If I could give Kensington more stars I would. I moved to Tampa last year and was in need of a new hair stylist. Lucky me I discovered Kensington and DENISE! My hair desperately needed trim and color. Denise gave me the best hair cut and color I have ever had. I was sold. Ever since she is my hair lady and I couldn’t be happier! She is very professional and has a lot of experience. She always takes her time, never rushes anything and every single time my trim/​color comes out fabulous! Even after few months the cut still looks great and is easy to maintain. Salon feels very homy and inviting. The whole staff is very friendly and treats you as a family. I am also regular at KAREN for my facials. I can’t say enough good things about her. Ever since I started facials with her, my skin looks healthy and radiant. I would recommend to go every 4 weeks and soon you won’t need any make-​up. Karen loves what she does and it shows. Kensigton is worth every $ and I would recommend everybody to pay them a visit!

I went to the salon for a color correction and trim. Denise did an amazing job. She consulted with me and helped me choose a color that I really love. My hair feels and looks so much better than it did when I walked in the salon. I will return and would recommend this salon and Denise.

I have tried SO MANY different hairdressers in the Tampa Bay Area. I asked Siri on my iPhone what’s the best & came up w this one. I called them at the last minute, kind of. Others I called didn’t answer their phone. I called, Zoltan answered & said «get here by 5» & I did. He did my hair. First showed me some pics online of what I basically wanted. All beautiful. A few mos. later my hair still looks nice, in my opinion. I’m due for a trim again soon so I’ll be calling him. He charges a high $, but he’s worth it.

I have been a loyal client to my hairdresser in Lithia for over 15 years. After moving to South Tampa I decided to try out a new salon that is close to my home. I was very nervous as I trusted my long-​time hairdresser. From the moment I walked in I knew it was going to be a great experience. The salon is beautiful, you can’t beat the location and the staff is so friendly and fun. It’s always such a nice and relaxed experience. My hairdresser is Denise Waldie and she does amazing work. She is professional, efficient, creative and knows what she is doing. Every time I leave the salon my hair looks great! I receive compliments from not only family and friends, but complete strangers, which is awesome. I always leave with a great cut and color. Thank you for reviving my hair Denise! I was referred to this salon by a friend and went to see Denise. First off the salon and spa are beautifully decorated and it is very comfortable inside. Denise gave me a consult first and was very interested in what I wanted to accomplish (I was coming to her in a in-​between state for a major process or processes). Well what ever she did was perfect! I did not think my hair could look this good and then she said over the next appointment or so she would perfect it-​which I am so very confident she will do. I am beyond happy with this salon (and they have a spa too) and my new colorist Denise. Highly recommend !

I’m fairly new to the Tampa area, and I was looking for a new place to get my facials. I ended up at Kensington after calling around (and looking here on Unilocal) and realizing that a lot of the salons/​spas in the Tampa area are overpriced and/​or don’t have the greatest reviews! Karen, the Kensington esthetician, is not only sweet and energetic, but remarkably talented and knowledgeable! It was clear from our conversation that she truly loves her job and really cares about making sure your skin is taken care of (as opposed to squeezing the hell out of your face, charging you over $ 100, and being done with it). My facial went well over an hour, and I’m pretty sure she gave me services that weren’t supposed to be included in the facial I paid for. When we were finished, I went to the restroom to take a look, and my face was already looking fresher and glowing, minutes after we finished! I scheduled a follow-​up with her right there on the spot, and I plan on sticking with her from now on. This is the type of person you want working on your face!

Really lovely salon, very friendly owners and best of all, a great haircut from Zoltan. Very welcoming environment.

Denise, Denise, Denise, what can I say. If. you are looking for a fabulous, modern, easy to care for haircut this is the place. Everyone is very personable, the salon is spotless. These are not stylist there are artists. Love this place. Visit Denise.

I received a bad haircut previously from another salon, so I was scared to get my hair done again. I decided to go to Kensington salon to fix my previous bad hair cut. Everyone in the salon was very welcoming and pleasant. Denise cut and fixed my hair. She was very warm and did a wonderful job. I left the salon wanting to take her with me!

If you live in Tampa Kensington is the only place to go. Karen is the absolute best when it come to facials/​skin treatments and for pedicures. You feel like you are family from the second you walk in the door. I moved out of state and I still haven’t found a place that compares. You will not be disappointed with any service you get here!

I called two other Salon’s from the Unilocal listing to schedule an appointment — one could not help me due to computer failure and the other did not answer their phone.
Kensington not only answered but scheduled me for the next day. The place is immaculate, people are kind and my hair which was terribly damaged from a Paul Mitchell Chain Salon ended up looking fabulous when I left. This is a family own place and everyone cares about you. We have a health plan in place for my hair. It’s just wonderful. HIGHLY recommend for a great cut and color!

Amazing, clean, peaceful place. Staff is welcoming and makes you feel right at home. Stylists really go out of their way to ensure satisfaction.

Karen, Rob, and their team are the reason why I keep coming back to the Kensington Salon! They provide top notch service, are true professionals who care about doing what is best for me, and are on the edge of new developments in the hair and skin industry!
My skin feels great and I always get compliments that I glow after Karen’s treatment. After doing a round of light peels I see a drastic difference in my skin — wrinkles smoothed out and skin looking fresh and glowing!
Up until I met Karen, I trusted only one person to style my eyebrows. Eyebrows frame the face and take a long time to grow, so I was hesitant to have anyone new touch them, which is why I ended up driving to St. Pete to get them done. After getting to know Karen and her meticulous approach to my skin, I felt comfortable having her wax and style my eyebrows and they are beautiful! Very natural looking!
I also get my pedicures done here and I love that they only use copper tubs to soak the feet in. Copper has antibacterial properties and I heard one too many stories of friends getting infections from places which are not hygienic to know how important it is that Kensington salon has such high standards.
However, these are not the only reason why I love going to the salon. Going to the Kensington Salon feels like coming over to see old friends — I have a cup of their delicious Yorkshire tea and get to catch up with Karen and Rob. They are genuine, warm, full of interesting stories, and I know that walking away from the salon I will feel and look great!

As good as it gets! I lived in New York City for 20+ years and half that time I had an amazingly talented stylist cut my hair. When I moved to Tampa, all the hair cutters do is ask you what number to use on the electric hair cutter. I could cut my own hair if it were that simple.
These folks do give you the attitude or act as pretentious as most of the salons seem to be in South Tampa. or at least the ones I went to get haircuts and were definitely treated like I wasn’t accepted or a regular…
Rob is a well trained & seasoned stylist. Great guy to talk to about politics, business, culture & travel. He understand my fun, thick, wavy & complicated hair. Well use of clippers and a good eye for hair. I’ve recommended them to many people and almost all respond how well they were treated and great they looked after being styled by Rob or Ana.
Great services for nails, massages. Very convenient location in South Tampa and reasonably priced for the quality.

WOW! That’s all I have to say. The staff is unbelievably awesome and friendly! I had my Bachelorette’s Spa Day here and they were EVERYTHING that I could have hoped for even though my girls were a bit out of control. They had cupcakes and champagne and coffee, and they did some amazing manicures and pedicures despite all of the hassle we probably caused. Very professional.

I’ve had my hair cut by Ana several times. She took my bland hair style and made it innovative and trendy. I get so many compliments on it whenever I’m out that I had to start carrying her business cards around with me to give out to people.
I also highly recommend getting the Swedish Lomi Lomi massage by Jessica. I’ve had massages all over at other resorts and spas and I just find that her technique is amazing. I’ve also gotten 2 lymphatic massages from her and both times they helped to get rid of my headaches.
The owners Karen & Rob are fab too. It’s such a happy environment and I love spending the day there because I know it’s going to be such a relaxing time. Highly recommend this place!
