This restaurant exceeded all expectations and I figured out why! The family that owns this tasty joint also owns another more popular bar & grille right down the road. Let me be the first to promise you – this family knows how to cook a great authentic Filipino meal. Give it a try, you can thank this guy later.

So so food and portions were small. You pay too much for the portion you get. We will not be going back. There are better options in this area

I was leery about going here since it only got 3-star reviews, but I am so glad we went here. We had lumpia shanghai, sizzling pork sisig, chicken curry, pork adobo & dinuguan. Everything was delicious! I’ve obviously had better Filipino food, but it’s definitely good. I was born in the Philippines, and I go back there 1−2x/year so I KNOW Filipino food. We are definitely coming back here to try more of their food. The only bad thing is that the waitress we had was not the friendliest/happiest girl, but that doesn’t matter. They weren’t busy at 7:30pm on a Sunday. I really hope that’s not a sign of their business going down because I will be incredibly sad if that happens. Please see my pics for more comments on the food we ordered.

I had the chicken adobo and lumpia. Gross! The parking lot was empty at 12pm on a weekday. I should have stayed clear but I was craving filipino food so bad. Silly me…

I’m rating it a 3 bc the food is great, but the service is slow. I’d rate the service a 1. We went on a Sunday evening and there were only 2 other tables that were eating, so when we came in, we were the 3rd table to be serviced… then 2 more tables after us. They brought us our water immediately, but didn’t refill or check on us after they served and took orders from the 2 tables after us! I was so parched and since I’m pregnant, I get so thirsty very quickly! There were only 2 people working the front, but they seemed to have disappeared for a while. I’m Filipino, so I will admit that the food is like home and it was delicious! But they could do so much better with service. No one likes to wait that long for food or drinks!

The servers don’t care about the people and they take so long to refill and get your order. We ordered the sisig and the crispy Pata, but they don’t serve the crispy Pata at night, which is kind of sad. The sisig looks nice. However, it doesn’t tastes like the one you can find in the Philippines, the sisig is rather bland and greasy. Not the best experience I expected.

Their lumpia is amazing and worth your money and the Ube ice cream and the Turon are 5 stars!!! It’s a new restaurant so we were basically the only people there unfortunately. I really hope this place gets more popular since getting lumpia and ube cream is a real treat! The restaurant was clean but can benefit to update their furnishings as I still felt like I was in a Denny’s(what the building was before) I say give it a try! The lechon, Manila nachos, and chicken adobo was fabulous.

I should have follow my instincts and never wasted my time to come over all the way from Brandon. Upon entering, there’s this bad smell as the«greeters» and there are couples dish on the menu that is not available. It’s totally disgusting to eat here. The Bantus that we ordered was burn. I would not visit this place not recommend this place.

My second time around. Nothing special about the food and I am not even sure if it’s a Pilipino cooking back there cause it was not that good! I figured my visit wasn’t vividly at all only the octopus and the cold beer. Anyway this second visit, I wanted the Bulaklak, a fried delicacy and when it came I had to send back cause some were raw! Wished who ever cooked knew what he was doing. Then we ordered Shang Hai egg rolls, this order was pretty good for eight pieces coming with sweet sauce. And then the Pancit drenched with soy sauce, so imagine that flavor and saltiness? They do have a DJ as well as karaōke so if you are into that, go for it cause it was good. 3 star earned tonight if karaōke was included other than than food sucks! I deeply apologize for the Americans who came cause they were clues less what they were eating.

First time that I visited this place is when they open the restaurant. It was chaotic. we waited for hours to get our bucket of beer and we ended up going to the bar and getting it for ourselves. they said that they did not anticipate the huge crowd who attended the opening but my point is you had invited people in Facebook to come join you opening the bar/restaurant and not getting more staff/help for that evening. its not acceptable. The food was not that great as I expected. That night it was horrible experience. and I promise not to come back again. But i broke that promise because my mom asked to go to this placed for her bday lunch. and again i got disappointed the food was not good and they are expensive. I can go to Filipiniana Philippine Café to get better food with better price. and my mom can cook better food that there food and she even said it too. The third time i visited this place was with my friend because one of my friends friend was there for a event and we ordered a bucket of filipino beer. we were not expecting that price until we received our bill. to charge a bucket of beer for 20 dollars I think that is too much. I don’t know if this will last but if you guys want this place to last longer keep your prices competitive and make your food better. That’s all i can say. I support Filipino restaurant, café, and store but please make it accebtable.

I’m going to need to try a few more items before rendering more than a 3-star review for Filipino Fusion Bar and Grill because what I had was good, but not great overall. LUMPIA — Outstanding. Tastes just like my friend’s mom used to make. Make sure you order some of these as a starter! CHORIZOSLIDERS — No me gusta! They looked great, but they were gamier than ESPN. See what I did there? told the server we didn’t like ‘em and she was too aloof to realize I wanted a credit, or she was utterly unconcerned, but definitely one of the two. PANCIT — Not as good as home-cooked, but very much acceptable for anyone who has a hankerin’. Portion was huge and big enough for two. The owner is great. We love this lady. She makes her rounds to each table and I can tell she wants the business to succeed. Will be back!

We have invited a family to try this new Filipino restaurant and we all excited. We reach there at Saturday 6:15 and we are the only second group of the customer. Later it filled up with another 6 table before we left the restaurant. They are not that busy. They also advertise you can watch the Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao 5÷2÷2015 fight there. Manny Pacquiao is Pilipino super lightweight boxer. The waitress is kind to explain to us each dish and what materials are used. We have started two appetizers. The chicken wing with adobo glaze and the chicken sisig lettuce wrap. We like the chicken sisig. I think if they add some sweet sauce, it will make this dish more attractive. The chicken wing is fried. They are nicely fried plainly. Then it adds the adobo glaze sauce. The chicken wing batter before fried can be adding some spice to enhance the flavor. The dishes are beef toscilog, Crispy pata kare kare, mixed grill. The beef toscilog come with half cook egg that you can break the egg yolk and mix with the rice. The pan grill beef make this dish desirable. The crispy pata is the fried pig feet. The pig feet are the lower part of the leg. I prefer upper part which has more meat. The pig feet are fried and I like the other sauce instead of kare kare sauce. The mixed grill is the squid, pork belly, chicken and eggplant. Among them I like the grilled eggplant. This is the most expansive dish in the menu $ 32. Three of us stomach did not receive the food well for this dish. We believe the squid is not the fresh material that causes this. Base on Filipino food, the price is at the high side. Quality of material is not the best such as the squid. Service is slow and checks back frequently. Restaurant is well decorated. I think it is worth for a try and been there done that type of deal.

Stay away!!! The people that run this place do not care about their restaurant. Poorly trained wait staff. No paper towels in the bathroom. No pride. Then the food. Greasy and disgusting! I said something to the waitress about all of this but since she was so poorly trained she had no clue what to do. This place will be out of business very soon. Do not waste your time or money!!! My mouth tastes like a dirty fryalator as I write this.

I would give them a ZEROSTARS if I could for sanitary problems. Forget the food, I went to the men’s room after a ho hum meal, while at the urinal, I saw a kitchen worker go in to a stall, he may have been the chef, while I was washing my hands, the kitchen worker walked right out of the stall in a hurry and left the men’s room without washing his hands! This was right in front of me, a customer! Ex customer! It’s a shame, I wanted to try other dishes and I don’t like giving a bad review, but I have to be honest.

So our friend told us about this place and we gave it a try. the first time we came, they had problems in the kitchen so they have to close for the day. Oh yeahh. That was very disappointing after being so excited and driving for an hour to get to this place. After a few months, my wife and i decided to give it another try. Just to make sure, we gave them a call first and was told that they are open until 10pm. When we came in, the place was nice and cold. Clean since they are relative new. Bathroom was clean so its a good sign. Lol! We ordered pork sisig and crispy pata kare-kare. Started with Pinoy Calamari which we find it to be just so-so. Didnt blow us off our socks. The pork sisig. was way below par for having the true pepper-lemon sting on it. The kare-kare was presented differently, its deconstructed. Its good that the shrimp paste or bagoong was really good. Overall, this would be a good place to hang out for some comedy music karaōke event while enjoying some drinks or beer. Is it good for grabbing a lunch or dinner? Hmmm. Let’s just say that i will have hesitation to recommend it.

This is my first experience at a Filipino restaurant. So take my comments accordingly. I am very perceptive about ethnic food. I can tell the difference between the real thing and the thing they water down for commercial audiences in the US. The cooking and seasoning here are the real deal, meaning it’s flavorful and strong, not weak. It’s not about being hot and spicy(unless we are taking Mexican). It’s about being well seasoned and flavorful. The food here is certainly that. The Lumpia was nice and crispy. The pork on the Manila Nachos was delicious, although I’m accustomed to nachos that are more loaded. I found the service competent. My Coke glass was refilled promptly. The food came out within a reasonable amount of time. The presentation was good. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. I’ll be back. Take that for what it’s worth.

Went for a Saturday lunch with a large group around Noon. Clean, not crowded, and serving full menu. Lumpia Shanghai was tasty, though not very large portion. Fried Calamari was good, lightly dusted and good crunch. Mixed grill seafood platter was plentiful, but a bit bland. Kaldereta was tender and had good taste. Crispy Pata was also good. Highlight was the Turon dessert! Attentive staff and will likely go again.

With the sudden growth of filipino food in the mainstream today, i was so happy to see another filipino restaurant having a chance to help spread our culture & foods to curious eaters across the bay area. Known formerly as the Pacifico Latin restaurant, the cooks here are of filipino backgrounds, to which the owners are making their 1st attempt to convert their restaurant into a filipino restaurant with the hopes of sparking a new client base. They do have a few creative dishes on the menu(adobo quesadillas, sisig burrito & chicken rice bowls) which, as a fellow Filipino myself, am very intrigued & interested in trying one day. Of the dishes we tried, we were pleased and came out with full bellies and lot of food to take home. After the second time visiting and having had a chance to now sample a few items on the menu, here are my reviews on some of their dishes: The chicken sisig lettuce wraps i ordered was a little on the creamy side which threw me off a little as it had a mayo like sauce mixed in with it. The chicken wings w/adobo glaze came out very crispy and each piece was huge, however the adobo sauce to me tasted more like a teriyaki type of sauce. The tocilog & tapsilog is served over a plate of garlic fried rice & fried egg(yey!) and had a vinegar type of taste to each, which i expected with the tapsilog but not with the tocilog as I was expecting more of a sweet sugary taste to it(?). The lumpia shanghai was crisp and delish and i loved the fact that it came with 9 bite sized pieces. The crispy pata kare kare was a cool interesting fusion on a traditional classic Filipino dish but was a little pricey($ 17!) & came with the warning that it takes about 30mins to prepare. I loved their leche flan! We came on a friday night and the place only had a few tables full but the potential of this place can be seen as they had a stage setup that can be used for live bands. There are also advertisements for various future concerts to be held at the restaurant which looked cool. As we were leaving, the DJ walked in and was starting to set up, which i’m sure will make for a fun atmosphere. The staff was very nice and always checked up on us. Thank you! The owner came up to our table and asked us if everything was alright. Our waitress was very attentive and even tried her best to describe the dishes to us when we had our questions. Plus they serve San Miguel, San Mig Light & Red horse beers which was cool Looking forward to seeing the growth of this restaurant in the near future!

My visit to the Filipino Fusion Bar and Grill was the result of a happy accident, and I am delighted that I chose to eat here. So there I was, innocently minding my own business after some Christmas shopping in the Citrus Park area. I wanted to try something new for dinner, and so I called up my trusty Unilocal bookmarks to see what was nearby. My friends Mark & Gigi had told me about a Latin seafood restaurant near the intersection of Sheldon Road and Hillsborough Avenue, and so I set off in search of this place. Come to find out that the Pacific Coast Latin Seafood & Cantina had gone out of business, and in it’s place stood a new restaurant advertising Filipino Fusion cuisine. (You’ll find Filipino Fusion restaurant just south of Hillsborough Avenue along Sheldon Road /Memorial Highway. It sits in a corner of the big Home Depot shopping center. Look for the stand-alone white building with the blue roof.) Filipino food is something new for me. I’ve tried the cuisine a few times in the past and really enjoyed the flavors, but honestly did not know very much about what to order. Thankfully I have several Filipino friends who kindly pointed me in the right direction whenever I looked cross-eyed at the menu, and as a result I have learned some of the basic dishes and tastes. Filipino Fusion restaurant blends a lot of tastes, and brings a sophisticated type of Pinoy cuisine to the Tampa area. For the record, «Pinoy» is a colloquial term for the people from the Philippines, and it is formed by taking the last four letters of the word«Filipino» and adding a Y. Filipino Fusion is divided into two sections — a bar area with high-top stools and tall tables, and a restaurant area with lots of comfy booths. I was able to take plenty of pictures inside the restaurant, so you’ll get a good view of the layout. The menu is a very nice blend of Filipino and Latin fusion flavors which means that you’ll find the traditional lumpia-style eggrolls, stuffed long peppers, chicken sisig lettuce wraps, ceviche, and chorizo burger sliders for some of the appetizer choices. They also serve tacos, quesadillas, and burritos that marry the Asian and Latin flavors in some unique ways — Pork Tocino, Fried Tofu, Pork or Chicken Sisig, and Lechon Kawali for the fillings as examples. You’ll also find Pinoy Cheese Steaks, Longganisa burgers, and chicken Inasal sandwiches. The entrée menu is a creative offering of upscale Filipino cuisine with the traditional sizzling platters of chicken or pork sisig; deep-fried pork belly; stewed beef; shrimp & pork simmering in coconut milk; and Pinakbet which is a stir-fry dish with squash, okra, long beans, and pork. The chef has also added some seafood specialties including deep-fried whole shrimp marinated in beer; grilled whole squid; and fried whole tilapia. Since I was feeling adventurous, I started with the Lumpiang Shanghai which were seasoned ground pork eggrolls served with a sweet chili sauce. Very delicious! For my main course I ordered the Seafood Kare-Kare which was a Cioppino-like seafood stew made with a combination of head-on shrimp, calamari, black mussels and a mix of vegetables including squash, baby bok choy, and long beans, all served in a homemade peanut broth. That came with a side of white rice, and bagoong which is a paste made from fermented fish or shrimp, mixed with salt. It is similar in taste to Asian fish sauce, though not as strong. The peanut sauce by itself is quite mild, so I added in the bagoong and some rice, and was soon spooning the yumminess into my mouth. Towards the end of the meal, Chef RJ came out to say Hi, and we had a nice visit. It turns out that Filipino Fusion opened last weekend, as the Pacific Coast Seafood place had not been successful. He reworked the menu to incorporate many of his favorite Filipino dishes, but kept much of the interior decorations intact. RJ said that he researches culinary trends in the Philippines and tries to incorporate those flavors into his menu. Lots of exciting ideas for this new restaurant. On Fridays they hope to have a special pig roast with Filipino beers and fun times. They are already advertising karaōke nights. RJ and his team have some great ideas, and I hope that our local Filipino and Unilocal communities will support his business. Very delicious Filipino food at affordable prices!
