We were walking through Hyde Park Village when my son spotted this Learning Express. You should have seen his eyes light up! He is a HUGE fan of the store, so of course I gave in to his repetitive chorus of, «Please, please, please!». Upon entering the store, I immediately noticed a gigantic ball in the middle of the room. If that doesn’t shout fun then I don’t know what does. There was even a clerk at the front letting children try a jump-powered squeaker. They looked like Tigger as they bounced around gleefully. And, ohhhhhh the toys! So many learning toys cleverly disguised in bright colors, sparkles, and shapes. Science kits, jewelry making, arts sets; they’ve got it all and they’ve got a lot of it. The sales associates are some of the nicest I’ve met, and I felt like I could ask them anything about the store without hesitation. The only reason I’m docking a star is for the size of the place. It’s quite cramped, and I can imagine on a busy day it could become claustrophobic or, at the very least, hard to move around. Other than that, it’s puppies and rainbows. Depending on what part of the store you’re in, you can take that last sentence literally. In an age dominated by electronics, Learning Express gives me hope that I can unglue my son from his games a little more often.

I stopped by the Learning express store today, which is tucked into the Hyde park village shops. They have a good selection of educational toys, puzzles and games. These stores are always good for a browse due to all the unique education items offered for sale. It is always good to buy something for the kids which can help them develop rather than just another toy. Maybe it makes me feel better than it makes my son feel though. I found the staff working there to be helpful without seeming imposing. Perfect combination for sales people.

Interesting little toy store tucked back in a corner behind Pottery Barn. Nice selection of higher end toys and cutesy stuff for the bright rugrat.
