If you read the reply comments from the office manager at Home Team, you will see why you should not even consider selecting Home Team to inspect your valuable property. Home Team DIDNOT enter the crawl space under the home, as he states. Their inspector took pictures with a bright light from outside to avoid going into the spacious crawl space. They DIDNOT identify that there were concerns with the foundation. Their report only stated that«repointing» was required on the brick piers, which is filling in areas of lost mortar. Note that when Home Team says«major,» that only means that the repair should cost over $ 1000…very deceptive. Again, note their defensive tone, and that they have no interest in supporting their services. Basically, take your money, assume no liabilities, and conduct business in an extremely unethical and unprofessional manner.

I had a housing inspection performed by the Home Team Inspection and the experience was trouble free. They showed up on time, spent about and hour and a half inspecting the residence, and the report was well written and thorough. They had no problem showing me everything they were inspecting and were friendly people. One never knows whether something was overlooked which could manifest itself in the long term, but the inspectors were very observant and answered all my questions about how to fix whichever items were noted in the report. I’d give them 5 stars if their prices were lower, but as it is, their prices are a bit higher than local competitors. Overall I had a good experience with the inspectors and the report was given to me in a timely manner.

I would not recommend using this company for your home inspection. I am in real estate and I work with many inspectors and inspection companies, but my first experience with Home Team Inspection was personal in 2006. My husband and I purchased a home and I hired them to do the inspection. I was concerned about two things and told them so, the air conditioner and the roof. To make this story short, the roof leaked badly and had to be replaced two months after we bought the home, $ 10,000. When I questioned them, Mitch came out and said there was no way they could have known. The roofer disagreed and said they should have caught it. It needed 23 sheet of plywood replaced. My second experience with them is more recent. In Nov. 2012 the Home Team Inspection company did an inspection at a house I have listed(they were hired by the buyer). That night I got a call from the home owner that the security system was not working on one door. We got a repair person out there in a few days and he said the wire had been broken. It was over $ 200 to get it repaired due to the difficulty and the seller had to go days without the full security system. When the buyer told the Home Team Inspection what had happened and sent the bill Mitch stated that it was not their fault. They are trained to only step on the joist. The fact is that the security system worked prior to the inspection and did not after the inspection. The security system and door in question is used everyday so it’s hard to believe that it stopped working on it own in the 8 hours it was turned off for the inspection. The funny thing is the Home Team Inspection company brings a security guy out. If it had been broken, wouldn’t he have noticed?
