Liquid Tampa

Charged me $ 20 for $ 10 worth of drinks. Manager lied to keep the extra $ 10. The cover is ridiculous. The drinks are over priced. Highly suggest Bradley’s over this small bar.

Fun safe atmosphere! Would recommend to anyone in the lgbt community looking for a good night of partying! Gotta get your drinks from cj!

Great happy hour specials and friendly staff. It’s for us gays, but we saw a mixed crowd when we went. Tiny dance floor, but a good time.

Liquid is a Tampa gay bar and pretty much a part of the sleazy Ybor City scene. They have some pretty decent DJ’s spinning out some rather good sounds which makes for it being rather lively and decent for dancing. They usually have some twink go-​go boys dancing on stage, but to be honest about them, they’re sort of in dire need of dance instructions. However, they seem to have a good enough following of gropers shoving their hands and cash inside the crotch of their short-​shorts.
On the downsides, it permits smoking so it can get to be rather smoke filled and foul if not downright mephitic in smell.
It attracts a rather diverse crowd ranging from the college to the drop out types, a few hip hoppers, some eye candy seeking middle agers, and though the doorman tries to prevent it, a few street people.

Stepped in to use the restroom really quick. It was 8pm and literally 3 people in the place. And the music was so loud I figured it wouldn’t be an issue to just use the little girls room… First of all, it was disgusting in there. In no way had it been cleaned since at LEAST the night before. Second, I was rudely stopped on my way out by the bartender who threatened to call the police for «trespassing» the next time he «caught me» coming in to use the bathroom. No «excuse me», not a friendly tone in his uncalled for warning. There are better ways to ask customers to please not use the bathroom… Don’t think he could have been more insulting. Liquid, please teach your staff some manners. What an incredibly RUDE employee.

I love this bar! especially for happy hour! Kelly is one of the best bartenders a person could ask for! Perfect pour and not a weak drink! The music and people are always on point! Girrrllll You better werk!!! Love what liquid has done!!!

Went there on 80s and 90s night and had so much fun… Friday night Latin night is also good but they need to play more salsa and merengue instead of all reggaeton…

Great club… good light show. Hosts a rupaul drag race queen almost Every weekend… very diverse on the crowd and multiple themed nights. .very good place to go and check out… wonderful bartenders… mama…Julian…Chris…Dennison…good place

Came for the Queen of the Night competition, the place was PACKED. People were rowdy, they didn’t want to listen to the judges when they said move back, move over and give them space.
The place is small, but the lay out is good. The entertainment was excellent. For most of these being unseasoned Queens, all I can say is Tampa has a lot of talent. I was really impressed with those who traveled from Orlando and Ft. Meyers too!
The sound System and light show seem to be damned good, so I’m guessing on a not so crowded night, Liquid might be enjoyable. But standing in one place, being jostled around by a backpack wearing 20 something, not my idea of fun.

So I’ll be the first to admit; I’m crazy-​spoiled. Lived in LA’s West Hollywood district, SF’s Castro district, and not far from San Diego’s Hillcrest district. And California is pretty well-​known for their gay nightlife.
The don’t do a bad job with what they have going on here. The venue is in a great location, and parking wasn’t problematic. Some of the bartenders were sexy, though they were ironically less friendly than some of the supermodel-​hot bartenders that LA gets accused of allowing bad behavior from. They seemed to be very aware they were good looking and broadcast a bit of attitude, which was unnecessary and killed some of the vibe of the place.
The venue could use a little refreshing. Nothing crazy. But some better lighting fixtures, some fresh paint, a little attention to detail from someone with a little interior design know-​how would go a long way. I’m taking, $ 5000 later it could look dramatically better.
The crowd was a mixed bag, but I think that I caught it on an off-​weekend. It was a three-​day weekend (Monday was Veteran’s Day) so I thought that perhaps there would be a little buzz, but it was pretty dead. I guess not being a big military town, the day off wasn’t a deal-​maker for anyone.
Would love to see a special event on a Sunday to bring people out, every good gay bar I’ve been to has a very busy Sunday because they make it happen. With a little different spin, some mild renovations, and better marketing, this place could easily be a «four-​star» venue and not a three…

Liquid brings in the best Dj’s and also Rupaul Drag Race Queens. This Memorial Weekend on Saturday ⁵⁄₂₅ they are bringing in Adam Killian. Liquid always have great events and innovative ideas to bring to the Tampa LGBT community to enjoy!
