This was the best meal I have had in a VERY long time… Amazing! I got the filet mignon and my sister got the flank steak, these se were the specials and they were better than Berns steakhouse. Very delicious! Reasonably priced too! Looking forward to the tres leches we got to go.

Hubby and I had Cuban sandwiches. They were so good! The kids both had shredded pork and fries. The pork is amazing! Best pork I think I have ever had! The fried yuca sticks are a must! We also were given a taste of the shredded beef. Everything was delicious! Cuban bread and butter sauce were a great start to our meal. Everything that we had was well worth the very reasonable prices!

Service and people were great but not enough to compensate for the food. Rice was parboiled instant dry and lacked flavor. Food was too salty. We ordered a Cuban and roasted chicken. The bread and seasoned pimento butter was really delicious. We will go back to try again if this feedback is implemented

Service was good. Self serve for your drinks. Had the combo THETOUROFHAVANA — picadillo, lechon and Ropa vieja with yellow rice and tostones. The portions are not like the huge back home in Miami but I was satisfied. I think the Ropa vieja was my favorite. For $ 8.99 it was well worth it. I’ll be back again. Oh ya and if course tipped it off with a cafecito.

First time here and it seems to be a small family owned restaurant. Went for lunch and the prices are not bad. You just sit anywhere you want inside(it’s small inside) and you get your own drink. I ordered the tour of Havana and it was pretty good, big proportion too. Prices aren’t bad though. Lunch ranges from $ 8.99 for 1 side and comes with yellow or white rice. Dinner(or normal entrée) comes with yellow or white rice but 2 sides instead and I believe it ranges from 10.99

Thoroughly enjoyed this little gem on north BBD! The sangria was awesomeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Had the Cuban and it was pretty good, my only complaint was that there was too much mayo and mustard on it. I like it on the sandwich but not to where it’s coming off the bread. With that being said, it was good. The mojo pork was also very good.

This place is great. The staff is friendly and everything I have tried has been delicious. The Cuban and Yuca fries are money!

I had the medianoche(midnight) sandwich was flavorful but could of been hotter. My wife had the tour of Havana and it was delicious, especially the black beans. I will say that a smiling face with a creating would set this place off. Overall good food but needs better service.

Good was great! Ordered the steak palomino with onions, only thing I would season steak a bit more and ask for more onions. The black beans were excellent — seasoned to perfection! Everyone’s order was excellent — yucca fries were amazeballs!

I happened to be in the area and ordered carry-out for the family. As I walked in, the hostess bleakly greeted me and seemed absolutely miserable to be there. She took my order in the most monotone voice and maintained that tone with other customers that walked in. Once my carry out order was ready, she placed it on the counter and walked away, didn’t even tell me to have a nice day or anything at all! With that being said, without the crappy service from the miserable hostess, I would’ve given this place 5 stars hands down! When I got home, hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed the Cuban sandwich, one of the best we’ve had. The boiled yuca is also delicious and we had the ham croquettes with a side of the cilantro sauce for dipping. Delish! My only suggestion is to train your staff to be more welcoming and warm with the public, otherwise your business will likely suffer.

The Yuca fries with the cilantro sauce is amazingly good! I highly recommend ordering. I ordered the basic Cuban sandwich and thought it was also good. It was a large portion for me, so I ended up only eating half of it after devouring the fries. Here are the logistics for the first-timers: seat and get the drinks yourselves. When you’re done pay up front.

Fried yuca fries… yum. Start me off with some bread and butter — I’m sold. I also love pork and I love Cuban food, so I am so happy to have found this little gem on our last trip to Wesley Chapel when we were shopping for houses. I doubly enjoyed the Lechon and I tasted the Cuban Sandwich {let’s just say I’ll be getting that next time!}. Grab a beer, kick back and enjoy. It’s so flavorful and will make your tastebuds dance. Get the empanadas… they were FABULOUS. I love that they are family friendly and offer traditional American crap so I can take my kids, b/c those turds won’t eat anything but chicken nuggets, so that is a perk! We can enjoy a family dinner here and that rocks! I want to try the desserts next time.

If you like Cuban food then you will love this gem. The food is amazing! This place was so good that we came back to eat there again the next day. You will get hooked on the butter that comes with the Cuban bread. The café con leche was on point. Everything we had was amazing and the portion sizes were huge. A list of what we had: Empanadas(both beef and chicken) Deviled crab Cuban sandwich Crispy beef Beef Manolo Their plantains are phenomenal on their own or with a bit of salt. This is a place worth checking out if you’re in the area. We don’t live there but we plan on making it a tradition to eat there every time we’re in the area.

My Mom works in the same strip center as Las Palmas and told me I had to try it out. Since then, we have been almost monthly! My husband is Puerto Rican, but I am a sucker for good Cuban food. The Vaca Frita here is the BEST I have ever had! It’s so crispy and has excellent flavor. I love it so much that I never want to order anything else. I also love their Yuca Fries and/or the boiled yuca. If you don’t want to smell like garlic for two days, get the fries instead of the boiled yuca. ;-)

This restaurant has delicious food. I’ve been here many times. My kids even came on a Spanish class field trip. The food is so delicious. I just had the sangria for the first time. Nice touch… a cinnamon rim!!!

So I’m in my kitchen putting the finishing touches on a mad burrito and I have an epiphany. What this Mexican sandwich really needs is some fried yucca on top. I quickly convince myself that that is the ingredient that will send this meal over the edge. I figure I have two choices. I could go to Publix, get some yucca and whip up a batch of homemade fries. This is a good option, not great as my yucca fries are hit and miss. Or, I could go to Las Palmas Café. It is here that the yucca fries are brilliantly crispifried on the outside and perfectly pillowfried on the inside. I decided option two was the way to go so I called in an order for pickup. And Las Palmas delivered(like not literally delivered, I’m talking more metaphorically). Of course, Las Palmas Café always delivers. The café is located in a strip mall on Bruce B. Downs right near the Wal-Mart. I find myself visiting a lot while my wife is looking for used baby stuff at Once Upon a Child. There is something about those used cribs that trigger a desire to have yucca fries. I’d love to do a full review of the menu but honestly, I just can’t get passed the rice and beans and yucca fries. All three of these items consistently deliver what I am looking for. So no matter how many times I look at a crib, get hunger pangs, tell my wife I am going to Las Palmas and then pep talk myself on the way there that I am going to try something different this time, once I open the door the thought of rice, beans and yucca just cancel that pep right out. I’m glad that I’ve discovered this little gem of a café. Before coming here, when I wanted Cuban food I might have to wait a week or two until I can find the time to drive all the way down to La Teresita. Now, if I want it, I get it about ten minutes later. About the only thing I don’t like at Las Palmas is the dipping sauce that accompanies the yucca fries. I much prefer the La Teresita version. But that’s what they make take out for. I just bring those yucca fries home and dress them up however I want.

We had the Cuban sandwich and yellow rice and black beans. Both were delicious! Husband and wife own and run the café and they were most hospitable. Located off a busy highway in a strip mall, but don’t let that fool you. Best Sangria I’ve ever had — not too fruity and not too strong. Served in a Mason jar-like mug with cinnamon sugar frozen on the rim. YUM! Their location hurts their business which is too bad because the food is well worth the trip!

#Delish #Delish #Delish and super affordable. Love this meal, tops any Spanish /Cuban restaurant in New Tampa. I had shredded beef stuffed green plantains 10⁄10 star. Then I had Ropa Vieja it was so damn tasty. I loved it I will def be coming back. Small café, cute ambiance. Chef was polite and asked me how my meal was. Would certainly recommend this place!

200th review! My 200th deserves a 5 star :) Las Palmas is tucked away in a strip center off of Bruce B Downs. They say this area is the«new» Tampa. Our last night in town and wanted cuban of course. Las Palmas serves authentic cuban cusine. It is seat yourself. They have waiter service, but you get your own drinks. For apps, we got empanadas and deviled crab. The empanada was awesome. It was stuffed with their picadillo. The deviled crab was good, but I could have ate another empanada! My husband got the roasted pork, kids shared the midnight cuban sandwich, and I got the palomilla steak. The roasted pork was delicious! Moist and full of flavor. I loved the midnight cuban sandwich. My palomilla steak was great. You can get it breaded or grilled. I got it grilled. I got yellow rice, black beans, and plantains. I enjoyed my meal here! Definitely would be back if I am ever in town =)
