Classics Haircuts for Kids

We just left Gina and I had to leave a raving comment! She was fabulous with my 20 month old who, in the past, has cried bloody murder every time we love his cut, so stylish and we will definitely be loyal customers from here on out!

Gina scheduled an adequate amount of time to allow my husband and I to get our 7 month old situated and take nice pics during his first haircut. Gina is patient and friendly. Our son took to her readily and got a great haircut which looked good and suited his hair type. I am about to call to schedule our next appointment! My husband was not a big believer in «haircuts for kids» places and had wanted me to take our son to a standard barber, but I think he appreciated the level of service (including Mickey Mouse on the screen to keep our son occupied) and commented to me on how wonderful Classics is as a place to take kids for a trim.

It was time to cut my 16 month old’s hair. I was dreading it. I couldn’t imagine his baby curls disappearing. We walked in prepared for wailing and gnashing, and there was a chance my son would get upset too.
Gina was wonderful! Fast, cheerful and positive. She gave him the trim he needed, kept his curls, and made a sweet keepsake of his hair.
And my son was mesmerized by Madagascar on the tv and sitting in an airplane. Afterwards he got to play with the trains in the lobby.
I did okay. Only cried a little bit.
Overall, a wonderful experience and we look forward to returning.

LOVE LOVE Ms Gina and her place. My 2 year old even likes to stay and play with the toys after he’s done. She does a great job and cuts his hair exactly as I ask.

Have a toddler with super long locks that need trimming? There aren’t many places designed for kids to get a cut these days. But luckily I found this gem. What I love here is the little plane and police car your little one sits in while getting a cut. Not to mention a large screen tv playing animation movies to distract your curious little booger. Face it… It’s scary for a little kid to get their first hair cut. This place does it right. –awesome toys to play with as soon as you walk in, a Wonka station and juice bar… It eases any kid before the big hair cutting event.
My son sat calmly eating his lollipop and watching a movie all while getting his hair cut. It’s a few dollars more than other places but worth it. I once tried holding my son down at a super cuts while he screamed and cried every time someone got close to him with the scissors. So the few extra dollars for his and MY sanity is worth it. Not to mention the owner here does a really great job cutting hair.

My niece thought she would express her personality with a scissors and her hair. Chop chop chop. OH NO! So with no choice but to try to salvage that situation – because she’s not the kind to do anything by half measure – we wanted somewhere that could handle her two year old ball of endless energy. Classics Haircuts IS THE PLACE. Even if the best they could do was a buzz cut that will grow into a pixie… we were resigned to that going in.
With someone this strong-​willed about herself and her opinions (her stubbornness cannot be overstated), we were geared up for tantrums and screaming and horror before we got there, even though I knew we had a cute kids place from the pictures. Oh my gosh, I’m so glad that this place is what it is, because we had none of that.
Instead of tantrums, we had a wonderful play area and the patience to get used to her new place. We had choices like what you she wanted to take with her or whether she wanted to sit in a plane or a car. There is a large screen movie instead of a mirror, so they can watch and not get freaked out by the hair. Above all, there is a deep understanding of kids and what freaks them out – a quiet clippers, almost no scissors, no spraying water directly on the hair, and a reveal at the end instead of seeing what was happening during.
I can’t say any of us are happy with the haircut, but that’s because *someone* cut it to within a half inch of her scalp on the top of her head. I do think it’s the best that we could have gotten, and the patience and love and comfort from coming here was well worth it. I highly recommend this place for your kids, both in person and on Unilocal

Gina was awesome! She really knows how to handle a wiggly kid. My 1 ½ year old boy does not like getting his hair done and needed a kid specialist, she did awesome! Both kids hair came out perfect!

Wonderful for my little boys haircuts! He loves the toys and décor! The owner is wonderful with my son and so friendly. The haircuts always look so great, and its tough to get a 14 month old to sit still! We are here once a month like clockwork. Love it.

My 7.5M old son cannot sit still. He is a ball of energy. Not. Kidding. So when it became time to finally get his haircut for his baptism weekend I was nervous. Obviously, I don’t trust myself w scissors to cut his hair myself.
I asked my fellow MoMs where I should go due to his age. Their answer — hands down — Classics Haircut For Kids! Now, lemme tell you it’s not cheap but who wouldn’t pay $ 20 for their baby’s first haircut. Gina was awesome! She was quick, precise and comforting to our son. He looks even more handsome now than he already did. Very pleased!!! We will be back!
In the window on a BIG sign it states — Appointments Encouraged! Please call and do make an appointment. The previous review gave a low rating but clearly this is not Super Cuts or Great Cłips where you just walk in. You can, you may just have to wait and who wants to do that ever with an infant or toddler.

While visiting our son and his family, we went with our grandson along with his dad to get his first haircut. We immediately were greeted by Gina, the owner of the shop. Her shop had a barber chairs fashioned as a NYPD car and an airplane ready for take-​off. Both had steering wheels for the young customer to drive. There was a large flat screen TV playing a popular movie that could be seen while driving the car/​plane. There were numerous toys to play with while you are waiting which isn’t very long as Gina plans her appointments appropriately. Our grandson is only 2 and LOVES TO EXPLORE HIS SURROUNDINGS! But once seated in the car, Gina draped him with a cape and began cutting. We were so surprised that our little one never once tried to climb out or move his head all over the place. Gina talked gently to our little explorer as she used the electric razor quickly and precisely. She let our grandson know everything that she was doing. When Gina was finished, our little grandson looked liked the cutest young MAN you ever did see! It was very evident that Gina KNOWS and LOVES children! We highly recommend Gina to anyone who has young children who may be leery of haircuts! GREAT JOB, GINA!

Great place! She was so friendly and patient with my daughter. The cut was adorable. Definetly coming back — she was just so nice!
