Hands down, our favorite go-to Saturday night ice cream spot. It’s delicious, no matter what you get. I always feel like I should order more but have to stop myself. Been coming here since I was about 3, and I’ll take my kids here!

What to say… Bo’s is a novelty Ice Cream joint in Seminole Heights. Soft Serve is the primary menu item. I have been a couple of times, and stopped going after they were slammed by the health department. BUT– that issue has apparently been solved so we ventured over for an ice cream last evening. I had a small vanilla cone dipped in chocolate… loved it. There is something nostalgic about walking up to an ice cream joint and partaking of a frozen delight! Once before I had the cherry hard dipped cone. and honestly, it was delightful. Is the ice cream anything special? Not really. It is more about the experience and the novelty that surrounds the place. I haven’t tried the shakes or anything else, but will. That said, I am glad to have Bo’s in town and it is such a great place to have in the Seminole Heights food scene. I do my best to support local business especially where I live in Seminole Heights!

I just love this place so much!!! Don’t let the humble appearance fool you… each and every dessert I have had here has been delicious and the portions are generous. In fact, I’m pretty sure I am addicted to the chocolate peanut butter milkshake. I also think it’s pretty cool that this place has been around so long that my mom used to go when she was young.

I always get a small twist in a cone. Their thick and chunkies are dangerously yummers!

Amazing! I’ve been looking for somewhere to get a real milkshake and Bo’s makes a great chocolate banana milkshake! Thick and creamy! And, the upside down ice cream sundae is fun!

Love Bo’s ice cream, especially after their recent renovation/clean up but perhaps it was me, but it looked like they had a significant price increase, which is why I lowered my rating to 2 stars:(

Cute, small location. The servings of ice cream are huge. Fast, cold and inexpensive… what more do you need.

I was sweating all day from working in the yard and I was really jonesing for a good old soft serve ice cream. I jumped in my career and drive on up to bo’s. Now I’ve heard of this place but never got the chance to make it on over. When I got there, I was so pleased to see the never of various dessert choices. The kid behind the counter asked what I wanted, I said I was«unsure, what do you recommend after working in the yard all day? «he said the soft serve there was the best in town and it would hit the spot, that’s what he would always get. I said sure, I’ll go for a medium twist and asked how much… He said«about tree-fitty.» It was at that moment I noticed that this kid wasn’t even working there; in fact he wasn’t even a kid, this was a giant crustacean from the paleolithic era that was dressed up as a worker! I said I ain’t giving you no tree-fitty for a trying to sell me some delicious soft serve you goddamn loch ness monster! Get your own damned money! Lesson of the story really is that you have to be careful who is selling you the goods. Went back a second time, no loch ness monster this time, but I did enjoy the treaty treats this place has to offer.

We saw this posting in Unilocal for this old ice cream store. There are limited parking spots near the store. Fortunately we came to the store when it rain and 9:00 pm at night. Not many cars. We are thinking about the dip top ice cream that was posted in the Unilocal site. My wife has the Dip Top and I try the snow cone. The snow cone has the choice of Orange, Blue Raspberry, Grape and Cherry. I have them infuse all four flavors. The taste flavor is good but the shave ice is not to the standard. This store shave ice is big pieces compare to many snow cone venders. The correct way of the shave ice is tiny pieces like puffy cotton. I believe they can adjust many revolutions with slightly press to create that. Unfortunately, the store tries to save energy, and make the shave ice not delight to eat. With that, they should have 2 stars. However, the Dip Top did the best job among the menu and save the day. The soft serve with the Cherry dip top is handsome looking and delicious to eat. I think they are the best in town. If I come back, I will have the dip top only. The soft serve can be vanilla, chocolate or swirl of two flavor. The dip top can be chocolate, cherry or butterscotch. I bite the dip top of my wife and they are excellent.

Health code issues closed this restaurant temporarily. The department’s inspector found more than 50 live roaches crawling around the floor, shelves and food preparation areas. Inspectors also found dead roaches and fresh rodent droppings in the establishment. The restaurant had been warned in the past about the roaches and rodent droppings, according to the inspection. Other high priority violations included flying insects in the kitchen and an employee touching ready-to-eat food with bare hands. The restaurant received 28 warnings for many of the violations, including improper hand washing stations and mold found in the ice machine. Disgusting is an understatement.

We heard about this place from an ad in the local events paper. It claimed it was a local institution/favorite so I knew I had to go. Pulling up to a long line of people let me know I made a good choice. All of these locals can’t be too wrong, can they? No. We turned down fancy desserts at our dinner to give this place a go. A little out of the way, this place is out on its own in a neighborhood type area away from all the tourist spots. Worth the trek! From the pictures posted here I knew I had to get the brownie«Thick and Chunky» concoction. Think of it as a thicker blizzard and with more of the mix in throughout. There was a big brownie hunk on top with hot fudge. OMGYUM! And small brownie bite size chunks blended in to my vanilla soft serve below. A word of caution on the sizing, a small is HUUUUGE. Me and the guy split my small and it was still a lot of ice cream. Like a 16 oz drink cup. He got his own which was Bo’s signature«Upside Down Banana Split» but it was not near as good to us as the brownie. The UDBS got soupy before we could eat it and there was a lot goin’ on in there. If you love a banana split you’d probably enjoy it more than we did. Nevertheless, this place did not disappoint.

If anyone gets to Seminole Heights and wants good flavored ice cream(soft serve) Go to Bo’s on Florida Ave just north of Sligh. I get the Cherry sundaes which they use plenty of maraschino cherries! They also have go thick butterscotch malts! Just try them and you will Love them!

First time to try this and it was great. Servings were big and the ice cream is creamier than most soft serves but the flavor was nothing totally out of the ordinary. But they had great flavors there which was great and other ice cream stuff in the menu too so that was cool.

Cheap. Fast service. Good ice cream. And there’s a drive thru! In my opinion, the simplicity of Bo’s Ice Cream is what makes it a decent place to get sweets. You park next to the shop or drive thru, order your ice cream and they get it ready for you in minutes. You pay up and that’s it! Very simple, nothing frilly. This is MOST helpful, particularly when you are indecisive when it comes to sweets! My husband ordered a vanilla-chocolate swirl ice cream cone dipped in butterscotch and I ordered the Choc-o-nuts, which is vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate and peanuts, all on a sugar cone. Both were good! It’s an alright place to get ice cream. I wouldn’t go out of my way to get an ice cream here but I would definitely return if I was in the area. :-)

My boyfriend’s family used to live in the area and raved about this place. We decided we had to try it out since we were heading down Florida Ave anyway. Luckily, the sign is very large because we had no clue exactly where it was and it was dark out. The neighborhood seems a bit sketchy and it’s not particularly well lit. The staff was neither friendly nor inhospitable, just sort of there and down to business. A couple was there being rather hostile about their large order, so I’m sure they weren’t having the best night. I tried the chocolate dipped cone. It was good, nothing out of the ordinary. Same goes for the vanilla milkshake that my boyfriend had. If we go back, I imagine I might need to get something more extraordinary like the banana split in order to rate Bo’s higher. But it wasn’t a bad price for your run-of-the-mill ice cream stop.

Unilocaler Laura M. from Tampa mentioned this place recently on social media and her photo of her and husband’s dip cones had me asking questions about how I could get some of that goodness in my life! Because of her, my husband and I were able to try out this Tampa icon. It reminded me of the Twistee Treat chain we have in Orlando. Except the building isn’t shaped like an ice cream cone. It’s an older building and you walk up and order at the window. Lots of ice cream options that are just way too overwhelming. I decided to order simple. I had a butterscotch dip cone which was just perfection! My husband had a butterscotch milkshake. Yep, we are butterscotch fans! There are a couple of tables to sit outside but I noticed some folks just hanging out in their car also. Again, this place isn’t anything fancy. Heck, it’s located from a used car lot! But if you have a craving for something sweet and fairly cheap, give this place a visit!

Though they would probably ban me as a customer for saying so, Bo’s is the independent version of DQ to me. It definitely has the nostalgic factor going for it. If you’re in the mood for soft-serve this is your place to go in Seminole Heights. If you’re looking for something more… exciting…you might want to find somewhere else. I went with the small Thick & Chunky with Butterfinger & Oreo; classic combo for me. The chunks of toppings on the top of the cup were impressive. Large chunks of Butterfinger mixed with shards of Oreo cookie was impressive. However that’s kinda where it ended; I was expecting a decent amount mixed in throughout and I just didn’t find it. Very glad I got the small in this case, because I don’t know if I would be able to finish that much soft-serve otherwise. The(seemed to be) handmade Choc-o-nuts cone(aka Drumstick) looked tasty and I would consider that next time if we ever stop by again.
