Firehouse Subs

Great place if you are a sub sandwhich lover! Higher quality meats and cheeses than other places. I did not know it was a chain at first until I researched it online, no matter about that, a lot of store in Florida.
Every-​time someone walks in the staff says, «Welcome to Firehouse,» which is nice and unexpected. You will wait a little longer to receive your sandwich because this is not Subway!
I only have experience with their meatball sub, (so far) which is outstanding and filling. I would rate their meatball sub better than Cosseta, and is little less (including tax) price wise for a 12″ too. The only thing is the bread could be a little better, they should use more like a baguette.
Plus, the Firehouse meatball sub puts a hearty helping of cheese on top and marinara sauce too and red pepper flakes can be requested. This is NOT a run-​of-​mill ‘iffy quality shop like other sub shops, Firehouse is top notch in my book and very good.
It has one of those Coke fusion machines if that is of interest to you, too. Overall, if you want good subs, don’t mind paying a little more for better stuff, and are sick of Subway, Quiznos, and Jimmy Johns, then this a nice change of pace and will make you a regular because of their sheer choice in subs.

Ordered my food 20 minutes ago, 4 people after me all received there orders. Yet I’m still waiting. Update my orders done, they blamed a Tampa cop for stealing it, never apologized for screwing up, or offer anything to make it right.

Firehouse makes the best subs by far. They’re my absolute favorite. This particular location is large with outdoor seating. They have tvs and one of those giant soda machines with a million choices of soda.

Good location and all but one of my visits has produced a solid sandwich.
I’ve probably had about six different types of sandwiches here and I do like how many options I have to customize additional ingredients at no additional charge.
While I usually come here at off hours when there is clearly not a lunch rush, the guys making my sandwich get to it and I don’t mind waiting a few minutes for them to get it right… especially if I’m ordering something from the hot side of the menu.
The value of getting just the sandwich is very good considering every receipt seems to come with an online survey which produces a code that takes care of the medium drink on every subsequent visit. And I love the Cherry Lime Aid option at the machine.
I do wonder why so often my order is rung in by an employee who doesn’t seem very good at doing it. Almost every time, the guy who ends up making my sandwich has to look over the shoulder of the employee taking my order and offer assistance. Sure, I could understand training somebody now and then, but my ordering experience almost always seems to have an awkward moment or two.
However, the end results are usually tasty and the restaurant is consistenly very clean.

Firehouse Subs are always delicious and my veggie sub today was no exception! But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent customer service and cleanliness at this location. Tim was outstanding behind the register and when there was no one in line, he was working hard making sure every surface was clean, all the paper goods were well stocked, and checking in with happy diners to see if they needed anything. What a wonderful overall experience! And no tip jar which is rare these days, and they would not take a tip either. If I was a Secret Shopper they would get a top score from me. Good job guys!!!

Horrible service. Food is same as others but waiting 20 – 30 mins for a sub is not worth it. The Great at greeting you but they’re not great apologizing when they do something wrong. Come here off only other was no preparation for preorders by groups so you get wait for the 20 sub order the precedes you.

My fiancé and I stopped by on our way to the mall and par my sugestion decided to split a meatball sub and boy and I glad he listened to me! The sub itself was so hot and the melted cheese made it look amazing! Not to mention the smell alone was heveanly! When it cooled down enought for us to eat it was perfect! We ended up splitting it because I don’t usually eat that much but it was the perfect ammount!
The staff were super friendly and the store was clean :)
Keep up the great work with the yummy meatball subs!

LOVED THE MEATBALL SUB!
Never tried the meatball sub till this visit. It was very good and hit the spot. The roll was not soggy and the sub was piping hot. I really enjoyed how this sub was presented and made. The cheese on top was bubbly and brown. This was a delightful attribute of the sandwich. The meatballs were moist, a good texture, and the sauce was flavorful.
The staff was engaging in conversation and funny. They helped pass the few minutes quickly it took for my sub to be made.
You can never go wrong with a Firehouse sub and the hot sauce bar.

I’ve been a fan of Firehouse Subs for a long time. Glad they finally made it to West Tampa! If you are into hot subs this is a great alternative to the place that starts with a Q and ends with an o’s. The ingredients are fresh and there is plenty of meat on the sandwich. Order it «fully involved» for everything or just name your toppings. I like the Sorensen’s hot sauce to give my sandwich a tasty zing (they also have about 25 other hot sauces available). Also, they are one of the only places that has Cherry Limeade, I could drink gallons of that stuff.

The food is great; however, Corporate should seriously rethink the «welcome to Firehouse» greeting. I had to listen to it being screamed out of sync by a good 5 employees at least 15 – 20 times while I had my sub. It doesn’t create a very inviting atmosphere for those that are already seated and trying to enjoy their food.

Really good subs. Hawaiian Bun sandwich was my favorite a couple months back at a different location, but that special sandwich is gone for now. nevertheless, I really like the BBQ sauce and they have a wide selection of sauces to choose from. I am reluctantly giving 4 stars because this location was very clean, well staffed, and since it was so new, it seemed everyone was in training and on their toes trying to go above and beyond.
Ultimately, firehouse is a bit pricey, they seem to go a bit skimpy on the meat, and the subs are not that big in the first place. Generally speaking, most Firehouse establishments probably do not deserve more than 3 stars, this place was so new, so clean, and working so hard to do everything perfect, that I was convinced they deserved an extra star.
This location is conveniently located close to my work, unfortunately, unless they drop the price or load up the sandwiches and subs with more meat, I will probably continue to get my subs from Publix.
