Cancuns Sports Bar & Grille

A few colluegues and I were on our way to the airport when we decided rather spontaneously to give this place a try.
We were greeted with a friendly staff that directed us to our seat. Our waitress provided us with great recommendations (as did fellow Unilocaler) and unlimited servings of chips and salsa.
I ordered the lunch burrito and portions were generous for me, but might be just enough for hungry college students. The feel is definitely fraty with a sprinkle of Hooters. Overall a great experience.

Service is quick and efficient, drinks are made well and food is tasty. I really appreciate the good portions since it isn’t as cheap as other Mexican options in town. Chips and salsa to start is always a nice touch and they are awesome about refilling throughout the meal!

Every time I come in here I have to wait to be seated and served. But everyone else gets service with no hesitation. I don’t understand that. I keep coming back because the drinks and the food are awesome but the servers act like they don’t even see me. Then they catch attitudes when I point it out. Do better, please!
Message to Cancuns:
Last night I was a patron at Cancuns and I experienced the worse customer service yet. I’ve been there plenty of times and had a bad experience that left a bad taste in my mouth but last night topped it. My waitress was Courtney. At first she made us wait 10 mins. Before attending to us and gave the excuse that she had a larger party to deal with, even though we watched her lean over and speak with a man, alone who came in after we did (he was white, we are not). I was treating my sister to dinner and drinks because she is new to the area and she heard about this restaurant from social media so she wanted to give it a try. After watching now Courtney attend to one person who was there after us she felt uncomfortable, because this is her first time here and as an Army bet she saw the actions of Courtney as a sign of disrespect. The overall service was subpar and Courtney’s attentiveness and customer service was well below where it should have been. Finally, my sister ordered a frozen drink and at the bottoms she found a short, black, straight hair. My sister and I have curly red hair so we know it wasn’t ours and we informed Courtney about it. She took it to her manager and made the following statement: «there’s nothing that we can do about your drink now that you have drank it all, sorry about the hair but we can’t do anything. Even if we took the drink off, the price would be the same.» How disrespectful to assume that we would want any money taken off of our receipt. I addressed Courtney about her assumption that we wanted anything other than for her and her manager to pay attention to what’s going on our drinks. She became upset that I addressed her bad customer service stating: «I have never had complaints about my customer service… you know what? I don’t have to deal with this!» As she walked away and threw her hands up. It was childish and unprofessional. I informed her manager and he touched my arm saying that he is sorry. Unacceptable! I am not a Cancuns girl that you can rub on! I asked him not to touch me. If you are going to address me please just speak, don’t touch me. I am a college graduate with 2 degrees and though I am young and attractive please do not mistake my looks for a way to make a pass at me, it’s not ok. He didn’t take my complaint seriously and cut me off several times. I won’t be back and will not recommend anyone, especially people of color to even order a glass of water. I can’t believe what experienced here.

I’ve been twice and ordered the handburger and a patty melt — both were inedible. They don’t season the meat… it tastes like it went straight from the freezer to the stovetop. They don’t even add salt and pepper.
Also the service is shit — we asked for a minute to look over the menu and the waitress did not return for almost 10−15min.

My husband and I were visiting our friend over the fourth and he took us here for a solid lunch.
I’m sometimes hesitant when it comes to tex-​mex or Americanized Mexican food, but this was pretty awesome for a Sunday. They had 2 for 1 drink specials including margaritas and shots. I had the chicken tacos and they were surprisingly delicious. The margarita was strong and tasty and the waitress Nicole was very friendly.
Also the salsa, I could just come here for that. It was so good with a little bit of kick to it.
Definitely would recommend!

One of my worst restaurant experiences ever. First after going through 2 large buckets of golf balls at seminole, I was disappointed there was nothing but bar stools, nothing with a back. I can live with that though. The service though was terrible. 1^st our sever would blatantly ignore me and my dad as she walked to other tables. When she wasn’t ignoring us, she was sitting at the bar talking, or possibly flirting with an older man. I’ve never had to wave down my server from across the restaurant while they sat at a bar. Also good luck trying to get help from another server, the them of them were at a table talking to two guys who were eating dunkin donuts. Also I didn’t receive 70 cents in change after paying in cash. Don’t go here unless you want the worst service ever, or be blatantly ignored. I guess if you may want to go if you want to drink underage because they didn’t check my ID or my GF and I’ve seen instagram photos of high school senior throwing back pitchers here. I can’t stress how terribly frustrating the service was.

A rough place on the bad west side of town. A shooting yesterday. Food is average. Only go for margaritas or chips

I come here a few times a week and the food and service is always great. All these people complaining sound like they expected a college bar/​restaurant to operate the same way as a 5 star white table cloth establishment does. Get a grip and go somewhere else! In the meantime I’ll continue coming to Cancuns and eating decently priced food and drinking for pretty cheap with all the great staff!

So far sitting here for about 40mins, rush to take your order, then leaves you sitting. Have yet to even see our food, music is very loud, and our waitress follows behind the manager with a O he already left your drinks, I’m sure you will need them. Hasn’t checked on us since. But plenty of time to be playin on her phone.

SERVICE SUCKS!!! The place was packed but noting 2 bartenders at each bar can’t handle. Never will I go there again, they seem to not train they’re staff. And when I asked for the manager, I was told by the waiter that he doesn’t want to be the one who asked for him. Never again

I went here with a friend while visiting him in college. It was very close (within walking distance) from local student housing. The place seemed busy walking up to the place but when we got inside it wasn’t at all. (About 4−5pm) we sat outside and were surprised to get some free chips and salsa while we waited. It was very good and I ate a whole basket by myself while I waited and looked over the menu. The salsa was fresh and chunky and the chips weren’t too salty. Plus they were free and I was hungry :) I ordered the BBB burger and he got the Philly cheese steak. I wasn’t too impressed with my burger but I will say: it was HUGE! The fries were curly and were just ‘good’ his cheese steak seemed average also. The service was a little slow but nothing rediculous. Prices weren’t too bad. I think they have a happy hour. I seen something about $ 1 tequila shots. This place is kind of weird though they have a serve all kinds of things from melts to wings to burgers to chimichangas (which I want to try next time) so yes, I’d go again. It was convenient, inexpensive and decent food.

Service is really slow and forgetful. Food was awesome, but probably not a place I would go back to.

Daytime: The food was great, service was a little slow, but the bartender was quick with the refills of my drinks (Special was buy 1 get 1 free)
Nighttime: Good crowd (College kids) and good music (Latin style) music is a little too loud, servers and management are friendly as well!
Alway have a good time when I go!

The only thing that keeps Cancun’s from getting one star is that the food itself was perfectly edible.
Cancun’s is definitely aimed at college students who won’t notice (or will like!) all the negative aspects of Cancun’s after so many $ 1 tequilas.
The parking lot looked busy when we pulled up on a weekend afternoon, but the cars must belong to the staff, as the restaurant was almost completely empty at noon on a Saturday. That was a bad sign, but I remained intrepid and ate here so you don’t have to.
Service was friendly, but absolutely terrible. The (Anglo) server was friendly, but very slow and appeared to be busy with paperwork at a table near the door where she and the other workers had their fast food items and personal belongings laid out. One couple actually walked out while we ourselves were waiting. The drinks came fairly quickly, but considering the number of Hispanic workers (I believe this included the owner or manager) that were just standing around while we waited and waited for the server to get back up and help us, someone should have stepped up. It took them so long to bring the chips and salsa I had basically resigned myself that this place didn’t even BRING you chips and salsa.
Also, the music is ludicrously loud, and sounds like the sort of alternative rock you hear on Lithium on SiriusXM radio. I like that kind of music fine, but it was distractingly loud in an empty restaurant in the middle of the day.
The menu is not full Tex-​Mex as one might expect, but instead, in addition to fajitas and enchiladas has burgers, chicken, and lots of other things. A taqueria this ain’t.
The bottom line is that Cancun’s just isn’t a very good restaurant. Shoddy service, indifferent management, decent but unspectacular Mexican food, and loud music. What is this place, a Mexican restaurant? A sports bar? A nightclub? Figure it out Cancun’s, then maybe you will be worth visiting.

I do agree with the first reviewer, the music is ridiculously loud here at night. Do not come unless you enjoy having yelling conversations, or just don’t want tot talk to anyone. The owner apparently wants this to be a nightclub instead of a restaurant. In truth, it’s sub-​par as either. It’s definitely a college crowd, which is not great when they get sloshed on the cheap alcohol (for example, a highly promoted item/​event is the $ 1 tequila shots on Thurdays). This is actually a pretty chill place to watch sports during the day. They have the NFL Package thing, showing every game on Sundays and during the week, and MLB, college sports, some soccer, and last I checked they carry some boxing and MMA PPV events. But in the later hours, all through the week, when the college kiddies invade the place, …be elsewhere.

Great drink specials… Music was to loud! Couldn’t hear anyone I was with.
