This place is great! The coal fire pizza crust is delicious. We added Italian sausage, hot peppers & mushrooms & we loved it. We ordered the 2 meatball & ricotta appetizer, it came with focaccia bread. We told our server that it was our first time there & just a little bit later the manager stopped by our table & brought us a free sample of their chicken wings & we were blown away by them! The flavor was outstanding & the carmelized onions were great. We will def be back!

Probably the best pizza we have had in Tampas. One of the more expensive but the memory will last. We got a half/half; 4 cheese(best i have ever had) and a fine margharita. As noted the crust is thin, crispy and nicely charred like a fine steak. Toppings are very generously piled on so we had half of the large to take home. Also since this was our first visit, the manager treated us to some very nice sauted wings… not the customary fried-crip ones, but big on flavor. A nicely appointed dining room and fine service. Easy parking. Clearly lots of take-out business. No doubt we will return for more quality.

I’m a hardcore pizza snob and I totally love Anthony’s pizza! The reviews that complain about«burnt» pizza totally crack me up and leave me a bit confused. Maybe it is because this is a style of pizza that was mostly unknown here in Florida until recently? It’s clearly stated this is «coal fired» pizza! Their cute slogan is also«Pizza Well Done.» So if you were surprised and unhappy, perhaps you were paying attention to something else? Geez… First, the meatballs and ricotta appetizer was really nice. As for the pizza? They have great cheese, sauce, and some very unique toppings selections. But the draw here for many is that crust! It is indeed black and almost burnt in a few small places. Fans believe it brings an excellent crispy texture and overall unique flavor profile to their pizza. So I guess you either«get» Anthony’s or you don’t? But if you want to try a style of pizza that fairly unique to our area, you should really give them a try… (And yes, my review is almost exactly the same as for their Clearwater location, because I have had nearly the exact experiences here…)

We were in Tampa on a trip to go see my father and we were in the mood for some good Italian food, not necessarily pizza. We stumbled on to Anthony’s and glad we did. It’s on Dale Mabry Blvd near the airport. We ordered the salad, meatballs and a pepperoni pizza. All were outstanding. The restaurant was clean and nice and the service and attentively to detail was top notch.

40 dollars for pizza and some plain bread… Nothing exciting here! over priced, no taste, and not a huge selection(not even appetizers)… Left completely disappointed and hungry. If I wanted crappy pizza I would have bought one in the frozen foods section. But I have to say the frozen pizza is way better than that crap.

First time in here and was very impressed! I ordered the side chick, which are five coal oven roasted wings and caramelized onions. Very tasty stuff! Then had a small order of meatballs and that was filling. Since it was my first time here, they offered a cheesecake as a thanks for stopping by. This would be good with a group to enjoy some coal oven style pizza! Definately worth a visit here.

This pizza is just OK. I think we go here because the quality(freshness of ingredients and freshness of preparation) is predictably good, but to be honest there is nothing spectacular about the pizza or the food here. It’s not food that you just CRAVE. It’s just average restaurant food, that is just fresher than average. I would recommend the Italian salad, the meatball pizza. The wings are fresh but bizarre, with no sauce, very little flavor and burned onions piled on top(they call them caramelized but they are in fact BURNED, I know the difference). Another mediocre Florida pizza joint.

When we first drove up I was encouraged. My coworkers and I eat eat somewhere new every week and I liked the ambiance, outdoor seating, and indoor/outdoor bar. IT immediately reminded me of San Diego and how I’d love to roll up and take over the bar with some friends and just have some lunch and some beer & wine. Despite that, the food could have sucked– it didn’t! I have traveled all over Italy, and not once outside of there have I ever had caprese and tomatoes THISGOOD. The tomatoes are seriously special. We were BLOWNAWAY. Nothing there disappoints, the house salad vinaigrette is not too acidic nor overpowering. The caprese is THICK slices of tomato on mozz with FRESHLY chopped basil on top(no basil drizzle crap) and they add sweet peppers which just shoved it over the top! The focaccia sandwiches are full of flavor and not drowning in sauce and were fresh, crunchy, and delicious. The wings were COVERED in caramelized onions. The meatballs were huge anbd juicy and came with ricotta. And. Then. The. Pizza. Came. Out! It is really easy to blow off a margherita pizza and make it nothing special but this one was SPOTON to what I had in Florence, no joke. I was the happiest girl in the world, I felt like I was back on the Mediterranean. Even if the food had been fantastic and the ambiance had been pleasant– the service could have sucked and ruined the entire experience– but it didn’t! As someone who used to be a server’s assistant, I know what makes and breaks a dining experience. When you’re there for lunch with a party of 8 no one has to care about you or pay attention to you, but they did! Jessica the Asst Manager was our server(and also bartending, food running, and asst managing) and she STILL managed to keep drinks and waters 100% filled, plates constantly cleared, brought new share plates before we even asked for them, brought me my fork in a napkin– down to the details it was ridiculous! On top of that, MArcus the Manager took time to come by and explain the ingredients of each dish and how they make everything there FRESH. Not like oh we have all of the ingredients made yesterday and ready to compile, like they didn’t bake that break until the order for the sandwich went in. Bottom line, you can’t do any better if you’re just looking for the perfect, laid back casual dining experience. I will never be disappointed when I eat here and I’m also super pleased that they have one close to me in Clearwater!

Not bad. Felt like eating pizza and this was the place to go. This place a great rep and I can see why. However, when it comes to pizzas, more often than not I run into pizzas that could use a bit more flavor… This wasn’t the exception. My fiancée thinks it’s because I order veggie pizzas. He was very satisfied with his carnivore pizza pie. Bit I’ve had plenty of great tasting, flavor packed veggie pizzas.

I love this place! Was recommended by a friend and now I’m not going any place else in south Tampa. We ordered the meatball and ricotta pizza, and guess what, it was LOADED with meatballs! I’m a meat guy and when you put a lot of meat on my pizza, I will be back again and again. The coal fired taste is great and reminded me of the NYC coal fired places I use to frequent when I lived there. Service was excellent, very attentive and on the ball. Eat here!

This little place is great. The service is outstanding and the food is delicious. It is authentic and doesn’t feel at all like a chain restaurant(there are locations in a few other states). I would definitely recommend for lunch or a dinner. The one reason I did not give 5 stars is because the music was annoying. The ambiance was literally perfect but the hits of the early 2000’s were playing a little too loud. I would have liked to hear Italian music of some sort. It would have really added to my experience.

Great experience having dinner here on a Friday night. My bf raves alt toys place all the time as he often had lunch here. The wings with sauteed onion are amazing. They have beer and wine. The pizza was delicious. Definitely could taste the coal fire of the oven, which is great.

Apparently they make a point to come tell me that I am parked in one of the take out spots and that I have to move. They have no open parking so I obliged and drove and parked around the corner. Sitting here inside and having ordered I notice that there are STILL two other cars parked in takeout spots and have not moved nor are they looking to the patrons who own them to ask them to move. Boy– do I feel special. I’m skipping this place next time.

Awesome pizza and baked wings that are nothing like the wings you get in a bar… I could eat these every day! The meatballs and sauce are my personal favorite and now you can order a pan full of them and bring them home!

This pizzeria definitely is different from others. We ordered a salad and a small pizza. However, their small pizza is not small per se(look at the photos below) The place is decent and well kept. A good experience overall.

Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza is one of my go to places when I am craving pizza. I consistently have great dining experiences here. The staff here is very friendly and attentive. I have had several of the pizza pies on the menu and have never been disappointed. The pizza is cooked evenly and the dough and the crust come out perfectly. While the pizza is fabulous here, the Oven Roasted wings are ridiculously delicious! It is a different take on wings, and they always come out so flavorful due to being cooked with the carmelized onions. All beers and wines are half off during Happy Hour. Anthony’s also has great lunch specials. While Anthony’s is best known for its pizza, they also have some salads and sandwiches, I wouldn’t mind trying on the menu. I will definitely be back.
