Terrible. Won’t go again. Let me start by saying the service was really great. Waitresses were as nice and helpful as ever and deserve credit for their work. It was my first time there and we were told about how the burgers were the best– so I ordered the ad burger. My boyfriend ordered the one with bbq sauce. Now the burger was juicy– but bland. Its like they didn’t even season with salt and pepper. My burger was suppose to come with cajun mayo but none was on it. Fries weren’t even remotely crispy, the burger was so greasy too– but the WORST thing was that there were 2 pieces of wax paper on both sides of the patty! Yes, i took a bite out of paper. It was between the patty and the fried egg. How do you even miss that when you assemble the burger? The whole meal was unappetizing. We let our waitress know and she took the burger and half our app off our bill but(not her fault at all) we didn’t think that was enough. Such a shame because we easily could have been regulars– its so close to where we live. I understand forgetting the cajun mayo– not a huge deal, but 2 huge pieces of wax paper left on the patty? Was the cook high? Definitely not going back.

Great food and great staff. Ive dealt with Brad a Lot and he knew my name the 2nd or 3rd time I went. Nice guy, along with everyone else Ive encountered there. Try the Ad burger and the Lip Smacker!

What a great restaurant for a college town. The menu is full of unique and delicious burgers and other treats that are sure to please anyone. I ordered a burger with mushrooms and Swiss cheese. It was tasty and filling. My husband got a burger that had beans and a fried egg. No clue what it’s called but he liked it. Our son got the pulled pork sandwich which is apparently the only thing he ever gets when he goes there! Relaxed atmosphere and good food equals a great experience

Monks is my favorite place for burgers. I always vow to try something new but almost always end up getting the Magic Mushroom Burger — YUM. Ive also tried their Lipsmacker, which is great, but definitely for when I’m feeling adventurous.

After all these years, I’ve yet to review Monks. Considering this spot solidified my love for burgers as a freshman back in the day, I must say Monks is more than your average burger joint. Frankly, it’s a Tallahassee right of passage. It’s a dive bar. Straight up. No frills, just thrills. From the loaded cheesy, bacon fries or the mouth-on-fire-inducing chili appetizers, all your needs are covered here. The burgers are outstanding. Plain and simple. I’ve never been let down by one burger here. And that’s saying a lot. During my last visit, the Mulhauser catered to all my desires on a cold night. Why’s that? Oh, because they put about a gallon’s worth of chili on top of the burger. Spicy, tender chili on top of a perfectly cooked, juicy, medium rare burger. The Kaiser rolls are always the right texture. And the onion rings have a crunchy coating, yet with tender onions in the middle. Yeah, Monks is Disney World for burgers. Even though this word wall consists of multiple paragraphs, I’m cutting it short. Thanks Monks for all that you do. Not just for my belly, but for Tallahassee as a whole.

I’ve passed by this restaurant dozens of times. After reading the reviews I finally decided to give them a try. I orders take out. My sister ordered the gator burger and I built my own burger. When I arrived the restaurant was packed. To pick up my meal I had to walk through the crowd of people, down the hallway to the bar where I paid for my burger. The bartender who checked me out was very nice. As I walked out a waitress thanked me for coming. I appreciated that because not many people do that anymore, even when the restaurant is as busy as it was. My food was still warm when I got home. The burger was huge. The cheese was very good and the mushrooms and onions were grilled just the way I like them. My sister’s burger was soooo good! I almost wanted to trade burgers with her. I will have to order that gator burger next time. Overall I’m very happy with the take out service and the food.

Great burger joint. Solid prices and beer options. Super good food. Nice servers. I would give five stars but it takes a little while to get your food. So as long as you’re in no rush, then I guarantee you’ll be pleased!

The Mango Habanero wings here are AMAZING! I drool while I wait for my order every single time. Their pulled pork sandwich is also one of my faves. They add a little coleslaw to it which I absolutely love. I’m also a ‘fries over guys’ type of gal EXCEPT when I come here. It’s all about the onion rings! They’re crisp, huge, and delicious.

Very creative food. Serving size is huge. We ended up having left overs for days. Recommend the pb&j burger(lip smacker). Ask about the mr delicious(not on menu) — really good.

Service was great and my lip smacker was very good. I could have drank the strawberry jam it was really good. The sweet potato fries were ok nothing extra. The smell from the grill lingered with us for several hours in our car. Yet we dined in.

As the first burger place I went to after my move to Tallahassee, recommended to me by locals and students alike, I could not have been more impressed. Every single last one of their burgers is delicious(though I am still wary of putting peanut butter and jelly anywhere near a burger) and they have the perfect sides to match each one. Nevertheless, Wells Brothers does have a tendency to nickel and dime you on added items on the burger, especially on the build your own burger, so make sure to pay attention for that. Otherwise, Wells Brothers has a high recommendation from me!

If you stop by, go sit in the back at the bar. The service there is above and beyond. Brad went over the top for me and customized my order to make sure it was what I wanted(I.e knows the menu and all ingredients, is extremely nice etc) The sweet heat wings here are amazing. I’ve had them two times and the always hit the spot. It’s a lil sweet and spicy hence the name. I recently learned that they have jalapeños for the spice as this time they were not finely chopped. Nonetheless, despite presentation they were still good. Side note I would have loved fries with my wings but I just can’t bring myself to pay almost $ 4. Those potatoes must be homegrown and organic.

I’m a fan of this spot. It’s lively, it’s cramped, it’s chock full of Tallyesque personality, FSU fandom and all(particularly in the back, you definitely wanna sit in the back). I’d be a more frequent patron, however, if they were a tad more consistent. The menu advertises VEGANGARDENBURGERS, which is always a win in this plant-eater’s book. Apparently one of the owners is vegan(or so it’s been said, via the rumor mill and all). Unfortunately, they don’t have vegan bread. A burger without bread is like the Doctor without a companion: incomplete. Despite the common vegan stereotype, I am not a rabbit. I have no fear of gluten or carbs, so I was pretty bummed to have to eat mine in a lettuce wrap.(And considering that almost all bread is naturally vegan, it seems strange that they wouldn’t have ANY on hand.) Otherwise, though, I love this spot. The bartenders are awesome, the TVs are loud, the menu is lengthy, and the food is tasty. Just get some bread, Wells bros, and you’re golden!

Growing up in a small city called Oldsmar, west of Tampa, Florida, I never knew of a popular, local burger joint you could go to knowing you’d get the satisfaction of exceptionally well made, exquisitely fun to manly tasting burgers. We had the usual Chili’s, hooter’s, Applebee’s, or any typical large-chained restaurant that you could get the great house burger or so from. But, since moving to Tallahassee I can say that I grew up in the wrong city. Well, that’s my taste buds speaking of course! Out of the vast amount of burgers they have, and the fraction I’ve been able to try out, I’ve come to love one burger the most, and that my friends is the freaking Panhandle. The best way to get it is the way it was originally intended. Thick, toasted, and BUTTERED sourdough bread, wonderful strips of red peppers, crisp bacon, & a single slice of cheddar cheese on that thick medium-well cooked burger. Oh, they throw on this house-made bbq sauce into that heavenly mixture of toppings. It’s one of the reasons this burger is so good. Of course you have your side item to add on! Get the sweet potato fries. Sweet potato anything is always good, but for some reason their sweet P. fries dipped in ketchup is addicting. Any burger you get here is one you’ll enjoy as from what I’ve encountered and heard. To those new to the area stop by with friends for a casual night out or that middle of the day hunger attack. For those of age they are only a beer & wine restaurant! The seating isn’t very familiar when your walk in, don’t worry though it’s homely. Best spots are in the back near the bar! If it’s fall or a warm winter day then sit outside at the picnic tables! It perfect out there on Florida’s good days.

A gem off the beaten path. Wells Brothers is a fun, friendly place to take your family or to hang out with friends. Traveling on I10 we took a little detour for a late lunch. To my surprise, they were really busy mid-afternoon but service was great and the food arrived quickly. I had the Rueben with a side of fruit and hubby had the black bean wrap with chips and salsa for his side. My sandwich was delicious and the fruit really fresh. No leftovers on the other side of the table either! There is a plenty of outdoor seating as well, but it was a bit too hot for it on the July day we visited.

We walked in at 2pm on a Friday afternoon. The front section was full and when you come to the back they have w bar and more seating with tvs. We were treated the moment we stepped in and by the time we were in the back we were greeted with a high chair for my daughter and our server who quickly got our drinks and was VERY friendly. He asked if this was our first time and gave us a quick run down of what the place was about. I asked if I could sample some of the BBQ sauce and he quickly bright it. I’m doing this as we go, so far I’d give it 6 stars if I could. By the way I’m from Gainesville :) The food came out in pretty impressive time and let me say first of all they can cook a perfect medium rare burger. It was delicious. The bacon was delicious. They forgot my fried egg on it but to be honest I took that bad boy down and forgot about the egg until I started typing this. All in all they should be proud. Looking at other reviews I can see how they’re doing as well as they are. Thank you and keep up the great work!!! Gary Gainesville Florida

If you’re looking for a juicy burger cooked exactly how you want it, Well’s Brothers(Monk’s) is a must try. To start we got the loaded fries which were delicious! They were covered in cheese and bacon and came with ranch dipping sauce. Next we ordered and shared the Ad Burger and the Italian Stallion Burger and we were very pleased. The Ad Burger was by far the better of the two, but both had their own unique twist to them. I got the sweet potato fries and they were some of the best I’ve ever tried, definitely go for them! If you haven’t been you gotta go to Well’s Brothers it’s one of the best places to visit in tally if you’re looking for some good burgers

I no longer crave burgers, I just crave Monk’s. We came in a busy night and were seated quick, had a couple pitchers of cider and ate every last piece of cheese off the BBQ fries we ordered. So. Good. For dinner we(four of us) got a bunch of different burgers. Everyone else got sweet potato fries with honey and I might abandon my beloved onion rings for that option next time. I can’t remember the name of the burger I got, the gator hater? Maybe? But SO delicious and was just as good as leftovers the next day. I’ll definitely be back!
