Tallahassee Gun & Pawn

I’m giving this Pawn Shop a 4 based on service and range of inventory.
I came in because I was a bit early for lunch with a friend of mine at Nick’s (next door). Friendly folks behind the counter who, I’m confident, face a fair spectrum of attitudes that grace through the entrance. Saw that they had an abundance of firearms and so I came in further.
Checked out a 4″ 686 in good condition. The asking price was $ 599. Pretty good deal for a fair-​conditioned revolver. (out of the box is currently $ 829)
Special collections seem to be musical instruments, computers and tools. An abundance of tools.
As with any Pawn shop, it’s important to compare prices before committing your dollars. Case in point, the Stanley LeverLock 30′ priced @ $ 20.00. That’s a «non-​good-​deal» item, currently available at WalMart for $ 10.88.
It’s possible that was an oversight…

I have been looking for a gun for a long time. I’ve been «playing» with a paintball gun for so long but thought it was finally time to get trained on a real weapon. First I thought about the Gun Show (a WHOLE lot of illegal activity happening there). Finally I decided to drop by this bright yellow building. I have to say at first I was a little intimidated thinking I would walk into a room that looked like a psychos bomb shelter.
I was wrong. The layout is very clear and open. Once you walk through the door you see the whole store and are quickly greeted. I wish I could remember his name (about 6 feet, great eyes, lean built, always wears a baseball hat), besides being a great looking dude he was EXTREMELY helpful.
Pro: I wasn’t looked at like a little girl. He asked me what was my purpose for the gun (knowledge and safety). When I was with other males purchasing or looking for info on guns this was the first question they were asked. When I started looking for a gun for myself, everyone else told me to get a 9 mm because «that’s what girls carry». This cute guy explained to me that for all purposes to get a 40Cal. He really made sure that I was informed about my weapon and use.
Pro: I got a Smith & Western 40 Cal (that’s a copy of a glock) with 2 extra clips, safety lock box (which is required when traveling on airplanes), and a rebate to get $ 50 back for under $ 400.
Con: I’ve been back to make other purchases and I found the other workers are maybe 40% less knowledgeable then cute guy. I gotta remember his name.
Cost, Customer Service, Location… this place is great and I always recommend.
