Growing up in a relatively small town, we only had a few options for dining out and Chili’s was by far the most popular. That meant birthdays, get-togethers, and special occasions were always spent there. This tends to burn you out on restaurants, but somehow I still find myself at Chili’s even after I’ve moved away! Whether you’re partaking in the 2-for-1 margaritas or just enjoying lunch on your own, the bar is always a great option for being seated quickly. Otherwise, you can experience quite a wait because this Chili’s is always busy! There are TVs in the bar area as well, so you won’t miss a second of the game. The great thing about Chili’s is that there really is something on the menu for everyone. Choose from chicken, steak, or fish to burgers, fajitas, and salads! I love the 2 for $ 20 deal and they’ve recently implemented an option where you can pick two or three Fresh Mex pairings. The menu does seem to be leaning towards a more Tex-Mex feel than it had been previously, but everything I’ve tried so far has been alright. However, I do prefer to stick with the original menu items like the Cajun Chicken Pasta or Chicken Crispers. This location on N Dale Mabry is in a plaza with a few other restaurants and bars. Depending on when you go, parking can be dreadful since there are so many other establishments all vying for the same spots. One thing I dislike about this particular location is that the service never seems to be that great. Everything runs slow no matter what time of day it is. The addition of touch-screen ordering systems on the table has helped speed things up a bit, but not much. It is really helpful in allowing you to pay your check more quickly though! While Chili’s may never be my first or favorite choice, but it will always be one of those easy, back-burner options for a family meal.

So I love chili’s. I eat there alot, but not this location. Well the hostess was blah to say the least and since I was freezing and left my sweater at home. We ate outside, which I thought would be different since my Chili’s doesn’t have an outside area. Well once you go out there you are completely forgotten about. Then the waiter had a dry/smartass sense of humor. No refills, ever. No checking on us for over 40 minutes… we saw him again when the food was delivered. They were not busy and the food was wrong. We got it corrected by the manager who also took off 1 item to help make us feel better but he even seemed less than thrilled to be bothered by us. The chairs outside lean, so you are so far away from the table, we had to sit on the edge. The chairs were also cheap cheap cheap and uncomfortable! I won’t be back unless I have to…

The steaks here are terrible. We ordered two ribeyes and the were both 1⁄3 fat with no marbling. Broccoli was in flavorful and had only been steamed, no salt or anything. Just terrible food.

Nothing bad to say here the food was great! Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The place wasn’t very busy during my visit but still very clean. The manager was very professional as well coming by to check on everyone. I never once had to look for the waitress never once ran out of anything witch is rare lol but awesome. Everyone’s had chili’s before but this particular location has there stuff together. Great job guys and i will for sure be back.

Chilis is just good fun, food is good, but sometimes the service is poor. This visit was just that. A couple things I really hate, running out of whatever I’m drinking with my meal, and not getting parts of my order. Also happened on this visit, all related to the service of course. But the food is pretty tasty.

First time at this location as I’m here in vacation. The restaurant was very clean and the guy who helped check out my to go order was a nice guy, I think he was a manager. Food was cooked great and the orders were put together the way we’d asked. No complaints really from here as things turned out just as nicely as I could have asked.

I like chili’s but it has become mainstream and average with all the cool restaurants coming out. One thing that annoys me is the change in fajitas. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Their margaritas are still top notch. Their service is mediocre. I will more than likely be back, it just won’t be my first choice.

I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and it was awful. Tasted frozen and the bun was greasy, they replaced that sandwich with the sliced turkey sandwich. This was made with everything on 1 side and almost nothing on the other. Onion rings were cold and tasted fresh frozen. Could not eat them. Steak was medium to raw in the center. We use to love Chill’s but another one put profits over food.

This location keeps the temperatures FREEZING. Food is par for the course at a Chili’s, but I will never come back here because the cold. Can’t enjoy hot food when it gets cold in seconds. :(

Terrible service. It took over 45 minutes for our order. Server did not show much enthusiasm in keeping our drinks full, no courtesy heads up that the kitchen was back up. We will not return to this Chilis.

I’m really impressed by their ability to accommodate large groups, even without notice – we came in late, unannounced, and after a reasonably short wait all 18 of us were able to get seated together in our own little alcove. We had fabulous service – never an empty drink – and the food was the solid staples I expect from a Chili’s franchise. Good food, great service, affordable price.

You don’t go to Chili’s for a gourmet meal, you go for the consistency if you’ve found some menu items you like, and that’s exactly what this Chili’s gives you. You’ve got the same feel, same decorations on the wall from back when the place actually served real Chili, same people, usually polite but not necessarily the most efficient or happy, serving the same food and the same drinks at the same prices as any other Chili’s. On my most recent visit, apparently they were down a few servers, so even though there were at least six to eight open tables, we were told we’d need to wait 10 to 15 minutes to be seated. No idea why that would be handled in such a way; I’d rather sit in an actual seat and at least have a water than sit or stand in the waiting area, after it became standing room only, with nothing. In any case, this Chili’s has one big problem; the success of World of Beer next door. WoB patrons often completely fill the parking lot so if you want to go to Chili’s, good luck. If you do get in, then you already know what to expect because it’s a Chili’s. The bar area of this Chili’s was completely remodeled in 2014 and is much better now; the bar was expanded by at least eight or ten seats and there additional TV’s were added. I almost always sit in the bar because, unbeknownst to most people, you get their tostada chips and salsa for FREE when sitting at the bar, and I actually really like them; the chips are super thin and the salsa has a bit of a kick to it. As far as regular food goes, I tend to just focus on the burgers. Old Timer, Guacamole with turkey patty, Smokehouse, etc. Sometimes I go for the chicken tacos too. All of those items I consider to be very above average for what they are, compared to the other options close by. Obviously there are much better burgers to be had in the Bay Area if you’re willing to drive, but I live near this location so they’re a pretty decent option when I’m feeling a burger. I’d say Gino’s Italian Restaurant on Armenia is the closest place with a much better burger, but they don’t have liquor, and I like my booze! Did I say I like booze? Yes, that’s the other reason to come to Chili’s. They generally serve fairly strong liquor drinks and at a good price, like the two for one wells or tall doubles. The margaritas I generally don’t go for since they use too much mix and they’re over priced; for margs, I go about a mile south on Dale Mabry to the mighty Señor Tequila. The Chili’s relatively weak ‘presidente’ for $ 12 or whatever they want for it these days, you can do much better at Señor. Anyway, the place is generally clean, generally nice, it’s a Chili’s, so if that’s what you’re craving, go for it.

Chili’s is usually consistent, but so far nor happy. Two menus had to be returned because they were filthy with crusted food. Not a good start. The margaritas I used to enjoy were horrible and had to go back. It was almost painful because it took forever to get in the first place. Have not been to a chili’s in about a year but the quality has definitely dropped. Their small steak used to be a good steak. Tonight I could not determine what cut it was, except it was deformed and totally unappealing with grill marks on one side, grease on the other. This too was replaced by a perfectly cooked steak(I think the larger cut) but was about as what I would imagine to be Dennys ! And they have a computer thing that allows you to order drinks and pay your bill, knowing that the servers are mia most of the time. Although ours was pleasant when located. And SO noisy, mostly with screeching children, out past their bedtime. Chili’s can’t help that, but maybe they were screaming for food or service or the quality of the food.

What makes this Chili’s unique? Outdoor patio seating facing a pond with waterfall! We all know we can count on Chili’s for repeatedly good food, drinks and bottomless chips, right? However, because the center area is a sports bar, it can be loud and distracting if you are not there for a game so the patio provides a nice seating alternative to enjoy the great food, better outside atmosphere and conversation. Fans are on the patio and it is pretty quiet. Costwise, if you are not a past Chili’s chain customer: $ 6 salsa or queso and chips, soups, etc. — the soups are good by the way! $ 9 – 15 tex mex offerings of ribs, burgers, steaks, fajitas, etc. The ribs are excellent! Dinner salads run about $ 12. This is an older restaurant, but they keep it up. Parking is a bit crowded because this is in the center of Carrollwood, but if you wind around the lot you can find a space. You can always count on Chili’s food and this location provides a nice, outside eating area that keeps bringing you back!

The Presidente Margarita always hits the spot, but the food has never blown me away. It’s consistent and usually has good flavor, but there’s just nothing on the menu that screams originality. It seems like lately they are going back to a tex-mex type of menu and have dropped some of the more American dishes. One of the things I did enjoy, other than the margarita, is the new touch screen device at each table. You can reorder drinks and even close out your check and pay right at the table. It definitely saves time when things get busy and sometimes paying the check traditionally can add 20 minutes or more to a meal, so I’m a fan.

Chili’s to me is like your favorite pair of slippers. It is warm, inviting, comfortable and always just feels right. Chili’s started an evolution of similar type establishments, but it is my personal fave. Depending on the time of day it can get loud, but you always here laughter. I have been coming here for so many years and seen the vast menu changes. I am still happy with my Outliner burger and their great fries, they really do usually get the fries right. Of course I try other things, but this is kind of my go to meal. Throw in a few cocktails, some conversation and you get that warm feeling of wearing your favorite slippers. They all have a big bar area with tv’s and the rest of the restaurant is rather ordinary, nothing special. The food quality is fairly consistent. You won’t find any 1* items and you would be hard pressed to find any 5* items, in my humble opinion. What you can find is many dishes to satisfy what you are craving and give you an enjoyable experience. Chili’s is Chili’s, just like Ruth Chris is Ruth Chris. Chili’s doesn’t pretend to be Bern’s or Five Guys, it stands alone, proudly serving what has kept people coming back for over 20 years. You really can’t go wrong at Chili’s, as long as you are expecting Chili’s. P. S. they have nice quick lunches, for when you are on the go and take out, when you don’t feel like cooking. What’s a girl to do? Some old habits, just aren’t with breaking.

Chili’s is one of those sit-down fast-food chain restaurants that consistently pumps out tasty burgers, chicken, and Tex-Mex food. You know what to expect when you go to Chili’s…and you either like it, or you don’t. I used to be a big fan of Chili’s Old Timer burgers, sizzling fajitas, and who can forget their famous«I want my baby back, baby back, baby back ribs…» jingle? But lately I find myself sitting in the bar area at lunch, and ordering the unlimited chips & salsa, soup & salad deal. I’ll generally order the spicy Southwest Chicken & Sausage soup which is made with oven-roasted chicken, savory sausage & tender white beans with garden veggies in a flavorful garlic chicken broth. Salty, but yum! This particular Chili’s is located along N. Dale Mabry Highway in Carrollwood at the intersection of S. Village Drive. Chili’s in in the Carrollwood Village shopping center along with Anthony’s Coal-Fired Pizza, Ocean Blue Sushi, World of Beer, Side Splitters Comedy Club. Parking can be a pain, but the crowd inside is always fun. Chili’s has all sorts of bar appetizers, flatbreads, sliders, quesadillas, nachos, and so on. Plus they still offer the delicious burgers, steaks, ribs, chicken and seafood dishes, and the traditional Tex-Mex favorites like tacos and fajitas. It’s a great spot to sit at the bar, or at one of the high-tops in the bar and socialize with the locals, or just kick back and watch some sports with a frosty cold Adult beverage.
