I come here just about every morning of my life! Delicious NY style bagels. Friendly group of guys working every day. I eat an everything bagel, and my wife enjoys the blueberry. It’s definitely not your average bagel — 5 star bagel

Enter as strangers, Leave as family. The bagels are amazing, there isn’t one thing that I’ve had yet that I didn’t love. Great neighborly feel, every time I stop in I’m still amazed at how friendly they are. This is the greatest little gem in Tampa.

I decided to try this place this morning because I was looking for something quick and nearby. I found it one Unilocal.I called in the order so that it would be ready once I got there. Whomever they have taking orders was abrasive and seemed annoyed on the phone. He didn’t even take my name down (doesn’t seem efficient). Once I got there, I was really pleased by the location. What a beautiful area! Once inside, my wife and I waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged. There was no indication or sign of where to stand or go to pick up an order. There were just a bunch of people standing at the counter. The workers seemed very unpleasant and unenthusiastic. I would never ever bash a small local business (that’s why I gave it 3 stars). This place is bursting with potential! I truly wished the employees were more inviting. I’m really insulted when business’s use the excuse «we are too busy» to offer decent customer service. I’ve been in the customer service industry my entire adult life. It takes a second to say «good morning» or smile at a patron. What a terrible first impression. The bagels were pretty good and so was the iced coffee. Unfortunately, the whole experience was overshadowed by the lack of ability to offer some kind of customer service. I wanted to like this place so bad. I’m such an easy person to please. I won’t be coming back. I left feeling almost embarrassed. Please try this place. Maybe you’ll have a better experience. It really is a great area.

Tried this place out today and it was beyond amazing! The bagels were so fresh and full of flavor. Told my boyfriend we will be going here a lot more often, a little out of the way for me but so worth it!!! Try it out guys you won’t be disappointed if you want a good New York bagel!

Holy Bagel! I have to say, the only BAD thing about NYB&B is that I found it, love it, and now I’m going to gain 20lbs from eating bagels several times per week!
I am a bagel fiend. I am completely obsessed. I’ve yet to have a truly delicious bagel in Tampa (or Florida for that matter, I’m from Philly). We recently moved to Northdale area and I decided to pick up some bagels for my husband and I last weekend. Went here around 8am on a Saturday and it wasn’t busy at all. I was promptly greeted and ordered 3 bagels (I’m ashamed… I got us each a bagel with cream cheese, and a bagel with bacon, egg and cheese to share because I just couldn’t decide). $ 8 and change for 3 huge bagels, seemed very fair.
Raced home to get them in my mouth and almost died of deliciousness! They are so, so good. Now I’m addicted and each day that doesn’t start with a bagel from here is a day I wish I didn’t even bother getting out of bed.

I used to work in this plaza, and I often walked over for a peanut butter bagel. I once tried a bacon, egg and cheese bagel and it was pretty rough. Bagels are delivered frozen and the bacon and eggs are microwaved. If you’ve never had microwaved eggs, they’re special. Scramble some up in a bowl, nuke ‘em and watch them turn from yellow to a brownish gray. And the texture becomes somewhat rubbery. I know this because my pops used this method to make «perfectly round» scrambled egg sandwiches when I was a kid. And thanks to that childhood experience, I recognized what was going on here at New York Bagel & Bean. And from that fateful day forward, I stuck with ordering a plain bagel with peanut butter.

Bagels, who doesn’t love them? As any carb appreciating individual can agree with, bagels are pretty great. That being said, any bagel lover should have a reliable spot to grab one of their favorite bread The staff at NY Bagel & Bean are outstanding and deliver a great customer experience. When you enter the door you are greeted with a warm smile and friendly conversation.
A variety of fresh and tasty bagels are available each day and there are a wonderful assortment of sandwiches and preparations both made on bagels and bread. One of my favorites is the classic Reuben sandwich which is very tasty. There are refrigerated drinks as well as iced tea and an assortment of coffee available. Dinners are also offered on select weeknights, usually Tuesdays and Thursdays, but please check and inquire about the dinner selection with the staff to make sure. In the past there has been
dinners of lemon baked chicken and potatoes, lasagne, French dip sandwiches and Greek pastichio (Greek-​style lasagne). They are open 7 days a week and offer catering for parties and weddings, etc.
The resturant is clean, bright and well decorated, with nice artwork and décor. There is parking in the retail center where they are located on the first floor. If you want a family owned local spot to get great customer service and grub NY Bagel & Bean is your spot!

Best bagel place in Tampa so nice and so delish!!! Great service and great food! I would eat their every day if I could

I’m always searching for good bagels and good deli’s that would at least come close to NY. It’s kind of hit and miss here. This place has decent reviews and was nearby so I figured I’d give it a shot. It’s in a cute little plaza, the store itself it’s nice and seems clean. I’ve been craving a good bacon, egg, and cheese so I got that on a bagel. The only thing I’d go back for is the bagel…
Usually deli’s actually cook your food. But I actually sat there and watched as my eggs were microwaved like a frozen lean cuisine meal. The bacon was pre-​cooked and micro’d as well. Kind felt like I might as well be at Subway. There were maybe 6 customers in the store so it’s not like they were busy.
Well I took a bite when I got home and, as you can see in photos, the eggs were grey. I ended up peeling everything but the cheese off. I ate a cheese bagel for breakfast…

I’ve got to say this is my favorite bagel on this side of town. I’ve only been twice but this morning’s heated everything w cream cheese was amazing. The coffee is just average, but how good can coffee really be anyway. It’s all about the bagel!

This place has great bagels and fresh homemade cream cheese! When they say New York bagels they mean it. Also fast and friendly people working here !

Fresh bagels, kind service, low prices. Solid choice. I was happy.

Great little place to catch a morning bagel or a dozen to take home. The staff is very friendly and talkative. Their bagel sandwiches are made on the spot and there are a number of different cream cheeses to try. Looking around when I’ve been there, there appeared to be a number of customers that make it a tradition to stop in on a particular day, have a coffee and bagel/​sandwich and read the paper. They are open for breakfast and lunch and closed during dinner time. If you buy a dozen, they will slice them in half for you. We usually buy a few of each, but make sure we get two of the «everything» bagel. Toasted with cream cheese. A great delight on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

Great place, atmosphere and comfortable to sit and enjoy a good bagel. They are not as good as NY bagels but close to it. My husband and I have had the everything bagel with cream cheese which is okay but again, not as good as NY. We have also tried the plain bagels with egg, cheese and bacon and also the cinnamon raisin. Prices are reasonable and everyone really friendly so we will go back.

I love this place. Friendly people behind the counter. Very good bagel. (Not New York quality though). Great things to stuff in them. I love the lox! More expensive than other options but worth it! Very welcoming place that I love going to! This is a most try on a Sunday morning to have coffee, breakfast and read the newspaper.

Save your $ and go somewhere else.
Small deli feel to this place. The space is a bit disorganized and is need of some TLC. The prep staff the Sunday afternoon I visited seemed confused with just 8 customers. Their bagel supply was close to empty by 12:30. They even forgot my order and I had to ask after 20 min of wait and they had to find it. I wanted to eat in but they brought my order wrapped to go — complete disorganized. They take no pride in what they are doing or serving.
Unfortunately food quality doesn’t save them either. The quality of bagel and sandwich is simply poor. Soggy and undercooked even for a plain bagel with western omlette I ordered. IMHO even BK does better.
The fixes are not impossible — clean up and organize the space, pay closer attention to the customer’s, bake better bagels and use fresher ingredients, take TRUE pride in what you are doing.

Unassuming little place in a suburban strip mall with consistently great food and service

The restaurant was packed and for a good reason. The bagels were delicious and the time it took to get through the line was shorter than I expected. I was welcomed when I first entered the shop and once I placed my order of 3 bagels to go, I was serviced as fast as they could get my food out to me. I will be coming back and trying a different bagel but my roasted garlic bagel with egg white and bacon was delicious.

Bagels were pretty good, especially when toasted. Eggs are microwaved, but worked fine In a sandwich. A bit stingy on the loxs, and over zealous with the red onion.

Really nice environonment and people. I got the turkey chive and cream cheese bagel and I have no complaints it was delicious…
