Why 3 stars? Because this is one of the most polarizing reviews I’ll ever write. — — — First, let’s start with the good. I must have called about 10 screen companies because I wanted to get a screened-in patio built on the side of my house. The problem was that I was looking for a company that would allow me to pay in payments. Every company I called said that the policy was to pay half up front and half upon completion, which I could not afford. And then I talked to Jared, and we set up a payment plan that worked for me. Also, the work itself looks great. I was looking forward to my screen being built from the moment I moved into the house. Usually with that much anticipation for anything, it can be tough to live up to the hype… but not here. The patio looks really great… I couldn’t be happier with it. But here is the problem that I have with Jared’s services… and these are all concerns that I voiced to him numerous times. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I brought up these issues with him, the behavior never changed. And there was no accountability for it. Jared was incredibly prompt and on-time to my house 5 times throughout this process: the first visit to make the initial sale, and the 4 times he came over to collect a payment. If money was not involved, getting Jared to come get some work done was one of the most frustrating processes imaginable. This was the routine: Monday — Jared: «Hey man, I will be over tomorrow, first thing in the morning to get everything built.» Tuesday — nothing. Wednesday — nothing. Thursday — Phone Call from Jared: «So, crazy story… my helpers all went out partying this weekend I guess and no one is answering their phone… I still can’t get a hold of anyone, but I’ll let you know when I do.» Friday — nothing. Saturday — nothing. Sunday — nothing. Monday — nothing. Tuesday — I call him to ask for an update, and he says«Hey man… haven’t forgot about you. I was gonna come out today, but my wife suddenly had to go into work and I gotta stay home with my kids. She isn’t answering her phone but as soon as she gets home, I’ll be right over later today. But listen, you don’t have to call me, I’m all over it and will give you an update as soon as I have an update.» Wednesday — nothing. Thursday — nothing. Friday — Phone call from Jared«Man… my truck is getting worked on, and I’m trying to get my hands on another truck, but I can’t bring all my stuff over without my truck. I’ll be over first thing Monday morning, I promise.» Monday — nothing. Tuesday — nothing. Wednesday — Jared shows up at 2pm, works for a couple hours, and then gets rained on, so he can’t complete the job. There’s still a ton to do. He promises to be back X day, but actually shows up 6 days later, and even on that day, still does not finish what he said he was going to do. Of every time he came by to work, he only showed up once before noon. And when he showed up in the afternoon, rain, as could be predicted in the summer, got in the way every single time. You’d think he might show up in the morning a couple of times, so that he could actually complete the job… but no. I was constantly last on the priority list. All in all, the job that was supposed to be complete in a couple days, took 5 weeks. The main issue I had with the process is this… this is how Jared should have dealt with this situation: «listen, I can work with you, but you have to understand that this is going to take a while, because I have to prioritize and work on people’s jobs that are paying me in full. Realistically, this could take a few weeks because I’m cutting you a deal.» Instead, he consistently told that he would be at my house on a certain day to get work done, and he consistently never was. He was 6, 7, 12, and 5 days late for the four major times that he came out. He always had some kind of crazy story as an excuse, and the routine just got really old. He was also very misleading, as he would have work to finish and say that he was«coming by.» I thought that meant he was coming by to finish the job, but he would show up and say, «hey man… we will be back on Saturday to finish this thing up.» He was only there to collect his payment. I debated even writing this review for a while… but I just feel like people should know who and what they are dealing with before committing thousands of dollars to someone.
