Groupon is a great third party for deals all over and I purchased a $ 40 Groupon for Po’Boys. When we first arrived, I politely asked the server how are you able to use the deal with selections and all she said was«You have to spend more than $ 40 to add it to the check». I’m not sure if it was a off day or there was prior altercations with other guests, but she was not helpful or welcoming at all. The food was pricey for a «hole in wall» type establishment in Tallahassee. When we placed our order with our server and our food came out it was burned. The strangest thing was there was no other guests in the restaurant during the afternoon shift and I wondered if it had to do with Christmas break. My boyfriend sent back his food to give it a second chance but no improvements were noticed on the second try. I personally will not be coming back to this restaurant at all not only because of the food but the service was horrible. Our stomachs were not happy they day of or the day after. You have been warned and eat at your own risk! Happy Unilocaling! Ricky

Was in town overnight for work and stopped in based on a quick Google search — coworker wanted Cajun food. Turns out it was a local college bar that makes awesome food. The waitress and I were on the same page, ordering the Chicken Philly Po’ Boy. I would have talked up the waitress a little more too if my AARP qualified coworker wasn’t invested in telling me stories of his four-legged, furry«kids.» The Chicken Philly came in as a foot long, cheesy brick of greatness. I would have inhaled it if it weren’t for the Cajun seasoned fries that literally choked me up. My fault to literally inhale dry seasoning Nothing a glass of Luengling couldn’t fix — did I mention they had Luengling? I don’t know if it was my incredible hunger, but the food was delicious and took me no time at all to enjoy the place. Check it out, probably during a Friday night.

We waited two hours for breakfast wraps. And they came out wrong. We were at the restaurant from 11 – 130. The servers were nice but so overwhelmed. Clearly this place has the worst management in Tallahassee.

Gator bites were delicious. Came here with a larger group. The waitresses were sweet. But the kitchen was incredibly slow. We were at lunch for two hours! Good thing we had nowhere to be quickly. We won’t be back.

We stopped here because we had a Groupon. I don’t know if we’d have payed full price for the food, because I’m guessing it was probably run of the mill for the area. Being from Pennsylvania though, I loved the new(to me) fried gator(really tasty, only slightly rubbery), the remoulade sauce(nice and spicy), and the Cajun fries(although they were just store bought fries with Cajun seasoning, they were still pretty tasty). Our group of three ordered the gator bites, a roast beef au jus po’boy(the meat was slightly sinewy, but still yummy), a blackened chicken po’boy(very spicy and very yummy), a buffalo chicken po’boy(spicy, pretty tasty), an order of beignets(very doughy and too heavy, tasted like hushpuppies rolled in powdered sugar, not recommended), and an order of apple beignets(just slices of apples battered and deep fried, topped with powdered sugar and served with honey, not bad). The food was good, the desserts left a bit to be desired(but then again, we were really full by the time we ordered dessert). The service was good. We were going to go back before we went home, but we didn’t make it back before the end of the vacation.

After being disappointed by the Tallahassee Crawfish Festival, which was most likely a drag because of the bad weather, my friends and I were determined to get our hands on some crawfish. A few of us ordered Po’ Boys, one the Bayou Gumbo, and I got the Shrimp basket and King Crawfish. We were all really happy with our choices! They were well made and well presented. The friend who got the gumbo said it’s one of the best he’s had. I had Cajun fries and a remoulade sauce that were delicious. Other friends ordered sweet potato fries that were perfectly made. Drinks and food were overall good prices. Had a friendly and polite server. Definitely will return. Bathroom set up was a bit awkward, as was part of the restaurant, but I’m pretty used to that with Tallahassee restaurants by now.

So the dinner is 3 stars. More options and really good prices. Brunch however was inedible. They were out of everything that sounded remotely good. We were one of three parties there its not like there was a huge amount of people they were feeding. So I order coffee, it was not good coffee. They do not have cream or half&half or milk. Only nondairy presweetend junk. If you take your coffee cream no sugar you are out of luck. We then ordered mimosas that tasted like there was no champagne and they used hi-c. We orders about 3 things that they were out of so I decided to get the breakfast burger. It specifically says fried egg on top. Turns out they don’t use eggs. I get a dried gristly burger with a disgusting«scrambled egg» on top. It literally made me want to get sick after one bite. I am not a picky person the one thing however that will make me ill is powdered eggs. I asked the waitress why the egg was not fried and was told«we don’t use real eggs». For the first time ever in 25 years I sent food back. Normally will just pick at what will eat but there was not one thing that I could even pick at. You would be better off going to McDonald’s for breakfast, at least there you expect that the eggs are fake.

Horrible service! I’ve been here a handful of times now and can honestly say this place sucks! This review is for my last visit which took place in the afternoon on a Sunday. Important to note that there was only 1 other customer in the place when we arrived that had already received their food and there were a bunch of employees just sitting around at the back table while 1 girl ran the place. First off, the server did not write our order down, 2 fountain drinks and 2 po boys. Not hard to remember you would think but it apparently it was for her.(Also they were out of what I originally wanted to order, annoying but no big deal) So about 15 min after we order another couple come in and they order and shorty after the waitress brings us food. We look and TOUCH the food then realize this is not our order. We call the waitress over and tell her it’s not ours and she says«oh I thought yall ordered first and we replied we did… And then the other couple speaks up after over hearing the convo saying that was their order. She takes the food that was on our table that we touched and gives it to the other table. That couple asks the waitress for a fork TWICE, they finish their meal and leave, the fork never made it to the table. So after the waitress goes to check on our food she comes back and says oh how did you want your po boy made. It’s been around 30 min since she was suppose to put our order in. So we wait… finally our food arrives, I ordered sweet potato fries and received regular fries, which I didn’t eat but I didn’t want to wait another 45 min for new fries and my boyfriend meal comes out with no lettuce. We eat the food, she brings the check. We never complained about anything but she comped my sandwich off the check. Nice but I would rather pay for a meal I enjoyed. We will not be going back even if the food is good. I’ve been serving for 6 years and know how a restaurant should be ran, maybe if the waitresses and kitchen stepped up their game this place would have more business and better reviews and not be loosing so much money giving away food because of bad service.

Good food, terrible service. Waited 15 minutes for a server, asked the bartender if he knew who out server was, said he didn’t care, wasn’t his table and then went around the bar and tried to fight us

Written after three separate visits: Pros: — Lots of TV’s with Direct TV package, so they will have the game you’re looking for — Traditional New Orleans menu — Decent amount of beer taps — Well-priced drinks and specials Cons: — Food prices seem higher than expected(approximately $ 9 for one of the most sinewed roast beef au jus I’ve ever had) — Flys all over the bar(if you’ve had a drink with a novelty straw already in it, I have bad news for you) — Frazzled management(pulling up the NFL games was such an ordeal last weekend that it took 40 minutes to get the games to come on; that was the first quarter and then some for folks like me) — Lots of wait staff watching football games during service; never extremely busy, but doesn’t look good to the patron — Still having difficulties with billing system(one of my tips was not added to a bill; supposed to show a six dollar tip for drinks and excellent service totaling $ 12.25 and was not charged for the tip) Maybe they’ll get their act together, but I’d suggest sticking to beer or mimosa on Sundays, and go with your own preference when it comes to the food.

Ok. Let me start by saying I have been a Po’Boy’s patron for over 15 years. It used to be one of my favorite places in Tallahassee, and I have eaten there on many special occasions(Brunch the first weekend I was 21, for example). However, this place has gone WAAY downhill in the last couple years. The last 2 times I ordered food from there, my order was incorrect. They also have a new website(which is not easily located using Google), so if you plan to order off , be prepared for them to no longer carry what you want. The menu is way different, and honestly they’ve dropped a lot of their best items. Today I ordered the crawfish po’boy. It was awful. I’ve had this dozens of times, but today it was cold, the bread was soggy and there were two nasty warm, but raw, tomatoes on it.(I ordered the sandwich with no tomato). I pulled to tomatoes off, but because it was all squished into the(now soggy) crawfish, everything tasted like tomato. Gross. The only good thing I can say is their house salad dressing is still amazing. But, for the price/quality it not worth going to for just salad dressing. Unfortunately, I will likely never go to Po’Boys again. This once-great restaurant has declined too much.

Great seafood gumbo and jambalaya. Fried gator was pretty good too, but a little salty. People who worked there were really cool. Food for takeout ready within 15 mins.

This place was absolutely disgusting. Our waitress sucked every single question we asked her we got an opposite answer so our food was horrible. Flies all over the place and on our food. The bathroom was so so dirty I was trying to not fall from the gross floors. Everything about it was terrible and we waited hours for our lunch food. You’re better off at a fast food place down the street.

Well I just left this place i never write reviews because I have better things to do with my time, but apparently so does their chef. I had the Gator tail a few years ago under old management it was good however now new owners i guess… seems like they drove all the way to Gainsville to get the gator(waited forever after placing my order) then what i got looked as if it had been cooked on the surface of the sun. I was neither satisfied nor full. This now takes the place of my least favorite restaurant behind The Real McCoys(San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville Fl.) Now thats bad. Po’ Boys, more like No’ Boys.

I was actually pleasantly surprised. I found a Groupon and my fiancé remembered it from his college days(five or so years ago) so we gave it a try. The service was great and it is dog friendly. Our server offered water for the dog which made me like the place already before we even got to look at the menu. What was great was their King Crawfish soup. That was to DIEFOR. It was creamy and really rich with plenty of crawfish chunks. The gator po boy was pretty decent. Nothing crazy good, but decent. The gator was plentiful, well cooked and not rubbery. I just wished that there were more veggies on it. We got the Cajun fries which were standard. We didn’t order dessert because it was actually a lot of food, but we will definitely be back for the soups!

Ok really people? Po Boys is easily a 4 star establishment, with a wide variety of food and drink and friendly service at great prices. Don’t be pretentious. Like the food in new Orleans better? Go there! Us Tally folk don’t mind this creole inspired café one bit. Obviously, it’s a great place to drink. Packed for football games and non-holidays like St. Patty’s. Expect to wait if it’s slammed– and try to be courteous anyway(the kitchen is tiny). Your server is likely an adorable 20 year old with a nice figure and light, charming southern drawl. Your dog is welcome and you can come as you are. As for the food, don’t miss the fried pickles. Perfectly pucker-worthy dill chips(who uses spears???) lightly battered and served with a delectable dipping sauce. So many delicious po boys to choose from, but I’m partial to fried oyster, shrimp, chicken parm, and French dip. But get the pickles. Trust me. Bottom line: great food, perfectly casual college atmosphere, cheap beer and prices overall.

This place is garbage. The food at least. Def a fun place to chill and drink with friends. But there’s nothing appetizing about Po’boys. Those who disagree have prob been in Tally waaaay too long… and can no longer tell the difference between good food and bad. By the end of my time there I thought Guthrie’s was the most delicious chicken in the world… and that’s when I realized I was drinking too much. It tastes like straight salt for god’s sake. And delicious secret sauce. 2 stars after adjusting for the lack of competition in Tallahassee.

My GF is an FSU alum and this was one of her former haunts. We stopped in, «for old time’s sake» and ordered a couple of Po’boys. I had the shrimp and she had the crawfish. The shrimp was on point. We ordered half sandwiches because we just had a slice of pizza less than an hour beforehand at Momo’s, but we were determined to relive her glory days. The crawfish sandwich was decent. I’ve never been a fan of crawfish so for me to be wowed by a sandwich it would have to be pretty phenomenal – go with the shrimp instead. We also had a round of beers. She had a Miller Lite(bottle only) and I had a PBR draught. We spent about $ 20 and she left with her memories intact. Food memories are the worst memories, because your tastes evolve so much over time. And when it’s been nearly 10 years between visits, those memories can get foggy. Thankfully, Po’boys came through this time. And apparently every time…

This place is loud and dirty. The food isn’t anything spectacular and the fries tasted like the frozen crinkle kind you can buy at the grocery store, with some seasoning thrown on. I was disappointed overall.(The fried pickles were good!)
