Salem’s Gyros & More

Very slow service. Everything is cooked to order so I guess that is to be expected. All seems to be fresh and hot. No complaints on the food.

I was hungry and got the gyro combo with the drink and fries and was not disappointed. It was very filling! Next time I would just get the gyro because I was full from just the gyro itself. I forced myself (I know, big no no) too eat the fries because I’m not one to throw away food.
It was also interesting to people watch. Just don’t stare too long lest you want some unnecessary roughness.
The only thing missing was more sauce and veggies on my gyro. That’s why a star is missing.

Salem’s is really one of the best places if you’re a fan of hot and crispy fried food made to order. All of the other fast food places are really hit-​or-​miss when it comes to freshness and food taste but Salem’s is always on point.
I personally order the shrimp and fries every time. It takes a few minutes for them to get your order ready but it’s worth the wait. The shrimp are always hot and crispy with really well seasoned batter on the outside and sprinkled with Old Bay seasoning. A slice of lemon comes on the side as well in case you want to give them a twist and let me tell you, you do! The fries are also as described in other reviews, perfectly crispy and salty on the outside and soft in the middle.
They make everything so fresh it’s not unusual to see places in the food boxes where it’s melted a hole! But seriously, too fresh? Does that term exist? Try them out!

Pretty clean place unlike Nicks down the street. You receive 6oz of meat on a Gyro. Tomato wasn’t ripe on the Gyro. Gyros could have been hotter. Not bad overall.

Great hot fresh fish sandwiches and gizzards. Cooked to your order. Seasoned well. Very delicious for fast food. I will recommend this restaurant. I have noticed that their food choicrs have expanded a bit. I haven’t tried too many of the other things offered but I have stuck with what I know is tasty. Yummy!

It’s hard to believe that once you could make 2 gyros out of 1 with the amount of meat you got from this place, but now you would be lucky if the meat outweighs the onions. I purchased 2 gyros to go and when I get to work there are 3 strips of meat & ½ a cup of onions in my sandwiches. I felt ripped off but I was not going to drive back to complain. I like their food but this location has to be the worst one in their franchises. The gyros were made sloppy & skimpy. All onions & sauce and they were also cold. From now on if I’m in their neighborhood I’ll go to Nick’s Gyros up the street.

A friend and I went to this place… and I was sooo not impressed at all!!! I went on rave reviews from some co workers and had my mouth set for some good cooking and got this. Now I have eaten worse but for all the hype this place was given… it fell very short. We drove almost 40 mins to get to this place and was let down greatly. They advertise milkshakes on their website and menu but do not sell them… what the heck is up with that?!? Needless to say I will not be going back!!!

I love the food here, and I am sure if you come here you will feel the same way I do. They have everything from Philly Cheese– Steak, to my favorite… hot wings. I am sure if you come here rather it’s for a mid night run, or a full on dinner you will not be disappointed.

The buffalo wings by themselves are nothing less than 5 stars. I’ve tried a few stuff on the menu but the wings are really the reason to come here. You can’t get these wings anywhere else… There’s nothing better when you have the munchies. Wings and fries 11.99 deal is a terrific value. Its one of my guilty pleasure.

Salem’s has it going on!
It’s Sunday afternoon, we’re in someone else’s neighborhood, and we’re hungry. Throw a picky six year old on top of that and the pickins start getting slim.
Thankfully my hubby brought up Salem’s. I popped up the Unilocal app and it was right down the street.
Parking wasn’t bad, the line wasn’t long, and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. They may look like a fast food place but their food is definitely better than that.
I had the Po Boy Shrimp Sub and when our order came up I was pleased to see it. My sub was stuffed to the gills with seasoned shrimp, mushrooms, peppers, onions, tomatoes, and a generous helping of melted cheese. It was mouthful after mouthful of messy heaven and definitely one of the best subs I’ve ever had. Ever.
The side of fries was stacked high and seasoned perfectly. They were hot, fresh, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. My idea of how fries should be.
I’ll definitely be back here next time we’re in town, but we need a Salem’s in Oldsmar. Stat!

This place is right next door to one of my medical customer’s office, and today was the second time stopped in for lunch.
The neighborhood isn’t the best, so I was not expecting much on the first visit — but it was great– and the second visit was great, too!
This must be the cleanest, most efficient, and friendliest «quick food» place within miles. In addition, if you look at the floors and counter tops behind the register area, I think you will see that this place is cleaner than most people keep their own house.
My second visit today confirmed that this place is consistently spotless, and the food is really good. You get a great portion for your money here.
I ordered a half pound of fried shrimp, and asked the manager (that took my order at the counter) if I could have rice and beans instead of french fries…“No Problem!“
I thought I might be charged a little extra for subbing the beans/rice…that didn’t happen!
The rice and black beans were excellent, piping hot, and covered half the plate. (see the photo) and the shrimp were fried perfectly with a light batter (I think they batter the shrimp on site)…both nearly burned my mouth they were so fresh and hot.
My only wish is that this Salem’s was closer to home.

Great Subs and Tasty Wings. Fast drive through and they’re open laaaate. ate here a couple times and I must say its a neighborhood favorite. My family eats here and after my introduction — I am going here often too. Their chicken gyro was a bit small and not as tasty as the authentic greek I’m used to. but it’s alright in a pinch. Their salads are big but mostly iceberg lettuce. best to order meats and get your veggies at the supermarket to accompany it.
