Cute vegan Jamaican restaurant ran by a husband and wife, she was super nice! The dishes were yummy and so were the patties. We also had some sort of cake that was very good too. Definitely will be back.

We were in town for the road races and stopped by to refuel. The food was great, the variety incredible, and the people outstanding! We will be back on our next visit to Tampa.

Miss Jean and her husband are a wonderful couple who took great care to reassure me that my daughter, who’s vegan, would be taken care of. Clearly the food is made with love and everything they make is delicious. What’s more, their portions are great, enough for two meals(depending on how you eat).

I’m not a vegan, but once in a while I like having a meatless-protein day and I’m glad I stopped in here. The owners are incredibly friendly and definitely make you feel at home. I got the BBQ tofu with cabbage, potato salad, and collards. The BBQ sauce is excellent, I highly recommend it. The tofu had an interesting«squeaky» texture– that’s the best way I can describe it. Cabbage– awesome, and just really fresh. Collards were kickin’. I could eat a whole tub of that potato salad. I’ll be back to try some of the other protein and sauce options!

Delicious Vegan Food! You MUST try Just 4 U Vegan!!! Best Vegan food in town and the sweetest service! Come see Jean. She will make you feel like you’re in your mother’s kitchen! No frills or fancy here, but amazing service and delicious, fresh, cooked from scratch meals! So much love here! I had Crispy Spring rolls, hearty lentil soup, «chicken» curry over brown rice with cabbage and collard greens! And a Happy Ending… «cheese» cake with fresh Florida strawberries! They have it all! VEGAN Jerk! BBQ! Chicken! Fish! Amazing«cheesecakes», pound and carrot cake!

Wow, I love this place and want to back and eat here again. The food was clean and freshly made and I especially love the Jamaican flavoring to the dishes. We ate like kings, rice and peas, collard, greens, potato salad, corn bread, Jerk tamale, and carrot cake all home made. The owners of this restaurant are so nice, God Bless them. They honestly care about people and therefore use the finest ingredients. Run to this place for the best vegan food where you will satisfied your tastebuds and feel like you are at home as well.

Absolutely loved it! I had the real Jamaican ackee, vegan salt fish, dumbling, green banana, plantain and yam! Washed that down with a wonderful very tasty glass of sorrel. The service was very warm. very friendly. It was like coming home. The prices are very reasonable. I say stop wasting time and get over there now!

Food was delicious, obviously made with care. Homestyle/soul food feel. We met the two owners, extremely nice and made sure we were happy, made great suggestions. I’d love to see this place thrive.

We found this gem on Unilocal and they didn’t disappoint! The food was incredible. I had the BBQ Tofu and the sauce was incredible. I also had the veggie empanada and it was so flavorful. My husband had the chickpea curry empanada which was also great! For sides we had collard greens(which my husband claims were the best he’s ever had), Mac and cheese, rice and peas and potato salad. I think the potato salad was the best! The service was wonderful. We highly recommend for vegans and non vegans alike!

The restaurant had a car drive thru the front window. Just spoke with the owner and they are trying to reopen by 2Nov2015. I’m definitely going to support them when they reopen. The reviews make it sound so good!

This is my boyfriend and I’s go to Jamaican spot. The owners are the sweetest people ever! The food is amazing, and I loooove that everything is vegan! I always get the patties to start and the curried«chicken», rice and peas, cabbage and the candied yams… so good. Everything is delicious from meals to the home made desserts.(We recommend the guava cake!) We try to make it out there as often as we can… I definitely recommend if you are looking for a vegan and or Jamaican restaurant!

This place was awesome. It’s a small family spot, and the people are very friendly and explain the menu great. We had patties to start, and«meat» platters as our main. The flavors were on point… Especially considering that everything is vegan! I highly recommend this place. Oh… And as a bonus… The prices are great!

I love this place. A full plate of real food and tons of options for sides, yassss please. I have tried everything they make here, and it’s all fresh tasting and flavorful. Not to mention, I’m thrilled to support this small vegan restaurant as a practicing vegan for ten years. The people who own this spot are warm and inviting and they make custom vegan desserts. Yay for living near hear, I will be back.

So… this was my first time in probably over 6 months going out to North Tampa, and after a bad interview I wanted to indulge in some Loving Hut. Needless to say I was pretty disappointed to see they were closed, yet again. This was about the third time I’d been to Loving Hut and being met with a «sorry we’re closed for vacation» sign. ***Hello Loving Hut, are you reading this? *** I wasn’t about to let the day go by wasted, so I pulled out the old Unilocal app in hopes of finding some new vegan joints. Kaleisia Tea Lounge; nope; not enough veg food options. Trang Viet; nope; not enough variety. Just 4 U Vegan Kitchen? Hmmm… Jamaican vegan! Definitely gotta try it. So I make the ½ mile trip down, and keep my eyes peeled, since I know it’s gotta be a tiny hole in the wall, seeing where on Nebraska it’s located. Ok so the area isn’t exactly posh SOHO or Meadow Pointe, but I get a good vibe once I pull into the little parking area. I go inside and this place is just like the name says; a kitchen. It’s just like walking straight into your country mom’s or grandma’s kitchen. Three tables to sit at, a box tv set sitting on a shelf with a game of Parcheesi on the bottom shelf, and just a few steps away is the register and the kitchen. A cute little lady is in the kitchen hard at work preparing the order for the customer ahead of me and says«I’ll be right with you!», while her twin sister greets me. I take a seat and look at the menu. Not many items, but this is mom’s kitchen, not some fancy South Tampa bistro. Keep it plain and simple. The owner(Joan) was so sweet and cute as a button, I ended up ordering probably just about everything on the menu except the smoothies. There weren’t many items, so I ended up spending about $ 22 and added a 25% tip. Everything was yummy. My favorite was the jerk soy protein on top of the rice and peas, with sides of collard greens and potato salad. The cheesecake was also good. Everything was homemade. She even has a vegan version of beef patties, which was a sight for sore eyes, me being a former beef patty lover. I definitely wasn’t disappointed. There are 4 different varieties to choose from: Jerk Soy Protein, Curry Chickpea, Cabbage & Carrot, and SouthWest(black beans, corn, and sweet bell pepper). For those of you who are used to Loving Hut and Trang Viet, she also has vegan spring rolls, which were also yummy. You can pick from jerk sauce, ginger, or sweet and sour sauce. There were a variety of island beverages to choose from. Most of them contained ginger, which I’m not a fan of. I ended up getting the coconut water. I never had it and decided that was the perfect opportunity to give it a try. For those of you who’ve never tried it, I’d say it’s an acquired taste, sort of like if it was your first time drinking skim or almond milk. It was raining out and Joan was so sweet she even helped me carry my food out to my car. I’ll definitely be coming back to Just 4U Vegan. (I looked at their website and realized I might have gotten the sister’s names mixed up… I think Joan was actually Jean. Joan/Jean twins, if you’re reading this please forgive me for getting your names mixed up! LOL)

Best vegan spot in the area. The food is very flavorful, filling and made with love. Jean is such a beautiful person inside and out. I come here every time I’m in town. Jerk patties are the BEST!

This was my first visit to this all vegan restaurant and I was so pleased. You get a lot of food for $ 8.00 and it was delicious. It’s a small quiet ambiance. I particularly loved the vegan potato salad. To die for. Upside down pineapple cake was light and flaky and so yummy. I will be back with friends for sure.

Jamaican food lends itself to vegan ism easily, but Mr. Garnett & Mrs. Jean make the flavors amazing while emphasizing great health and living well. They are gracious and kind hosts, I didn’t feel like a customer, I felt like family. The space is intimate, but they are knowledgeable, friendly, and dessert! I have my parents pineapple upside down cake that was such a big hit! Vegan, of course, & my folks are definitely not quitting meat, oil, butter etc. such a pleasure to find this gem in Tampa.

This mom and pop restaurant/market is off the beaten path but it’s worth the drive! Their all vegan menu is Caribbean/southern inspired, with TVP and tofu and a host of yummy sides: plantains, collards, mac and cheese, etc. The owners are both very sweet, the service quick(they must prepare most of their offerings the morning of), and the servings generous(though not enormous). The vegan deserts are a nice treat at the end of the meal, too.

This kitchen serves up great vegan Jamaican food — we ordered both the bbq and jerk chick-free with three sides. The sides were candy yams, rice and beans, coleslaw, and collard greens. They also serve vegan desserts such as pound cake, as well as take home goods and a small shop of empanadas. It’s a great little home café that serves up vegan soul food.

Sometimes no frills can be a really good thing because it means you can focus on making what you have really good and keeping the prices down to something more reasonable. Just 4 U Vegan Kitchen was apparently located in the nearby strip mall for a while but then made the wise decision to get out on their own in a separate location. It’s still in tiny shopping center that isn’t in the best area, but the owners manage to make the restaurant feel very welcome inside. The food is very affordable for being vegan, with full meal options costing $ 8 with a protein and 3 vegetable sides with the options of things like collard greens, yams, cabbage and beans and rice. My wife tried the jerk sauce on her«chicken» and I had the brown sauce on the«ocean protein». The jerk seasoning was very good with a nice fresh flavor and a decent amount of heat. The owners kept worrying that it was too spicy but my wife thought it was great and could have even been a bit more spicy. The brown sauce was a thinner sort of gravy with a lot of the same flavors of the jerk sauce, but without the kick. Still very good, and all the flavors on the plate complimented each other. This feels like the kind of food you would want to take on a picnic somewhere, so that might be what we have to do sometime. The owners were very friendly and let us sample several things, and also checked on us a few times while we ate to make sure everything was good. They make you feel like you’ve been coming to the restaurant for a while even though it’s your first time. So if you’re looking for something that is vegan and still affordable, and is different from the usual Thai or Chinese rut, you should definitely give Just 4 U a try. The location may seem a little off-putting if you don’t live immediate area here, but you owe it to yourself to ignore that feeling and get some very satisfying vegan Caribbean food.

Love this place. Jamaican husband and wife own this and they are very friendly. Cute atmosphere, it’s very tiny and situated right by USF which makes it a convent lunch break place for me. Got the jerk empanadas for 1.75 $, coconut smoothie for 3 dollars and 2 carrot muffins for 1.50 $. Very generous prices. Over all great food and atmosphere at a low cost.
