Great tacos! I got beef and carnitas and I think I liked the beef better, it had a great flavor that I think came from the chipotle sauce. The carnitas were also very good, moist and had a unique sweet flavor. Nice atmosphere and we had good and quick service. $ 5 sangria during happy hour was also good!

So I really don’t understand the point of having an online order capability if my order is not going to be put in until I get there. I had a flight to catch and a fairly tight time schedule. I ordered my food online when I was about 15 minutes away, hoping I could stop in, grab my food and go. This was not the case. I came in, told the cashier my name and my order, and he yelled my order out across to the kitchen. I sat and waited another 10+ minutes to receive my food. I ate the nachos, which were good. So I can’t complain about the food. I just wish I knew they were going to ignore my online order so that I could have gone somewhere else and saved myself some time.

I really like this spot! Although it’s not the most authentic Mexican, the food is good for the most part. The tacos can be soggy though, so I always get sauce on the side. I love that you can sit inside or outside, and the connection with Fire Bettie’s gives the option to get cocktails!

Stopped in for an early dinner, place was packed, and yet still was able to get up to the counter to have my order taken quickly. Tacos were phenomenal. Mahi taco cooked perfectly. Fried shrimp taco was on point! Best super FRESH guac I’ve ever had. Will be back!

It’s not quite as good as Tako Cheena in Orlando which has a similar creative ingredients concept BUT the tacos were really quite good. I had the pescadero and the Taj.1. Of the two, I liked the Taj better. What made the experience for me was the simple yet perfect condiment bar. They have 3 salsas available, both hot and mild reds and green, lime slices, jalapeños AND fresh cilantro so I am very happy with TR bc it’s not a taco without cilantro. I tried the hot red and green salsas and both were great. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and it’s located in a nice part of Tallahassee in a little complex with several bars, restaurants and a coffee shop. There is plenty of parking. They also serve beer in bottles and a couple on tap. Overall, I really enjoyed my tacos and my visit there this afternoon. I will definitely be coming back now that I live in Tallahassee.

Came hungry. Left fully satisfied and RAVING about our meal. This is seriously amazing food. We had the Carne Santana(steak) and James Camarones(fried shrimp) tacos. Each version had fresh, crisp, and flavorful components that pared well with the protein. Perhaps Taco Republik would consider coming to Cape Coral? Please! The space has a hipster vibe with inside and outside seating. The staff are friendly and on top of things. The menu is succinct, so you can zero in on what you want to order. You order and pay at the counter and they bring your order to your table. In addition to the tacos, we ordered tostones to share. They were tasty and filling. Sharing was the way to go, as we wanted to enjoy our entire meal. Chips and the salsa bar were complimentary with our orders. The ADM Hot salsa was my favorite. I could eat this by the bowl full. I didn’t find it hot but it did have a suggestion of heat. What I LOVED about it was the blend of ingredients giving this house-made version one of the best flavor profiles I’ve encountered in salsa. Specialty tacos were $ 4 each or 3 of the same for $ 10 making this quick and delicious meal budget friendly too. 5 Stars all day long!

Tacos have never been my favorite but I don’t mind eating one from time to time. Heck, I lived in Texas for nearly seven years so I’ve deff had my fair share of tacos. Taco Republic in midtown is on my way home so I pass by this place almost everyday. Finally, I decided to stop in for lunch. The restaurant is bright and spacious. Lunch crowd was small due to spring break. I ordered two«republic» tacos: one fish and one steak. My tacos were huge and loaded with fresh ingredients which I really liked. I was mostly impressed with the colorful chips and the free salsa bar. They had 3 different kinds of salsa, all were very fresh and tasty. Tacos here were decent but they were not memorable enough flavor wise for me to come back. Between Taco Republic and Tacospeak, the latter gets my vote without a doubt. I swear by Tecospeak’s pulled pork! I’ll deff make sure to plan a trip to Taco Libre soon so we can finally get a clear taco winner in this town!

Clear menu, food comes out pretty fast even when busy, cool music, GREAT tacos(I got the pescado Escobar and the carne Santana). The ingredients in each taco were paired very well and enhanced the fresh flavors. I’ve had better yuca fries… They were a little dry. I’ll come back for the tacos and try the tostones instead

Amazing tacos! Amazing service! My friend and I stopped by on our road trip back north and we decided Tallahassee was a good stopping point. We had a really great time. The Yucca fries were phenomenal, the tacos are to die for. I had the Taj.0 and James Camarones. The James was my favorite. Excellent marriage of flavors. I loved the freshness of the mangos and the crunch of the shrimps. Enough said — 10⁄10! I would go to Tallahassee just to get these tacos again. As the lady at the shop nearby said: «Best place in the city to eat!»

Small place so get crowded quickly. On a warmer day, the porch is generally considered the best place to sit. Service is pretty quick too. But my favorite part of the restaurant is the short and sweet menu. They have in the menu the things they do best. My favorite is the Camerones.

Tacos are not just for Tuesdays!!! This was our second visit to Taco Republik and it did not disappoint. Ordered 6 tacos online for pickup via EatStreet. Lunch was ready when expected and were plated very nicely in our see-thru togo containers. My Carne Santana Taco’s were a little on the salty side but were still very good and my husband loved his Taj.0 Tacos.

Delicious, quick and great service. Flavors are great… my favorite are the yuca fries, they’re fresh and crispy enough to give a good crunch without being burnt. Also, the Carnitas tacos are well cooked and seasoned. Definitely coming back. If you choose their chip salsas, the mild has no kick ATALL but the flavors are good; the hot salsa is mild.

Spanish donuts! Try them! I was disappointed they didn’t have margaritas, but there is beer. The three tacos I tried were all good – fresh ingredients and interesting combinations. Parking here is kind of a pain, though. The lot behind the restaurant is said to be the best place, but it was very full, too. I also actually had a hard time finding this place even with the directions. It is tucked between the coffee shop and the arcade bar and faces Thomasville Rd.

After all the feedback I heard and reviews I read, I had to get here to try this place. It did not disappoint! Tried three of their tacos and each were assembled perfectly, and tasted amazing. Not sure how the gal at the counter does it — takes orders, runs food, grabs side items for customers and busses tables! That woman deserves a raise! For my first visit, I tried these wonderful tacos: Pablo Pescado, El Bufalo, and Carne Santana. Almost did the tostones too, and glad I didn’t — so full! Can’t wait to come back and try more!

So we went here passing through Tallahassee looking for something that was not so commercialized, but I was not overly impressed. Yes the food is fresh, the staff is friendly, the service wad fast enough… But the overall experience and food was just O.K. If I was asked to go here again I would decline and look for a Moe’s or Chipotle insisted

I like Taco Republik for its variety and interesting combination of ingredients to make unique tacos. It’s definitely not authentic Mexican food, but it does the trick for tacos if you’re in the mood. There are several standard style tacos like cartitas, steak, chicken, and pork, but TR also has some other specialty tacos which are really tasty(but more expensive). My personal favorites are the Carne Santana and the Taj.0, which is Tandoori chicken and yogurt sauce. There’s also a nice salsa bar at the restaurant which is pretty fresh. TR says their hot salsa is pretty spicy but I find it really tame honestly. Getting three tacos will probably run you around $ 10-$ 12, which is more expensive than other taco joints in the area where you can get the same number of tacos for half the price. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican, this probably isn’t your place, but if you’re looking for satisfying, flavorful and interesting taco/burrito combinations, TR is a good pick in Tallahassee.

Ate here for the first time today and was really, really pleased. But also kinda annoyed I’ve lived here for almost a year and never had one of their tacos. I went with two steak tacos(Santana something). Boyfriend got chicken quesadilla and we shared tostones.($ 21 all together). We both filled up on tostones and left with boxes of food, I would have been fine with one taco and some tostones. The sauce that accompanies the tostones is KILLER and the tostones themselves have a great texture. My tacos were the best ones I’ve had in Tallahassee. The pickled veggies really elevated the meat and I added a little extra cilantro. My boyfriends quesadilla was my favorite though — the huge chunks chicken is spicy and flavorful. I’ll be back in like, a week. So darn good.

A taco joint worth five stars? No hesitation, 100% yes! Taco Republik serves gourmet tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos and side items that are fresh and delicious. During my most recent visit, I pigged out on Carne Santana(grilled flank steak) and Pablo Pescado(lightly fried Mahi) tacos and an order of yucca fries(Latin root, a distant cousin of a french fry). It’s obvious the cooks possess a strong attention to detail. The steak was tender and juicy, while not over-coked. Pickled red onions and maybe a lime, cilantro cream sauce balanced well and blatantly watered my mouth. The Mahi had a great crisp and the Asiany slaw was the crème de la crème. The tacos are served with colorful chips, which were crunchy and salted appropriately. MUST: make sure to acquaint yourself with the sauce bar. The mild sauce was fresh, acidic and filled with chopped white onion. But then there’s the verde sauce. Wow, this salsa was addictive. It had a great tang, a kind that wakes up your taste buds. Then, the yucca fries. Oh good heavens, I’m a diehard fan. These may be superior to french fries? Hmm. All I know is they were soft and chewy, but still crisp enough that you were able to bite through them. Paired with a garlicy, chipotle based sauce, holy toledo, these were out of bounds. And on top of all of the taco goodness, the service was friendly and timely. They offer local, Proof beer on tap(always a plus). Cleanliness is also a priority as the store is spotless from top to bottom. Taco Republik has outside seating as well. With a prime location in the heart of midtown, it’s hard not visit multiple times a week. Keep calm and taco on.
