Hurricane Grill & Wings

I am here right now and it is no longer the Hurricane place. Menu is scaled down but similar items, and it is 3 laser printer pages stapled together. It is too new to review – just wanted to let the hungry travelers know not to look for the Hurricane Grill. It’s called Royal Fortune or something now. I’m curious to see what’s here next time I’m in town.

The carribean chicken is excellent. Good beer selection with 2for1 specials. Plenty of TVs, tuned to sports most of the time. Good bartenders and serving staff.

Ok, so I am only giving this place two stars because I actually like their wings and their Margaritas. The atmosphere is very laid back but also very dark and empty, a good place to go to if you would like to just chat it up with an old friend or get better acquainted with a new date, as you will not get bothered, lol.
The customer service is really horrible. One time I went there and the women staff there refused to service me, I guess because this hot guy at the bar who was being really nice and maybe flirtatious with them became very friendly with me, yeah well they refuse to service me, or acknowledge my presence, very rude. They also spent the night eating behind the bar, petting and playing with a co workers dog!
The last time I was there, I sat at the bar and my bill came up to $ 19 and some change, I asked for the bill, the bartender (who looks like a handsome Snoop Dog) gave it to me but failed to even come back and get the money. Another bartender finally came and picked up the check after 10 minutes of the first bartender ignoring it. I put a $ 20 and a $ 10 in the bill fold expecting to get change so that I could leave a tip, but she gives me back the $ 10 bill. I just took my money and left. I didn’t even tip and at that point didn’t even care, I swear the staff there is kinda slow, mentally and physically.

Food was great, service was absolutely terrible. She was slow and forgetful. My fella had to repeat «No cheese, no tomato,» about 3 times. *Smh* She looked 18 and immature. I’m sure she’s a nice girl, but she must be on the slow side. Get a woman with basic serving knowledge! Seems like everything took forever– we were waiting on her and the place was silent and pretty empty.
Meh, oh well…

Came in on a Friday night expecting a large crowd, but found the grill not too busy. Ate at the bar and was served almost immediately by Rich. Had the bone-​in wings which were excellent; well cooked and not greasy. My only negative comment was not being told about the 2 for 1 special on the beer. Apparently you have to ask if there are any specials going on as the specials are not displayed.

Went for lunch and the place was barren, our service was good. Ben, our waiter/​bartender was attentive. They have a hamburger lunch special and my buddy got that, it tasted like a $ 5 burger, frozen. I had the shrimp taco’s, meh… again with the frozen taste. Drinks were light, food was alright. Service was good, that’s about it.
You do have the option to sit outside, but you’re catching unappetizing views from the cheap motel attached. Made me feel like I was somehow doing something inappropriate. Good location, could be so much better with a renovation and new chef.

Not sure what everybody is talking about. We had the best waitress ever! (Sierra).

I came here one night during my stay in Tampa to watch the hockey playoff games.
The service was very slow. It took forever to be greeted by a bartender and I had to wait a long time in between drinks. They only had one of the two hockey games. Apparently they didn’t have one of the channels. Maybe it’s because I live in a city that cares more about sports, but I can’t believe that a place that touts themselves as a «sports bar» wouldn’t have access to a PLAYOFF GAME. Ridiculous.
I heard they have really good wings, but I didn’t get anything to eat. I was bummed that I couldn’t watch both hockey games. Fix that problem. You’re surrounded by hotels. People come from out of town and want to watch sports.

Although I will start off by saying I did actually enjoy what I ate, the entire experience at this location was so bad, that I will not return. It took close to 15 minutes for someone to even greet my table once the host sat me. I was obviously ready to order at that point and did so. The food took too long to come out — especially since I was dining alone. The restaurant was not busy so I’m not sure what the delay was. By the time I got my food I had to immediately ask for my check — from another serve since I didn’t see mine. She left my water empty even though I saw her walk by and look right at it. Again — the food I ate was good. The experience was so that I will not try this place again.

No Restaurant on premise: they do not welcome hotel guests well. They close at random times based on volume– leaving one with no reliability — and the bald bartender manager is snotty about it!
So loud that hotel business Center — another «spin»
IAnd when it is open– it’s so loud, you cannot function in the business center no matter how much Adderol your Dr. Gives you.
You can choke on your food– which is not bad

I didn’t eat, I only had beers so I may be a little biased. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised that it was 2 for 1s. I looked at the food menu and it was kind of pricey for a wing joint I thought. The place was dead, the staff was marginal, but the beers were 2 for 1 :) I’d give their food a shot, but I just better bring my wallet!

The place was a lot less crowded than I expected given their location and the fact that it was a Friday night. I’d recommend some serious marketing.
The wings were pretty good. I had never had coconut flavored sauce and I was impressed. I definitely would have them again.
The atmosphere was lively but we could still hold a conversation. The TVs could probably be better aligned but I could still see two games fairly well. Also, the wait staff was gorgeous and yet not trashy like some other wing places. Hey, I’m a guy. It plays into my choice of where to eat.
Will I eat there again? Yes.

Fun place for lunch or after dinner drinks.
Good selection of sauces. And you can have as many as you want. Fun for dipping!
I would consider it a step above good bar food. In other words, people aren’t beating down the door to get their hands on the wings. But if you’re hanging out and enjoying the day outside or in, you won’t leave hungry and there’s plenty to choose from on the menu.
Try the quesadilla or the boneless wings if you don’t want to commit to getting greasy with an order of wings.

The Westshore Hurricane Wings is TERRIBLE.
The food is overpriced and extremely bland. Everything is overly greasy and slightly overcooked. The sauces lack the promised flavor, and are, generally, tasteless.
Do NOT go to the Hurricane Wings for lunch. The service is absurdly slow.
The restaurant’s atmosphere, like its food, is boring and bland. It is a large, echoing space, and entirely lacks ambiance.
There are plenty of restaurants in the Westshore area. ANY one of them would be a better option than Hurricane Wings.

Meh.
We decided to try this place and we were basically, unimpressed. The space is large, too large really, and there were very few patrons. Our food was «generic bar food».
They did have a lot of TV’s around so, perhaps it is happening when there is a game on. I’ll never know.

This turned out to be a great place to watch the playoff games since I was on business travel. 2 for 1 drafts also worked out well. Service was prompt, I had no issues, even though the tables were mostly filled.
On the other hand, I had a wing appetizer and a Mahi mahi dinner while watching the game — and I really wouldn’t come here for the food again.

I visited this place strictly on Unilocal reviews. I was not disappointed.
We decided to get their boneless wings. I think they offered us 4 different types of wing sauce. We got the wings naked so we could just dip in whatever we wanted. Nice touch. They have a wing flavor for everyone — even salt and vinegar! The wings here, I felt, were better than Buffalo Wild Wings.
For $ 1 more you get two sides. I chose the fries and the chips. There was enough food for 3 people after you included those sides… wow!
This place is in a hotel… so for what it’s worth, most South Tampa «cool guys» won’t venture into this place. Consider that a plus.
They have NFL Ticket here, so on a Sunday the place can be hopping. The service was very good while I was here. I was told to try the garlic & parmasean fries, but I decided to leave that for next time.
If you join their email club, they’ll hook you up with plenty of offers.
I can’t wait to get back here to try some more items on the menu!

I’ve been here several times & have really enjoyed the food. They have all kinds of choices — burgers, salads, knishes, etc. I’ve had a burger each time that I’ve been there & I thought they were great! The service is not the fastest but professional. There’s lots of choices, but I’ve gone with the burgers most of the time. There’s lots of different options to put on the burgers, too. I think this is a great place with a full bar and a few tv’s honestly i love coming here for lunch. Its not too crowed but noises but what can you expect from a sport bar type resturant. just only hope the service would be alot better. Other than that a great place to have a bit and catch a few games.

I was very surprised at how good these wings were. I am from Buffalo and I travel a ton. Everywhere claims go have Buffalo wings and some may think that a wing is just a wing but they aren’t. This place has a very nice selection in flavors and the wings were good and extra crispy like we ordered them.
