Bangz Salon & Spa

I have been coming to Bangz for a couple years now and wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. I initially tried a few places closer to my house, but always ended up unsatisfied, so I found Bangz and now gladly make the 40 minute drive to get my hair done.
My original girl hasn’t worked here for a while, so now my mom and I both go to Wendy. She is nice, proud of her work, and not into superficial chit-​chat, which is the best part. She listens to what you want and does it perfectly. I never think twice about spending my hard earned money for cuts and dyes here, I know I’ll always leave happy.

Recently Remodeled. Great new staff. Excellent Customer Service. Very clean and professional salon. Highly Recommended.

I went in for a full highlight with pretty dark natural hair and it turned out great! I showed a picture of what I wanted and was warned that it might not turn out exactly like the picture in one appointment and I appreciated the honesty. Melissa did a great job on the color and cut. The reason I didn’t give the salon five stars is that personally I don’t like when employees are doing their own hair at a salon with customers there. I walked in and one employee was coloring her own hair. As I sat there, I realized it is typical for this salon as other employees were drying their hair. One was doing so as her client was waiting for the color to take. It just doesn’t look professional to me. It was also a little pricey.

I had a terrible experience here a few months back. This place and hairdresser were recommended to me by a friend, but I will never be going back. First, it was hard to even schedule an appointment and required quite a few calls back and forth between the receptionist and Wendy (the woman who cut my hair).
Second, I don’t require much in a haircut, other than it’s cut straight and the person listens to me. Wendy told me that what I wanted was not a good idea and that she was going to do something else. I reluctantly told her she could do LONG layers in my hair and she tried to start cutting them at my ear — 3 inches of layers is not LONG layers… I had to tell her to move way farther down to start the layers and she did so with an attitude. She talked with other people the entire appointment and barely gave me any attention, even while she was washing and cutting my hair.
I almost cried when I got in the car and had to have my hair fixed later because she did such a terrible job. Hopefully she was just having an off day or the other hairdressers are better, but I will not be a returning customer.

I had not yet found a stylist since moving to the Tampa area and I went with reviews when choosing Bangz. I was so nervous after having the same stylist for years, but the owner was so pleasant and friendly on the phone that I was drawn.
My stylist was Wendy. Though a little quiet, as I believe she was under the weather, she was comforting. I was very pleased with my all over hi-​lites. I had specific request to have small, very natural looking hi-​lites that would not look stripped when wearing my hair up and I was extremely happy with the results. I’ve had tons of compliments on my hair to include my very well swept side bang.
I talked about getting some ‘fun’ colors in my hair, since I was on a two week vacation, and Wendy was happy to introduce me to another stylist, Sandy. Sandy found me the quickest time slot she had that day to do a couple teal extensions to add some temporary fun to my new style. They were quick and easy and she was happy to do them for me.
I’m going back!

Not a good experience from the start
Arrived fifteen minutes early to meet a new stylist
Waited and saw a person talking to the front desk girl then he walked away a few minutes later he returns probably looking for his new client– we never met– since I was the only one there u may have thought or looked over
Finally the front girl realizes I might be the person he is looking for — tells him here is your appointment
He never introduces himself and I show him the picture of the cut I want — which is straight edges sort of chin length
He cuts
I leave
After looking at the cut for four days I decide it is not short enough nor even
Call back ask for a redo Gina agrees
I go back
He cuts but this time with a thinning shear much shorter and very choppy edges not blunt
Not happy with the hair or service
But

Bangz is a full service salon with a great staff! Gina, the owner, is always there to greet you with a smile and if you’d like, a glass of wine.
Rhonda, has been my esthetician here for over ten years. She does a great job with facials, waxing, and any other skincare treatment you may need. She is a genuine individual and will recommend what is truly needed to treat your skin even if it isn’t offered in their salon.
Ask for Rhonda for your any of your skincare needs! She is the best!

I love Bangz salon! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. If you are looking for a stylist who gives amazing hair cuts and is an expert in high/​lowlights then ask for Melissa. I have been going to her for 5 years and I am NEVER disappointed in the results. Whether you want funky color or just a simple yet sexy style, she is definitely the stylist for you!
Oh and clients get free beer and wine while they wait, too =)
