It wasn’t a very busy night, but we waited 40 minutes for our food. Ginger chicken with quinoa and edemame. Food was good, but not worth the wait. Apparently somewhere forgot our order and then a rush came in

Pei Wei is owned by the same company that operates PF Chang’s. I vastly prefer Pei Wei to PFC. While there are several choices that are not covered in batter you still might be surprised when you look at the nutritional content of the dishes. For example, a small order of the ginger broccoli chicken has 2400 mg of sodium(your entire day’s recommended amount) and 18 grams of sugar according to their website. I do like that you can get your order with brown rice. Their online ordering process is actually excellent and their rewards program lets you occasionally earn free meals. You can store a favorite order for the future, which means that I can pull up the website and have my order set in less than a minute. However the best web presence in the world doesn’t matter if the restaurant itself can’t keep up with their orders. I have been frustrated with how long it takes to get my to-go order once I get to the restaurant, but my latest(and last) visit was beyond ridiculous. I was at the restaurant at the time the order said my food would be ready. It was ten minutes before I could pay. Then I waited another seventeen minutes for my food. So I was standing there for almost half an hour AFTER my food was supposed to be ready. For some reason they removed the wooden stools that were by the to-go order door. Maybe they don’t want you to be comfortable during your long waits? There was no apology when I got my food either. I might put up with this frustration if the food was amazing but this is chain restaurant food. I’m done with ordering from here.

Honestly, I love pei wei. But it blows my mind that I call in an order, they say 20 min. I show up 30 min later and wait for 45. An absolute joke.

Normally I am a fan of Pei Wei, we have been to several other locations and have left very satisfied. This location is an exception… It is by far the worst Pei Wei I have ever been to. After we placed our order at the front and go pick out a table we notice the majority of the tables were not cleaned off. The restaurant was basically empty(only us and 2 other tables), no workers were attempting to clean off anything. The floors were also very dirty. The drink station was also an issue because both dispensers were out of both Coke and Root Beer. The utensils sitting out in the open containers looked filthy so I asked for plastic silverware and they obliged. Now to the food… which the server brought out one at a time for some reason and each item was brought out about 5 — 10 minutes apart. I understand the food and ingredients is essentially the same at each Pei Wei, so the only way to mess up is in the execution and presentation… and boy did they mess up: First that came out was the egg rolls — which at a normal Pei Wei are crispy and tasty… What was brought to us was a greasy soggy mess on a greasy plate. Gross. 10 minutes pass… next item was my husbands order Pei Wei spicy with chicken. Normally his favorite dish, but what was brought to us was sloppily hanging off the plate and again super greasy. The breading was coming off of the chicken and the rice had an off flavor… Kind of tasted like cooking gas or fire, it was weird. 5 minutes pass… the server brought my meal which was the Thai with chicken. Not sure how it was supposed to taste because this was my first time ordering. Again the presentation was sloppy with sauce running down the plate and some veggies that I think were part of my husbands order. The flavor was very acidic and again the rice had that weird fire/gas flavor! Another 5 minutes pass… and she finally brings out the kids meals(which should have been brought out first) though they were not given to us at the same(even though we ordered the same meal for both kids) a few minutes passed between each delivery. They ordered the noodles with chicken, which is what they order at every other Pei Wei and usually love it. These meals again were brought over looking like a sloppy mess with noodles hanging off the side of bowl and dripping down. The noodles tasted of straight up grease the the chicken was oddly hard in some spots and the breading was half off. We quickly got out of there and will not return as this location it’s the worst Pei Wei ever! Waste of $ 35! :(

If you want Chinese food but don’t really want the Chinese regular NYC style place, this is the place for you. Service is quick and almost feels like a fast food place. Quality is superb and portions are really nice. It can get kind of loud since the kitchen is open. There is enough parking that you never have to wait for a spot.

I’ll start this off saying that I’ve visited another Pei Wei in the area a few times before, and had a hankering for some decent Chinese. It had been quite some time since I’d been to Pei Wei so figured I’d give this location a shot since it is much closer to home. I went in and ordered at the counter pretty quickly despite about 5 people hanging around waiting on take out orders. I ordered the Pork Egg Role and Pei Wei Spicy Chicken. The order taker was quick and I was actually impressed that my food was ready before the 15 minutes I was quoted. When it was ready another person behind the counter called the wrong name and I had to clarify that it was my order as this person had added letters to my name so it didn’t even sound the same. Anyhow, much to my surprise when I got home the Egg Roll was swimming in a layer of oil. I took one bite and it was saturated in grease and I could not even finish it. That was $ 1.99 wasted. Then I tried the entrée and the chicken was so thickly breaded that it had clumped into fist sized pieces within the box. I would have had a better meal at a fast food Chinese restaurant. Total lack of quality and value.

I like this place because it is easy to order, fast, and the food honestly tastes fresh. I won’t say it is the most flavorful Asian food I’ve ever had because it isn’t the case… But considering the cost and the quality… I don’t mind popping in every once in a while.

Fresh and fast… counter ordering… simple…they keep it clean inside and the prep station is in plain sight so you can see them cook your food. Have recently added more items like sushi appetizers which seemed popular and looked good

I could eat this stuff every day. I’ve tried several items and my favorites are the tofu pad Thai, and the original lettuce wraps! Sushi also good! The only thing that I would critique is that the portioning is extremely inconsistent on the noodle bowls. Still delicious, but it would be nice to know how much food to expect.

This is a causal dine in restaurant. You come in and wait in line to order. Not a very extensive menu then sit and wait for your food. We started with the spring rolls which are so good. The sauce pairs perfectly with these crunchy rolls. I got the Mongolian beef which is delicious! I’ve been here a few times and always get the same thing. You can choose between a small and large portion. It’s also decent for children as well. My daughter got the noodles with chicken and even with her picky appetite she ate it all! Don’t forget to pick up your fortune cookies on the way out!

This place has gone down the tubes. Smaller portions, warm — not hot — food and an apathetic staff. I’m done. Been coming here for years and I’ve seen the slow quiet implosion that’s happening here. How can you serve WARM(on the cold side) food when there are only SIX people(including me and wife) here?! NEXT!

Pei Wei’s is an incredible Asian restaurant with food that is decadent! I love the Mongolian Beef but everything on the menu is something you have never tasted and must experiences. The establishment is in the Northdale part of Tampa but would travel miles to eat there. Courteous staff and reasonable prices. They do have alcohol but soft drinks and Asian Tea is awesome.

It’s rare that I will go somewhere and literally not find one redeeming quality. But I have! This is about as «Asian Inspired» as Taco Bell is Mexican inspired. And worse!!! It’s pricy!!! You could go to a chinese fast food joint and get better food, more food, and still have money in your pocket. I will never step foot in here again. And they don’t even have Sriracha. What the heck.

Good Chinese food. Not like other Chinese restaurants but definitely a good kind of different. They’re like a fusion-Chinese dining experience tho. They have some rolls(which are Japanese) and bowls that have several flakes outside normal Chinese cuisine flavors like Mongolian, Cajun and etc. but it’s great cause you get to have a touch of other cuisine flavors with a main Chinese dish! It’s also cheap so that’s a plus!

I’m hesitant to write a review for Pei Wei because I absolutely detest Asian cuisine(excluding the Indian subcontinent and the Greater Middle East which have the best food in the world). I come here because my father adores it. It’s not that the food here is bad or that the service is bad or that the prices are too high, it’s just that everything is «not bad», and that’s all it has going for it. So far, every dish I’ve eaten has been«not bad». Nothing has really been definitely«good» that I would reorder. Meals have been delivered to the table cold because the kitchen rushes to get everything out as fast as they can. Sometimes the steak isn’t hot in the centre because the chefs rush to get everything cooked as quickly as possible. My rice is always cold. Sushi is rushed out so quickly that it’s always served to me a mess with soy sauce splashed all over the plate. The only dish I really enjoy is the Pad Thai. The«free cookie on your next visit!» is an annoying gimmick to get you to come back, but you can easily exploit this like I do. First, order your drink and sit down. When another cashier comes up, present your receipt for the drink and order your appetiser and get your first cookie. Then, when another cashier is up, get another cookie by ordering your main course. This is very easily exploitable when you have a larger party, but watch out the staff doesn’t catch on to you eating all their cookies because of their gimmicky reward system! If you’re interested in an upscale«golden wok» and don’t want to pay PF Chang prices, this is probably worth visiting. If you’re looking for asian cuisine, I’d suggest you visit a Japanese or Indian restaurant instead, especially if you want good sushi.

Love Pei Wei! I usually get the Mongolian beef entrée or the teriyaki chicken entrée. I love the new addition of sushi rolls to their menu. Being able to order my food online and specify the exact pick up time for my take out is extremely convenient. I’ll definitely return to Pei Wei in the future.

A friend of mine was coming over to hang out and we decided to get take out. After going back and forth between a few options, I suggested Chinese. I had another place in mind that was a little more authentic in mind, but she said she knew of a good place on Dale Mabry. In an effort to be a good friend, we went with her choice. As we pulled into the area, which was familiar to me as it’s not too far from my home, I realized this was not what I was expecting. I thought we were going to some hole-in-the-wall Chinese takeout place, not a chain restaurant! Nevertheless, we went through the door marked«Take Away» and glanced over the menu displayed on two large screens. I immediately regretted my decision to come here. Let me preface this by saying that I admittedly am a very picky eater. I have a hard time at ethnic restaurants because it’s very hard to tell what will be in a dish that I’m ordering. The menu at Pei Wei is set up so that you pick your protein, then your sauce, and either rice or noodles for the Wok Fresh entrees. I asked the server if there was any way that I could just get plain chicken with no sauce over noodles. She said that would not be a problem, as if they regularly get this request. My friend ordered the chicken with Kung Pao sauce. We were told that our food would be ready in 20 minutes, so we went out and returned to pick it up. Once we arrived at home, I was sad to see that there were vegetables mixed into my order. Yes, I could pick them out. No, I did not want to. I still ate most of my meal and it was okay. My friend seemed to enjoy hers. If I had one suggestion for this establishment, it would be to add a garlic sauce or maybe a butter/oil blend for those who just want a basic option. My rating might be harsh, but Pei Wei is simply just not for me.

Pei Wei is interesting. I like the Mongolian beef and the new wasabi tuna sushi was surprisingly good, but the Pei Wei Spicy is meh. Great laid back atmosphere. Decent service. I’ll be back when I’m in the noodle mood. Just not blown away.

I absolutely love this place. This is a good place for Asian bistro type of food, where you can try something from many different countries. I love the way that they cook the mushrooms in their Korean dishes and always ask my wife if we can go there. I’ve tried many different things there, but tend to go back for the Korean food that is to die for. The food never take very long to get to the table and you don’t have to worry about getting up for the food. After you order they bring it directly to you, it’s a great concept. Love this place and will continuously go back again and again.

Pei Wei’s is one of my favorite«chain» restaurants. I come here for lunch every few months because I know it will be good. I have tried many things on the menu, and I love that I have the option to get almost any dish with vegetables and tofu instead of steak, chicken, or shrimp. I also like that they regularly put new dishes on the menu. Today’s newest item I tried, and enjoyed, was the Thai Chicken Lettuce Wrap. I get their regular chicken lettuce wraps frequently, and this version of the chicken wrap definitely had a distinctly different flavor. As always, crisp lettuce was served with the chicken to roll it in. Their soda fountain is great here — it has all the standard sodas in it, with the option to add different flavors to them — like with Sprite Zero, you can add peach, raspberry, strawberry, cherry, etc. Complimentary fortune cookie to finish the meal, and I leave full and content.
