I’m telling you what-THE BEST sandwich I’ve had in like forever! I ordered online for delivery and they were quick. I tired the Mediterranean Turkey Melt and it was better than I expected. Pita was fresh and a little crisp, just how I like it. I ordered a chicken Brest melt for my husband(he hasn’t tried it yet) which also looks and smells amazing! Can’t wait to try them again next time I’m back in Tallahassee

Metro Deli is a stable when it comes to sandwiches in Tallahassee. Located right in the heart of downtown, they provide high-quality sandwiches at a fast pace. But you’re stopping by, or ordering for your office, Metro Deli is a spot you won’t be disappointed in. Major key is always checking for the daily specials. My favorite is the cranberry turkey. Only downside is it’s pretty small so be ready to get cozy as you will probably be sitting next to a stranger. Today I had the garlic turkey. Loaded with lots of meat and a delicious garlic taste, the sandwich was just what I needed. Made it a combo with chips and a drink and it filled me up perfectly.

I LOVE Metro Deli. Not only does the staff get to know you quickly but also your«usual.» If I have an hour for lunch, I walk over to Metro, place my order, dine-in, and still make it back on time. Quality food. I’ll miss this local gem when I move to Central Florida.

I have been eating at Metro for years and it is the best sandwich shoppe in Tallahasee by far. Perfect made to order sandwhiches, always fresh. And really good daily specials. It is the hands down favorite of folks who work downtown.

Let’s face it; the downtown deli shouldn’t be as good as it is. Luckily for us, Metro Deli brings their A game every day. You either get it or you don’t. Tattooed sandwich creators strut behind the counter pumping out grinders, melts and sandwiches like an assembly line to Tallahassee’s white collar crowd. Yesterday’s delicacy — THE Pastrami Grinder. Meaty pastrami, pickles, Swiss cheese and mustard all pressed on a toasted hoagie roll. I was utterly speechless. The juiciness coming from the meat makes my mouth water as I type. I worked downtown a few summers back, which was when I discovered this no nonsense deli. I do not frequent Metro as much as I should. The hot sandwiches are their specialty, but they’ll craft a gigantic salad or a breakfast treat if you desire. I’m sure most will award Metro four stars. Some might not understand the greatness that lies beneath. For $ 8 and a 6 minute wait, what’s not to rave about? Metro Deli is a tucked away Tallahassee treasure.

Really good food. I’ve ordered just about everything on the menu and I’ve never been disappointed. The baze is my favorite sandwich to order it’s a chicken salad sandwich with peppers and onions on it. So good. Also they deliver so quick which is surprising because they ride their bikes. So they’re fast and eco friendly. If you haven’t eaten lunch yet you need to.

Bottom line: these guys are uncharacteristically focused on ensuring a top-quality experience for dine-in, pickup and delivery alike. My wife and I come periodically — not nearly as much as we’d like. Every time, however, I’m impressed with the team cohesion of these guys. Each one, from my discussions, handles himself as though he were an owner. I’m a stickler for business cultures and I have an eye for strong ones and weak ones. These guys seem to form a tight cohesion in which everyone knows their own sphere of operations and executes very well. There’s no mistaking a metro-deli delivery guy. Swift on foot or bike and determined to get back to the deli after drop-off in order to distribute the next order. I’ve already waxed on about the creativity of the food in my previous piece. When you do come here — notice the service you receive. I’d be surprised if you weren’t impressed. The one modification that would make Metro Deli perfect is having to additional 2-tops out on the sidewalk. Let pedestrian traffic bisect through the middle. Pop a couple of umbrellas out there and you’ve got a genuine metropolitan sidewalk experience. THAT would be putting the metropolitan in «Metro»!

Good for a quick bite, never had anything that completely blew me away, but haven’t eaten here since I began eating meat, so I could be unfairly biased

Stumbled un this place while walking downtown and had the perfect deli lunch. The service was great and the food was even better. Biggest surprise for me was three different vegetarian options. I chose the veggie melt and they made it exactly to my liking. The young guy making sandwiches is fantastic. He was helpful in ordering and made sure our good was just how we wanted it. Where rude can you get service like that and fill your belly downtown for under 9 bucks a piece with a drink and side?

Stopped here for a fast lunch and it was great! I chose the chicken cordon bleu wrap and was not disappointed. It’s toasted, with just the right amount of honey mustard dressing, and fresh yummy chicken. I love that their sandwiches come with a pickle. Prices are reasonable, as the portions are quite large. Can’t wait to go for breakfast tomorrow!

Conveniently located near the State Capitol, Metro Deli’s menu is nothing spectacular — just what you would find in any other deli — but their staff is among the most pleasant folks I have ever encountered. We stopped by here on a roadtrip to simply use their facilities. I always feel guilty when I do this, so I at least try to get something so I feel like I am not taking advantage of anyone. The daughter was hungry and ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. It turned out to be bigger than I was anticipating and cheaper compared to the other grilled cheese sandwiches at other places. I had a bite and it was good. What would make me recommend Metro Deli are the friendly guys who were there that day. When we told them that we really are just passing through and have probably just half an hour to get an impression of Tallahassee, they encouraged us to check out the capitol and go to the top floor to get a great view of the city. They also told us to try to visit the museum which was literally just across the State Capitol(20 steps from the daughter’s count — she was kind of leaping). So go check out Metro Deli for legit sandwiches and pleasant service.

Excellent for a light and Filling lunch. Broccoli and cheddar soup was delicious and for a half sandwich and a bowl of soup 6 bucks was extremely fair. My sandwich was well put together and tastes fresh. Will definitely be back! Very delicious! Nice workers. Crowded and poor parking but easily acceptable.

Was on a trip to Tallahassee with my son and wandered in here about 3pm after doing the walking tours all day. Ordered a whole Cuban, bag of chips, Brunswick stew and drink. Was plenty of food to split with my kid and it was delicious. Also, we stayed until 3:40, not realizing they close at 3:30, and the guys never said a word. They were so sweet and polite. I really like this place. Cuban was thick and hot and yummy. Stew was chunky and very flavorful.

Great location near the capital. Only popped in for a drink but the staff had no issue with allowing us to linger and talk for as much time as we needed. Seemed clean and I’ll try to check out the menu next time I’m in downtown.

Their meatball and cheese steak subs are very lackluster. I’ve been disappointed with them every time I’ve gotten one there. Their deli sandwiches and grinders are much better and are actually pretty tasty. I had their broccoli cheese soup the other day and it was pretty horrible. It’s very watered down and there was absolutely no cheese in it whatsoever. It was basically yellow water with a few pieces of broccoli in it. Very very disappointed in the broccoli cheese soup! In addition, this place is getting very very pricey! I ordered a grinder sandwich, cup of soup, and a fountain drink. The price came to $ 12.31! Then I of course felt obligated to tip $ 2 to the delivery guy. so my simple deli lunch came to about $ 15! For a company that depends on downtown workers to buy their food on a daily basis, this is way too much to pay for a deli lunch. To add insult to injury, they upped all their prices but failed to update their website. So when you place an order by phone expecting it to be a particular price, you end up paying more in the end because they upped their prices without bothering to change their menu on their OWN website. As of today, their soups are listed as $ 2.50. Now they are $ 2.75 but haven’t been updated. Their drinks aren’t $ 1.50 anymore, they are $ 1.75. Due to this place being very hit or miss with their subs and soups, and the expensiveness of the food, I can’t give it more than 2 stars.

Got to Tallahassee starving, and walked into this deli. I was recommended to try the chicken cordon bleu(chicken, ham, swiss, light lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard). I ordered it with garlic sauce, and it hit the spot. It was pressed, and perfectly done. I hate wraps that drip the dressing all over your fingers, and make a complete mess — not the case here. I’d recommend it for a quick, delicious and economical lunch spot! Great oldies music selection, too!

For me the Benchmark Deli sandwich I like to order is simple it goes by many names and at Metro Deli it rocks and rolls! Rye Corn Beef Swiss Coleslaw Russian Dressing Grilled (I add tomato sometimes but thats just me not typical) It was awesome, I ate half and wanted to stop, knew I should, tried to talk myself into it, ultimately my primal side took over and before I could stop the forward momentum the whole darn heap of happy flavor was no where to be seen, I knew where it went, down my gullet, and wow, how happy was I! Complimented along the way with a crisp bottle of IBC root beer what else can one ask for? If I lived around here this spot would be a regular stop for me with out a doubt! Hope I can make it back one day for another round of great deli delight!

A Michelin three star, it’s not. A good deli, it sure is. When we first walked in, my girlfriend remarked, «It reminds me of New York!» Except they’re friendly here… not so much in New York. It’s a no frills deli, but they have great sandwiches.
