole Heights’ as it gets! Ecclectic, cozy, cute, quality, service with a smile all the finest ingrediates that go into a Seminole Heights establishment which you will find displayed here! I’ve driven by several times and during a lazy Sunday afternoon drive I figured I’d swing by and i’m so glad I did. The produce was fresh, the bait didn’t have that overwhleming smell that screams live bait, and the cookies are HUGE! You’ll find a small selection of grocery neccessities, fresh brewed coffee from Costa Rica, local honey, and a scrumptious pulled pork sandwhich all under one roof! It is that rural hometown general store(with hot boiled peanuts yyyuuummm) but with that hipster flare that we all love north of Hillsborough. If you are in the area and need a little of this or that or want to pick up a low key lunch definately give this place a try!

I loves it. Lots of lovely benches, artsy decorations, a tractor, rocking chairs, herbs, large handsome produce, homemade oversized gourmet cookies at reasonable prices, a deli, baking mixes, soda pops and brewskis, and snacks, this is the place. Fun to visit and explore. Have a drink. Relax. Get some sweet potatoes. Take some pictures. This is a great addition to Tampa.

We had an ad-hoc«Seminole Heights Saturday» this past weekend, which kicked off here at the General Store. Just passing by on our way to meet friends at the Red Star Rock Bar, we decided it looked interested and pulled in. Soups, salads, sammiches, unpasteurized milk, eggs, soap, whatever. It was basically just a small convenience store, but with non-commercial items. Very cool little spot. I picked up a mojito soda and peanut butter volcano cookie, which is accurately named. Might have been the best peanut butter cookie in the world.

Great local spot. They are a cross between an old time five and dime and a local corner store. I went in for some ice cream but left with a milkshake. You could say I was up sold. I was made a fantastic Nutter Butter /banana milkshake. It could’ve had a little bit more of a peanut butter taste but it did taste great. I also noticed the bakery display case and promptly ordered a double stuffed peanut butter cookie. 4 stars because I had a wait a bit to order and their wine and beer selection could be better curated.

Every time I walk in to this place, I love it more and more. Every visit the owner/staff have been so genuine, friendly, warm, and welcoming. That alone would keep me coming back — even if they didn’t have cookies(but the cookies help!) :-) The store sells produce, bait, antiques, and miscellaneous basic home products. They also have a sandwich window with a small, but delicious, selection. Soup, salads, ice cream, and chili are also available. My first visit, I wandered around, looked at the odd collection of items they had for sale, had a delicious cookie, then wandered out. My next visit, I went straight to the sandwich window for an egg salad sandwich on a Kaiser roll. While I was waiting, one of the women working behind the counter asked me if I would like to try their soup of the day — a collard greens, bacon, bean soup — yes, please! It was so incredibly delicious, I immediately cancelled my order for chili, and changed it to soup. My egg salad was so flavorful, and huge, but of course, I managed to devour the whole thing. Also this visit, they had cookies coming out of the oven, and the smell was so amazing I had to get 3 of the peanut butter stuffed peanut butter cookies. These were some of the best cookies I have ever had — and the people I shared them with thought so, too. My most recent visit, I tried the chicken salad, and a «breakfast cookie» — sugar cookie topped with maple icing and candied bacon. Again, the food was awesome. And did I mention cheap? The cookies are $ 1.25, and the sandwiches are $ 5.25, and come with a small side of potato salad. Support small local businesses and come give them a try. The cookies alone will make it worth your while!

I was thoroughly impressed! Little town feel to the produce market/general store. It was refreshing how polite and courteous the staff was. Clearly from a time gone by,(as a good thing.) I would highly recommend to anyone not wanting the city feel from a general store.

Just North of Hillsborough on Florida… little red store with produce displayed on porch. As a general store, it offers and eclectic assortment of goods… from live bait to ice cream. The fresh fruit and veggies were the draw for me, even if they do not have the deep inventory of the supermarkets and prices are not notably lower. But you can also get a limited menu of deli sandwiches, some antiques, hand-thrown pottery, ice cream cones, and even a few bottles of wine and motor oil. I did not spot any kegs of nails, pickles or seed corn. Nice to have a little place like this in the neighborhood… give them a try and wish them well.
