I when back and the Cuban food is awesome the service is great and the prices you can’t beat it this my second time coming here and it won’t be my last this where I come too eat every time I come too Tampa Florida I recommend everything on their menu is home style Cuban food at its finest
Nice, quiet, and small little spot in west Tampa. Spanish is the primary language, but English is spoken. I brought my Son here to eat. The prices are really low and they give you large portions. I ordered croquettes for appetizers 3 for 1.25… My son ordered not 1 but 2 Cuban sandwiches. I ordered Carne con papa with Arroz Blanco and yuca. I was super stuffed. I will definitely return.

Arco-Iris Café has fast become my go-to spot for fast and easy on the wallet Cubans. Their bread is my favorite in Tampa and works well for the breaded steak as well as the fish sandwiches too. The only challenge is the parking, so be prepared to find a spot on a side street and hoof it.

The food was amazing! It is so authentic! If you’ve ever been in L.A. and are familiar with Portos, this place kicks its butt! I had the cuban sandwich, it was really good, the bread was flakey and light. My favorite was the beef empanada. The cuban coffee was very tasty, it did not need any sweetner. I ordered the croqueta de jaiba and it was BIG, I expected a tiny ball. My cousin ordered a chicken chicheron dish and it was excellent, the seasoning was tangy and very flavorful. I live in Clearwater but will definitely make the treck to come back and eat here.

#175 After visiting a co-worker in St. Jo’s a group of us headed back to work but not before we nabbed some lunch. Being in West Tampa, which is a target rich food enviroment this should not have been much of a task and it wasn’t. It wasn’t hard to find lunch. What proved to be harder would be finding a «good» lunch. Driving on Habana south we stopped for the red light at Tampa Bay Blvd. On the right was Arco-Iris Café. We decided to try their Cubans as no one had tried them here before. Arco-Iris Café is a branch of the Arco-Iris Restaurant on Columbus. The Columbus location is 4 – 5 star good, although I had never tried their Cuban. So in we go and order Cubans all the way. Got back to work and saw that they were large and cut sharply on the angle so familiar from West Tampa Sandwich Shop. That’s where the similiarity ended. This was a ham sandwich. Oh it might have had a sliver of a slice of pork and hint of swiss but it was a ham sandwich. Once again I was reminded of the heaven that is the Cuban from West Tampa and how they excel over all the others. No one tried anything else so I can’t report on other items but the café has a full cuban style menu. It is very pleasant and bright inside and the wait staff were friendly and helpful. It has about 20 tables so there is ample room. I would go back and try something else but from now on it’s West Tampa for Cubans. Nothing else will do.

This is real Cuban food! The restaurant is clean and pleasant. The prices are affordable. I also cater from Arco Iris frequently, & the food is always delicious!

Great little place for café con leche and Cuban toast but as far as Cuban sandwich goes, it’s very commercialized. Has sliced pork not pulled pork which greatly decreases the flavor unfortunately and very little of it at best. There are many places in the area that do a much better job.

Food was pretty decent, attitude towards non-Cubans not so good, however, service was very fast at 5:00 pm. I’d try somewhere else next time.

This is my «secret» spot whenever I need quick Cuban breakfast or lunch. Do not go to the noisier, dirtier, maybe smaller Arco Iris on Columbus Ave. THIS location is the best one. It’s always clean, there’s usually few people there and you can get a table quickly, service is quick and the food is decent. The food at West Tampa Sandwich Shop is better, but this location of Arco Iris is great when you want your food quick.

Very disappointing experience. Tables were not wiped down. Service was rare and rude. I ordered the breaded steak sandwich and my friend order the vegetable soup. When the food arrived, the steak was not breaded and the soup had meat in it. When we told the waitress that the order was wrong, she informed us that it was right. My friend, a vegetarian, explained that he would not have ordered«vegetable» soup if he knew it had meat. She told him that she would get him something else, but would still have to charge for the soup because she brought it out of the kitchen. After bringing him some black beans and rice, she ignored us the rest of the meal. There are too many good cuban restaurants for us to put up with such poor customer service. We will not be returning.

Best cuban place in town! Love the ropa vieja and aroz con pollo! I always bring people here when they come in out of town. And you can’t beat the prices!

It’s been a while since I’ve wanted to check out Arco Iris. There was no disappointment what so all. The menu had a wide range of fare or ll tastes. The kids opted for breakfast(eggs and bacon) while the rest of us tried the rest of the menu. Though I wanted to first try a Cuban o other sammie, the lamb shank special drew me in off the whiteboard. My wife had her go to meal of Ropa Vieja and the eldest had spaghetti and chorizo(who’d ave guessed). Plates were copious and delish. Cuban bread came out warm and devoured by al. The waiter was friendly and attentive. The flan caused a fight between siblings and finished off with a café on leche. This makes for a nice weekend lunch tradition. The only drawback was limited parking but we didn’t have a problem.

Awesome. This place is just like the Columbus location. Food is the best Cuban food in Tampa bay. My whole other side of the family is Cuban and this is the only place they go to have Cuban food. This location also serves breakfast which I am enjoying as I type this.

This is the second location for the venerable Arco Iris on W. Columbus, near the Florida bakery. It was formerly a «Cuban pizza» shop and still offers that delicacy(with breadier/soft crust) as well as the same Chinese/Cuban specialties from the original location. Arco Iris has the continuing loyalty of old-time Tampa natives of Cuban origin, and continues to please. Parking can be a problem on this busy corner of Habana & Tampa Bay.
