I stopped in for a slice of Supreme and a Garlic Knot. The slice was HUGE — larger than both my outstretched hands, and the ingredients were fresh. The garlic knot was the size of a baseball ans drenched in yummy garlic butter. All for four dollars and change.

When I moved to Tampa it did not take very long before I heard repeatedly to try Eddie and Sam’s pizza. To be honest I was a bit skeptical because I have never liked New York style pizza from places that claim to make NY pizza. I finally found a winner! This is the best NY style pizza I have ever ate. The look and taste is all NY. I am hooked and in fact craving a slice while I write this review.

Absolutely amazing Pizza. The sauce was some of the best I’ve had. It was very tasty and authentic. I can’t wait to go back. It felt like being in New York.

This is by far the absolute BESTNYPIZZA in Florida. I had a Lasagna slice and a Supreme slice and my son had a cheese calzone. The crust is delicious and crispy! Good to the last bite! Will be going back to take my inlaws. For dessert I had MY cheesecake which brought this native New Yorker down memory lane. Creamy with that hint of lemon and sour cream and a simple graham cracker crust. My son had the Gelatto and he loved it! Can’t say enough! Oh they also have a lunch special of 2 cheese slices with a soda for $ 5.99 so it’s a win-win no matter what your budget is.

PIZZA — 100 SERVICE — 40 Building — Looks very similar to any NY Pizza shop The service here SUCKS, it’s a bunch of Puerto Rican kids with no respect who act like idiots and check their phones all day. The owner really needs to step it up on the service HOWEVER The pizza is A1 New York. The Eggplant Pizza is amazing as well as the simple, basic, pepperoni pizza. Also, they give extra free marinana. Which is AWESOME !

This place is absolutely one of the best pizza places in Tampa. I read many reviews before visiting and you can taste the freshness of the pizza dough and the quality of the sauce in every bite. While they are a bit more expensive than some, it is well worth paying a few extra bucks for NY style that is just about perfect. I’ve only been here 2 times… the 1st time I ordered the 2 slice special which was good but the 2nd time I ordered my own cheese pie and I was extremely impressed. Oh and both times I have been here was mid afternoon on a Saturday and both times they were packed with people so it wasn’t like they were busy because all the people that work in the city were packing the place. I can’t wait to go back to this place and try something new.

Such good pizza. Don’t care about the claim of New York water; the pizza is delicious without all that hoopla. The meat lovers and white garlic are yummy.

I had heard a lot about Eddie and Sam’s, but I hadn’t gotten there until recently. Oh, what I’ve been missing. My sister and I came here for dinner before a movie in Ybor, and I have to admit, I was a little hesitant to venture there during dinner time in downtown Tampa. Parking is really tough to find around there, unless you are willing to pay a significant amount of dollars in the parking lot across the street. But, it’s worth it. Oh, so worth it. I got a slice of the Lasagna pizza and a slice of something else, which was also tasty but I can’t remember what it was because oh my goodness the Lasagna pizza. The Lasagna pizza. This slice of pizza was sent from the heavens. It tastes just like lasagna, and I can’t even accurately describe it’s deliciousness. It is really rich, so just one slice is plenty. I didn’t need the other slice I got, as I was full after one slice of the Lasagna pizza. Go here, order this pizza, and be really happy with life.

My new favorite pizza place in Tampa. Why? It’s the only pizza place that reminds me of New York pizza. Perhaps it’s because they supposedly have water from NY imported here for their pizza? As silly as that sounds, I think it may have actually made a difference. The atmosphere feels like your typical NY pizza joint. It was clean, had a bit of bustle, and people yelling out pizza orders. Pizza was roughly $ 3 – 4 a slice(they’re large). Worth it! We tried the Sausage & Pepperoni, Chicken Parmesan, Pepperoni, and Hawaiian pizzas. Chicken Parmesan was my absolute favorite! The chunks of chicken parm and ricotta really hit the spot and reminded me so much of NY pizza. It came with a homemade marinara sauce too. The sausage and pepperoni were sooo good! It’s a different kind of sausage and pepperoni — not the ones you’re used to from Papa Johns/Dominos/Pizza Hut. Hawaiian pizza was good as well, but I really preferred the Italian types of pizzas more. I feel like their speciality Pizzas are the way to go in order to experience how awesome this place is! Next time, I will definitely order the Lasagna, Eggplant Parm, and Greek pizzas next. They looked so good! We also tried the Panna Cotta gelato and a cannoli. Both were delicious! The cannoli was perfect — crispy, but not too crispy to hurt your teeth or break into a hundred pieces at once.

This is my absolute favorite NY style pizza in Tampa! I have a few friends that are haters and like to say that NYNY or somewhere else has better pizza, but they are wrong! They have copious amounts of pizza’s by the slice. You can choose from various kinds like eggplant parm, cheese, veggie, buffalo chicken, chicken bacon ranch, lasagna, pepperoni, greek, white, supreme and the list goes on and on. Odds are if you like a certain kind of pizza they have it here. One slice can fill me up as they are huge! I sometimes get two slices because who can choose when there are so many options. I love that you can buy by the slice or the pie because it really helps when coming with a group as to satisfy everyone. Not mention the prices aren’t too bad since you can get 2 slices for under $ 8 or you can get their 5.99 deal that gets you 2 slices of cheese and a soda! My personal favorites here are eggplant parm, chicken parm, supreme, and good olé cheese.

By far the best pizza you’ll find in Tampa. I’m a huge fan of their chicken Parma pizza. Nice to find a family owned restaurant that still serves pizza by the slice. Can’t go wrong with Eddie and Sams… the pizza slices are huge and packed with cheese and flavor. It’s such a good deal. I get 2 huge slices of pizza for under $ 7 and it’s so hard to even finish the 2nd slice.

Snugged in Downtown Tampa on the corner is where you will find Eddie and Sam! AFTER my workout(don’t judge) I decided I wanted pizza. I turned to Unilocal and rolled on over to meet Eddie and Sam. I was just in the middle of the lunch rush but the workers was bustin and movin. The line was going and going. I ordered a simple pepperoni and supreme pizza. Cost me about $ 6.50, not too bad the slices were humongous. The pizza wasn’t bad and it wasn’t amazing. It was just pizza. Granted I have never been to NY so, I don’t know first hand how authentic NY pizza tastes. However, Eddie and Sam have good pizza it’s just not something to write home about.

This is my favorite pizza spot in town. I’m so sad that they’re close on Mondays otherwise, I would eat it 7 times a week. Its that good! I love the lasagna, eggplant Parmesan, and supreme slices. It is a very casual place. When you walk you, you can line up to pick the huge slice(s) of pizza you want. There is another room in the restaurant in which they serve gelato and other deserts– they’re all good. Make sure you get a large gelato and at least 2 slices per person because trust me, you would not want to line up again.

They have a wide variety of semi-interesting pizzas available by the slice. The price was cheap for the size of the slices but the pizza was hard as a rock. Perhaps that is due to the imported hard water from New York? I suppose I’ve never been a fan of the pre-made-and-heat-up-later style of pizza so popular in New York. I’m still not a fan now. But, with a large hungry crowd on hand, they cranked through the flood of orders incredibly fast, throwing each slice in the oven to reheat. I’d highly recommend knowing what you want before approaching the counter as I was afforded a few scant seconds to blurt it out. My wife was patient with this pizza experiment while I felt my lasagna slice was pretty bland. However, I liked the concept and creativity.

— Short Synopsis — Great tasting food with good quality ingredients! A nice NY type of ambiance to it as well! Plus, they have sweets as well, like gelato! How«sweet» is that? — Detailed Summary — Since it’s within walking distance of many attractions in the area, like the Curtis waterfront park, there is a lot of foot traffic around the pizza joint. This helps give it a cool New York City vibe and ambiance with all the people walking about, in, and out of Eddie & Sam’s. The smaller size of the establishment also helps contribute to the New York sized pizzerias ambiance. Of course, serving NY style pizza also helps. There were so many kinds of delicious sounding pizza, and all the ones I tried tasted delicious! Some of them sound interesting like the Chicken Parm Pizza. That one wasn’t too bad and did remind of a chicken parm! Also, the size of a slice is large and filling. The variety encourages me to want to come back again to try more! The garlic knots were good and had a nice, strong flavor to them. Now, for the gelato, it was pretty good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. They also had other sweets, which gives me another good reason to come back to Eddie & Sam’s! My one minor issue was that I wish they heated my slices up more, but that could’ve just been an employee error and I could of taken it home to heat it up. The taste was still there and it was not cold. I think I might order a whole pizza to get it freshly baked next time. I look forward to coming back to Eddie and Sam’s.

We used to come here for lunch all the time when I worked downtown and always liked it. Well it has been a year and it was as good as I remember! We ordered takeout over the weekend and it was still packed in the restaurant at 9:00 pm! We got a medium half and half pizza and it was bigger than me! My half was the tomato basil with olive oil, and my boyfriends half was a supreme. We each got a garlic knot as well and my boyfriend had an order of wings. I could only eat 1 piece and I was stuffed! We will definitely be back but will definitely order by the slice instead of an entire pizza!

There’s a reason that Eddie & Sam’s is always busy; it’s the best pizza I’ve found in Tampa yet! The restaurant imports water from New York to make their dough and some say that this is the reason it’s so delicious. I’ve never had authentic NY pizza, but these enormous slices of heaven have me sold on it. If you’re looking for the best way to start your meal, the garlic knots are divine! For only $ 0.79, you get a knot the size of your fist that’s drizzled with butter and minced garlic. It also comes with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. I could eat one every day and never get tired of it! When you check-in on Unilocal, you can get a free cannoli with the purchase of the two slice + drink special. So far I’ve tried the classic cheese, pepperoni, and bianca pizzas. All of them were terrific! On my last visit, I had the stuffed meat roll and it might be my new favorite. It’s packed with ham, sausage, pepperoni, meatball, and mozzarella. There was more than enough to share and we took leftovers home. I’ve certainly never left hungry! The interior is nothing special. it’s your typical lunch counter. The restaurant is divided into two areas: the pizza side and the bakery/dessert side. You can order different types of gelato or choose from an assortment of Italian bakery items. There’s even a Coke freestyle machine, which is always a plus for the adventurous drinker. One thing is for sure: anytime I’m downtown for an event or in the area for lunch, you will find me at Eddie & Sam’s.

First time here and it deserves 3 ½ but I rounded up because even though it was packed, service is quick. So yes, I grew up a stones throw from Nyc on Long Island. The thin crispy pizza is somewhat close but loses points with the sauce. It folds like a ny pizza and is crispy but needs a bit more sauce. Maybe because they are already prepared and just warmed when you order it, and tastes a bit on the bland side. 4 stars for Tampa but not your typical slice of real New York. Still, I would go again when downtown. The cannoli was pretty good and they have lots of gelato flavors.
