The food here is absolutely delicious, but the problem lies in the people who work here and the execution of the orders. No doubt they are nice people, but no one speaks English. We ordered online for delivery late on Saturday night. We got a mega desayuno, a desayuno infantil, 2 sides of chorizo, a side of patacones, and a tres leches. We received one chorizo, no tres leches, the desayuno infantil only came with one instead of two cheese sticks, and were charged twice for delivery. When we called to ask them to send the second chorizo and tres leches, and to ask about the duplicate charge, the lady who picked up the phone only spoke Spanish and I think she panned the phone off to a customer who spoke English to translate it for her. I don’t know how they run a business without anyone who speaks English. It also took an hour for delivery, and we just live two streets away. The food was really good though so I think I’ll go back to them in the future, but for pick up only. I would definitely recommend this place for the taste of the food, but only if you understand what type of situation you are stepping into when you come here.

Let me start by saying that this place was recommended to me by my brother. He usually is spot on with his recommendations but on occasion his perception is flawed. Coming to this place has to be one of the funniest and most horrendous experiences I’ve had as a patron. We decided to go as a group on a Saturday evening since most of us were bored and wanted a latin cuisine joint that had karaōke/live music and decent food. We arrived as a group and met a friend whom was already waiting for us at this glorious establishment(sarcasm). Upon arriving he greeted us with his usual candor and we all proceeded to wait to be seated. Realizing that none of the waitresses noticed our arrival, our friend who had been there decided to take action and just direct us to an empty table. As we sat and waited for any waitress to come to us my brother decided to take matters into his own hands and signaled a waitress in a very discrete but nonchalant way. She immediately noticed his gesture and akin to a «Bye Felicia» hand signal, she decided to inform us that we weren’t priority. She later(much later) arrived at our table and handed us our menus. We decided to make quick decisions since we would only imagine that the food would arrive late in an establishment that already gave us a questionable first impression. My Brother’s Girlfriend decided to share that she was interested in ordering a dish based on corn and our friend who had been already waiting at the bar for a while proceeded to inform us that he had already asked earlier and they told him that they were out of corn. But as stubborn as my Brother’s girl friend is, we waited until our waitress came back and she asked her if they had corn. She actually told her that indeed they had corn. All of us were perplexed as to why she gave her this answer and for some reason we all decided to laugh since the absurdity was comical. We all then ordered our food and after waiting for some time our food finally arrived. We all were in a very hungry state so we decided to dig in and devour our food. To be honest the food was mediocre at best. I have been to many colombian fast food type joints and this ranks as among the worst that I’ve had. Our mutual friend in this story had ordered a fruit juice that contained milk and he was informed when they brought our food that they ran out of milk. This is twice in a row that they told him they were out of something. He begrudgingly changed his beverage to water. During our time eating I realized that after ordering a hotdog I kind of expected fries to go with my food order but realized this needed to be ordered separate. So I signaled the waitress to bring me a batch of fries. Neither my friend, my brother or her girlfriend were content with their food. We finally finished all our food and waited for a long time for our waitress to bring me a batch of fries. This took so long that I got lost in conversation with my friends that I had forgotten my order. Until finally she appeared with some fries. I was really upset but I was hellbent on getting my fries fixed so I asked her for ketchup. To my dismay she tells me «We don’t have Ketchup, sorry.» I was INSHOCK !!. How the hell where they able to make pink sauce(mayo and Ketchup) and not have Ketchup. I was not going to put up a fight so I accepted the answer. But after a few minutes I had realized that my hot dog came drizzled in Ketchup. It was at this moment that I had a feeling that the waitress was deliberately trying to sabotage our meal. Needless to say we all requested our checks, left no tip and left in a very angry state. We will never again go to that place and I urge anyone who reads this to either heed my warning or go try this horrendous place and help the community by writing a review on Unilocal about their experience.

Worse«colombian» food in all of broward county really. I dont know how they can even consider themselves«authentic» as they say. The frijoles are canned beans, far from homemade. The carne asada is nothing more than a tough piece of steak. The chicharones were stale. The rice might as well be uncle bens parbroiled microwave rice. lastly the maduros were so hard they were inedible.

This place is awesome the food is good it’s very nice inside and the menu is great. My first time there I went in there for empanadas. After having them I was addicted. I am have to minikin so I insisted that my father come with me when I try out the actual food. I had the mega to Rasco steak it was cooked perfect and it tasted great. The servers were very nice and the inside is very clean my girlfriend likes the guanabana drink. This is a Columbian restaurant and also has a lot of basic regular Spanish dishes but whenever I go to the Colombian place you know I have to have the quail eggs. They are my absolute favorite delicacy. If I don’t get them on the side I get them on top of the super pro which is like an ultimate hotdog. This is a great place with great food at a great price.

It’s not great and it’s not bad. It’s mediocre. The reason I give El Mega Chuzo Tamarac a mediocre review is because it’s hit or miss. This past visit one of my dining guests ordered the Churrasco and it was pretty gamey, had a funk to it. We attempted to order different cuts of meat before the Churrasco, they just didn’t have any of the cuts we where requesting. The picada is really good on the other hand on this past visit. On 2 other visits it tasted again kind of funky and super dry. This past visit the tostones where a bit thinner than usual(probably to save time on frying). Previous visits they where thicker, but sometimes slightly stale. On this visit, we tried the Tres Leches, but it was nothing to rave about. The nata de coco on the other hand was pretty good. On a different pickup order we got charged 2x. Got it cleared up with the CC. Service is pretty decent, waitresses are attentive and place is clean from what I can see in the dining area. It’s slightly more upscale than Los Verdes, but for me Los Verdes has better food or better traffic to cycle food out. I’ll continue to go to El Mega Chuzo because of convenience, it’s pretty close by. I hope they get more customers so they can cycle their meat out, or they take a look at this review. The meats tasted kind of funky on 2 out of 3 visits. Didn’t get sick and I’m pretty sensitive to those types of things.

The food was ok, but the service was the worst. Why does it have to take you 1hr in a fast food restaurant. The waitresses are slow. My husband and I came in and they gave us the menu. Literally 20 minutes passed before they came to take our order and that’s because they saw us getting our stuff because we were about to walk out. Then our order took. About 30 mins to get to us. Place is nice and modern inside, food is ok, service is horrendous!

The service is very nice. The sauces are good(piña, green, rosada). The maicitos were ok I had the chicken maicitos and it had good flavor, the chicken Was good, it had some cheese but this Was The only thing I Was un happy about the limited amount of cheese. Many other places where I’ve had maicitos have more cheese than the ones here. I was looking for a very cheesy maicitos like the ones at munchies raspados but did not find it. I will not be returning for maicitos. On another occasion I came on a Sunday night for beef soup and it was very good I would return for that. I also had a cheese empanada which was good and a steak empanada which was almost all potatoe and burned. Overall this new location is ok but not my favorite place for colombian fast food.

So they were nice but slow. It took exactly 30 minutes to get the order delivery to the table from the time we ordered. The scrambled eggs were greasy and the fried eggs were a little runny for my taste. The steak was good. The empanadas were standard, nothing special. The juices sucked. There is no nice way to put it. The juices tasted like they lacked flavor and were very watered down. Since we were the only customers at the time, I don’t know why we were just ignored so much. I’m just not going to be making it there any more.

We ordered delivery from El Mega Chuzo twice in the past few weeks. The first time i called, the girl on the phone was very sweet and took my order. After about 40 minutes we hadn’t received our order so i called them back and the girl said«your food is ready but our system is down and i didn’t have a contact number or address for you» this was quite a disappointment since we had already been charged, clearly provided all of our information, and were starving! About 20 minutes later we received our order. Luckily it was still warm. But the portion size was way too small. We decided to give them another chance since we called a couple of days after their grand opening.(Also, because our favorite spot El Balcon de las Americas was already closed). The experience was disappointing once again. The delivery charge in Tamarac is $ 3 but for sunrise it is $ 6 and well, i think they should consider how many miles away the delivery address is instead of what city considering some people may live right on the border. But any how, the portions(and I must remind you) were really small. Everything was about half the size of the portions other colombian restaurants have served before and for the same price. We like to get the best bang for our buck and well who doesn’t! Definitely not in our list of places to order from any more. The pro: late night delivery The cons: expensive delivery fees, expensive prices, small portion sizes, customer service can improve.
