Visited based on a recommendation from a friend. Terribly disappointed. Didn’t get any bread until I specifically asked it when I saw other tables getting it, was told that you had to specifically ask for it. Ordered a salad that was never brought out and I had to tell my server to cancel it when she brought my main course. Server never apologized or try to make it right. Might have been a better experience except the server really wasn’t very good at or didn’t care about determining and meeting the needs of her customers. The food was OK, if overpriced. The ambience was lacking. I really wouldn’t recommend this place and won’t be going back.

This is a cute neighborhood gem. They have a lovely patio. The bar is pretty. Our server was friendly and attentive. The owner came by and greeted the table. It was nice to see an owner in a dining room checking in on his customers satisfaction. I had a delicious grilled chicken breast that was perfectly seasoned. My dining partner had a well prepared salmon entrée. We really enjoyed our meal and we will happily return anytime.

Really nice looking little restaurant. The food was good, but the calamari was a little too salty for me, but overall great restaurant

Place has great food and drinks. They have burger night on Mondays and that is usually a hit. Not a place I go to all the time. Meaning not a huge favorite. We usually go maybe 2 times a year.

$ 8 all you can drink mimosas at brunch. Worth 5 stars. That right there is a crazy good deal. They have brunch on Saturday and Sunday where you can get bottomless mimosas. The server keeps coming by to refill your glass. They are good at keeping it full! Their menu is awesome. When I look at a menu and can’t figure out what I want, that’s when I know I’ll be back. I ended up choosing the seafood omelet with gouda grits. The omelet had huge chunks of seafood and the grits were amazingly cheesy. I absolutely loved it. I ended up taking half of it home there was so much. My husband decided just to get an appetizer of beef tips and loved it as well. Their menu is super creative and the food is great. I think this is a fantastic brunch place. I’ll definitely be back.

Awesome experience in a very hip location. We rarely make it outside of South Tampa but since we were staying on Rocky Point it was worth it. The ambenince is fun and its sit at the start of the upscale neighborhood of Westchase. We split two appetizers the Bleau Cheese Mussels and the Roasted Pork and Plaintains. For an entrée we split the Seafood Paella. Everything was awesome and the value was very good. Certainly worth a visit

The Blue cheese mussels were great, Spicy Tuna roll loved it, tasted the Lobster bisque it was good. My husband order the calamari $ bottomless Mimosa he was in heaven. My daughter & grandson loved everything too. We will go back. Oh yes the Gouda grits were good also.(We ate family style obviously.). There is also a Bloody Mary bar. If you have not been here put it on your list.

We were looking for somewhere to accommodate a party of 6, kids and adults, on a Saturday night with no wait. We decided to try Catch 23 because I had heard good things for several years. They let us make a reservation which was great. We were seated immediately. There was live music playing in the bar area which we could hear and I liked that the restaurant was loud enough that we felt comfortable bringing small children but not too loud to be irritating. We had the coconut shrimp for an appetizer — definitely recommend. Everyone also enjoyed their meals — stuffed grouper, a salmon dish, fish tacos. No one had any complaints about the food. Our server was friendly and attentive as were the hostesses. This place is great for a moderately higher end seafood restaurant that is suitable for a date night or a nicer family dinner. We also stopped in the bar area on the way out to check the score of the game and I really liked the ambiance. Husband and I decided we will definitely pop in there for a drink soon.

The hubby and I went here for dinner and it was a nice place. We say on the inside just to get the feel of it and it was nice. Nice calm ambience and the customer service d was decent. I ordered the grouper and it was hot but could have used a bit of salt. The fries were good and I’m not a fan of shoestring fries. We had the calamari app and it was seasoned really well. The sangria is delicious and not too strong. I give this restaurant 4 stars because although it is nice, the tables are placed pretty close so you know what other groups are ordering and what they’re talking about.

I’ve been a here a couple times already and each time seems to get better and better. Every meal I’ve had has come out in a timely manner, thank god because I get hangry haha. With each bite of food I want more and more until my stomach literally feels like it’s going to explode. Last time I was here I had the mussels, which I’ve never really liked, but here they made it delicious and I didn’t feel like I was eating a slug lol. I’m about to try out their sushi now and I’m excited to receive my little platter of rolls! It’s funny because everytime I come here, I end up getting Kelly as a server and she’s the bomb. Literally on her A game. My favorite part is the bread. It’s so fluffy and always fresh and I’m just a weirdo for bread. Aside from the bread, the atmosphere is great. I’ve never been here during the daytime but I totally dig the lights they have up and the low lighting as well. The only thing I think needs work is maybe salt on the edamame? But that’s why I have a salt shaker on the table so sorry Unilocal I have nothing bad to say about this place. I love it :)

I came here for Valentine’s Day. It was my first and last visit to Catch. Positives: — We were seated quickly, and the outdoor seating was nice. — Drink prices weren’t completely unreasonable($ 7 – 8) — Sushi didn’t give me the runs — Sushi tasted decently good — Wait staff was nice — the fried plantains side was great Negatives: — Wait time for our entrée was crazy long — They recommended scallops — but then they didn’t have them after I ordered them. They then recommended stuffed shrimp which they said was their second best item. It was terrible. Mushy, bready, strangely flavored. — The said their top dish was the macadamia crusted sea bass. Wow. If that was their best dish, I’m definitely not impressed. The fish could have been crusted with panko for all you could taste of any nut. The fish had no discernible seasoning. The mango relish was uninspired. Both dishes came with coconut rice that was truly inedible. Essentially for $ 120, I left feeling ripped off and unsatisfied. With all the other available options to try in the area, I am unwilling to spend any more money at this place. If you like food that is bland and pricey, you will like this place. As for me, I would rather spend $ 22 at Yummy House for 3 dishes, or $ 7 at Saigon Deli for a bowl of phở. If I’m spending $ 120, I expect a far better culinary experience.

My expectation for finding a decent dinning spot at Westchase area was pleasantly fulfilled after visited Catch 23 on two occasions; one is for drink and another for dinner. The trendy interior design and layout portraits a spiffy image for the restaurant. Bar area is partially separated from the dinning section and extends to the outdoor patio, which helps to brew a hint of flirting atmosphere for the stylish younger crowds of Westchase. The shaded dinning section provides an intimate atmosphere that suitable for dating or business dinner. Seats are arranged with wide space and comfortable to sit through a longer dinner. Catch 23 is specialized for preparing seafood dishes. For our visit last night, 3 of us ordered the seafood, and one ordered chicken. We all agreed at the end that the seafood dishes were definitely worth ordering again. I had the sauteed grouper with tomato and cream sauce($ 25). The fish fillet was surprisingly moisturized and tender; though the cream sauce was light, yet its delicate flavor mysteriously eliminate the odd fishy taste of the grouper. Lightly sauteed yellow squash as a side dish was a good touch. Hubby ordered seafood trio($ 26), it come with sealed tuna steak, pan fired sea bass steak and grouper steak. None of these fish fillets was overcooked. The final winner was the grouper because its flavor and texture. My friend ordered Paella($ 19), It was a large deep soup plate full of abundant seafood with a light tomato-based broth on top of coconut rice. He licked the bowl. The services we received from both visit were formal and professional. I believe the staffs are well trained to perpetuate an impression for guest who seeks upscale dinning experience, however, greet guests with a welcome smile and deliberately ignore guests when they are leaving is somehow a conflicted behavior. An Isolate incident I sincerely hope so.

The front desk ladies were super friendly, helpful and got us a seat almost immediately on a busy evening. Our waiter was absent minded and we had to remind him several times of items we ordered. The food is above average but could be better. Maybe I just got unlucky with the appetizers to share we ordered at our high table outside. Folks tend to get very loud after imbibing a few adult libations. I would not bring kids here after a certain hour. Great location though… was disappointed on this first visit, but will be giving it another try next time we’re in town.

There wasn’t a lot of parking in the area. Nice atmosphere. The wait was about 30 minutes, which isn’t usual to me for a good restaurant on a Saturday evening. Our waiter was Jason S. He was awesome! Great service! We started out with the Sautéed Crab Cakes. They were delicious! Even the bread was fresh and yummy! My entrée was the Stuffed Shrimp(Chef’s Specialties) stuffed with super lump crab meat, ginger, and cilantro served with of garlic, key lime, and white wine sauce. This came with coconut rice and my choice of side(sweet fried plantains). AMAZING!!! My boyfriend had the Ribeye with mashed potatoes, creole green beans & a double chocolate stout beer. He said the meal was great, but not the beer! I was partially full from the crab cakes and bread so I have leftovers. Yay! I checked in with Unilocal, got a free beer but decided to save it for later… because we will be back!

You can’t go wrong with $ 5 burger nights on Mondays. Besides that, I’d skip this place. It is overpriced and mediocre quality. The wait staff is atrocious and they are a revolving door. They have upped their game and they now offer chicken sandwiches on $ 5 burger night, which is a nice change(but stick to the burger).

I was excited to find this place on Groupon. It’s in pretty Westchase. There is a nice outside patio, dog friendly, and offers seafood & some meat options in a nice bright tropical setting. We sat outside for dinner since we had our doggie with us. It was obvious no one wanted to serve us outside. It took forever just for someone to come by even though we checked in inside. Service wasn’t good whatsoever. When we asked our server about the items on the menu, she didn’t know anything about the food. We talked to someone in a nearby restaurant who eats there, and just gets take out. They confirmed the same too. Service takes forever, and many servers don’t know the food. I picked the salmon wrapped in bacon with basil inside. It came with a light guava BBQ sauce on it along with hard carrots and sweet plantains. Towards the end I noticed bright pink versus pale pink in the salmon(uncooked and cooked spots) My hubby had the skirt steak with chimmichurri sauce. It was plain and had no seasoning. For the price on the menu for regular price, and also the Groupon price, it was all around not worth it whatsoever. Big time thumbs down & I got sick from it right away from the spotty cooked and uncooked salmon. Good Job, Not!!!

My husband and I ordered four things to share. Cuban Pork Quesadilla, Shrimp with Edamame, Spicy Tuna Roll and Cucumber Roll. All our food came out at once which was fine because we were sharing but it would have been nice if there was some staggering of dishes. I really enjoyed the shrimp and edamame dish and would order that again. The edamame had a smokey/charred taste that was nice. The shrimp were large and perfectly cooked. Our waiter was very friendly and efficient. Our drinks were always filled. Overall, I would come back and try other things on the menu. They run various specials during the week like unlimited wine Wednesdays for a set price, burger mondays… etc. The bathroom was clean.

Decided to try out catch twenty three for my girls new job celebration. nice atmosphere, clean, also kid friendly. I had the Ny strip steak which was very juicy, and guess what on Thursday’s just $ 12 can’t wrong. My girl had the Guavo salmon, she enjoyed it. A lot of flavor! Server was very genuine and knowledgeable! Definitely a spot to hit up and enjoy great food and good service!

Oh that there could be a 3.5 star option. Four stars for food and staff. 3 stars for the establishment’s inability to manage the influx of people on their«specials» nights. I visited on $ 4 burger night, unknowingly. The place was packed and there was barely standing room only in the bar and wait area. it took 20 minutes for one spot at the bar and I can’t imagine how much longer it would have been to have my name called for a table spot. And finally, 2 stars for upkeep. Frankly the place isn’t that classy for the upscale shopping center it’s in. The bathroom and hallway are a wreck, pieces of wall and such falling off. Once I finally got a seat at the bar I was very happy with my bartender, who served me my free beer upon check in(thanks Unilocal app) and recommended some dishes for dinner. I decided on the Stuffed Shrimp: shrimp stuffed with crab meat and cilantro and garlic in thick white wine sauce. The mashed potatoes were creamy and garlicky. I opted for some type of spicy green beans which were soggy and lacked flavor.
