Muse The Salon

I went to Monica today for the first time, requesting a change. I had a grown out ombré and balyage that looked fine but felt a little tired to me. After a thorough consultation, Monica mixed up two colors and foiled them into my hair. The end result was absolutely gorgeous! She evened out the color, added a reddish hue and it was stunning. It was a much more natural looking color, but still amazing. I will say that I did NOT book a cut, only color, and before I knew it, she was cutting layers into my hair! Yikes! Once she did, I felt like I had to just go with it at that point. However, she did do a great job with the cut. Of course, that means I paid more than I should have, but the result was great. I would just recommend that you confirm with her exactly what you booked ahead of time. I did not deduct a star because I do not think it was intentional. Maybe it was but I was pleased with the outcome. Also, it was on the expensive side, even if you didn’t add in the cut. There are cheaper places but again, I was very pleased. Monica definitely knows what she’s doing! Her assistant/​shampoo gal was also gave a great shampoo and was super sweet. She made me a hot green tea and would check back to see if I needed something. The experience was a good one! I’ll be back!

Great first-​time experience at Muse The Salon. Monica (the owner) gave me a fantastic hair cut and fresh new color. I love it! Her assistant Lydia was very nice. I left feeling very pleased with my hair and overall experience. I will definitely return.

My hairstylist cancelled my appointment and I frantically was searching for someone to do my hair.
I was in desperate need of highlights! I called The Muse and spoke with Monica and she so kindly worked me in. She did my highlights and cut my hair. She did a great job on my highlights, but I have to say, I think her hair cut was one of the best I’d ever had!
I would recommend The Muse hair salon. It’s a very cute and cozy place. A little on the pricey side, but all in all, it’s worth it!

TERRIBLE experience here! It started out fine, maybe a bit annoying since the owner/​hair stylist employs her family as the esthetician, etc and they kept trying to sell me other services, goods, but whatever. That I could deal with.
Coming in with a picture of my hair a few years ago, walking out with not dark brown hair and caramel highlights like I’ve had most of my life, but RED hair with organgey highlights, that I couldn’t deal with! And the fact that they charged me over $ 200 for color and highlights, and couldn’t get it right, I mean come on, RED? WTF? That upset me.
So I politely spoke with them, and came back in for correction. They squeezed me in, but that also meant they made me the last priority. Hours rolled by. They toned down the color but that made it all one shade. What about the highlights I paid for? And they wouldn’t style my hair.
So walking out, I had spent over $ 200 for wet hair, alll one shade of brown, and maybe 6 hours total as well! Never, ever would I trust this place again, not just because of their lack of hair styling skills, but their lack of people and professional business skills as well.
