To me 3 Stars is average, four is great, five is exceptional, so… I came here for lunch, working downtown this Saturday, and found this on Unilocal.Nice area of town, the lunch menu was large but everything was a sandwich… I didn’t see chicken wings, which I was not in the mood for anyway, but I thought that was a staple of every sports bar. It is clean but very limited on parking. They have a nice outside seating area that is shaded, saw some people out there but June is too hot for that. The prices are a little higher than average but not by much. I had a burger, can’t remember what it was called they have twenty of them that are different variations of the same thing, it wasn’t too bad, tasty in fact with bacon and cheese, anything with bacon is usually a winner. Service was polite and prompt at the bar, can’t speak for the tables. It’s walking distance to the Capital Building. If you are near and hungry stop, if you miss it you aren’t missing too much. Not disappointing, not spectacular.

If I could leave no stars, I would. I took my lady here to enjoy a nice evening and this was by far the worst chicken wings I’ve tasted in my entire life. And my lady felt the same way. We were served undercooked chicken, I really shouldn’t have payed for it. We just ate our fries and we left the uneaten chicken. If you like to taste your food when you eat out then DON’T come here.

Have been to Andrews a couple of times when it was not busy and service was good. On 4⁄23 my wife and I went at around 3:30pm it was moderately busy and we sat outside. There were 4 waitress serving and cleaning tables and what looked like a supervisor. In 45 minutes not one of them offered to take our order or even looked at us so I could get ones attention. At 4:20 we left never being acknowledged !

Great bunch spot with an upscale casual ambiance. Menu has a wide variety of different foods which made it extremely difficult to choose from. Had the chicken and waffles and was satisfied. I was not overly impressed with it, but definitely an overall good meal. The fried chicken was more crispy than preferred, would’ve liked it to have a more buttermilk battered coating, the waffle was light and fluffy, and the hash browns were over the top due to the crispy onions that added a great flavor. All in all I enjoyed my meal here very much and can’t wait to go back and try something else from the menu.

Great place for lunch! I had the Haight and Ashbury sandwich, really tasty. Perfect amount of smokiness and great combination of condiments and bacon. Good selection of beers on tap along with friendly wait staff. Worth a shot if you are looking for good food and atmosphere.

I’ve had two experiences with Andrew’s. The first was a catered lunch. Multiple people got sick. Just ate lunch at the restaurant and am sick again. The food is OK but not worth the time in the bathroom.

They catered our wedding. Best food and portions we could imagine. They were quick to respond, gave us options and were comparable in price to other catering services. On our wedding day they were great and our guests were impressed with the food portions, size, presentation and delighted with the flavor.

I got to try items off there catering menu at a private event and was very impressed! The food was epic. I enjoyed stuffed qaule legs. Duck wings crispy and dripping In a tangy sauce. The prime rib was cooked to perfection. There was a amazing shell fish bar. Everything was very fresh and delish! I would gladly consider them for my next event. The service was professional and charming. Good show Andrews and bravo!

Had the pesto chicken sandwich with fries. One of the best chicken sandwiches I can remember. Service was quick at noon. Friendly and attentive.

Good food with lots of choices. I opted for their mini buffet and it was ‘okay’. I should’ve ordered one of the sandwiches or burgers which I’ve had on two other occasions. Great waiter with a great attitude.

We went to Andrews for a wedding rehearsal dinner. The vibe in the restaurant was romantic. The food was good. I had the spare ribs(super tender) with Yukon potatoes and asparagus. I would go back again.

Dined solo 28OCT15. Okay falafel burger, better with more aioli, better still with homemade harissa or tzatziki. Fries were decent. The sandwich plate was kind of pricey but it’s the capital, everything is more expensive close to the flagpole. Still… Local craft pour(proof 85 – 0 pale ale, the area code I guess) was quite good. Happy hour an extra good deal. Service was quite prompt & cheerful, thanks Hallie G.

I have to say that I am VERY impressed with Andrews! Our party of 20 was immediately seated on their patio and the whole time we had at least 4 waitresses constantly checking on us. They were very attentive and organized with our group and the food came out in a timely manner. I ordered the Santa Fe wrap with fries… delicious! And the ice tea was yummy as well. This was a wonderful first time experience and I will be going back.

The food was good and the service was great, but the prices were a little high for what you get. I’m also not a fan of TVs in restaurants, but you take what you can get. I liked their selection of microbrews. I’m not a beer fan, per se, but I appreciate a well-crafted brew. I tried the Oyster City brown ale from Apalachicola for 7 bucks, and it was well worth it. I went with the Pittsburgh Pastrami sandwich. You can get the fries on the side rather than on the sandwich. I’m not from Pittsburgh, so I like my fries on the side, thank you. Like I wrote earlier, nothing wrong with the food, but nothing was spectacular either. It was simply a good, solid pastrami sandwich. The portion size filled me up and then some. My wife had the Greek salad. She liked it, picked all the«good stuff» out and still had a mound of lettuce on her plate when she was done. I was impressed with our servers. Both seemed well informed about their menu and options, and I had a delightful conversation about beer with one of them. The food came out quickly and everything was correct and at the right temperature. I suspect if Andrews was closer to FSU or FAMU than the capital the pricing would be more reasonable, say about 20% lower. Still, a good place to eat in Tallahassee.

Came here for lunch. Sat at the bar. Service was good like any other bar. The food I ordered was def unacceptable. Ordered the Pittsburgh pastrami. It was cooked till it was burnt. Couldnt chew the food. Guessing you can have different experiences depending on whos cooking. They did have kona big wave on tap. Reason for 2 stars not 1 star. If I burnt something I prob wouldn’t serve it or at least recook it if I had the supplies…

Monday evening celebrating our anniversary. I entered Andy’s place about 10 minutes before our 6:00 reservation time. You would have thought that I committed a faux Paz! The hostess just said have a seat while we get your table ready. Another couple entered having parked themselves in a valet parking space because they could not find the valet. They wanted to know if their car would be Ok. Hostess had a deer in the headlights look. Another two couples arrived. Some person said that it was at the chef’s request that people are not seated before 6. I could have been sipping some wine– which was MY internet. But, let’s not mess with the chef. It used to be you could come to Andrews Second Act and Andy would be walking around. This would have been a good night for that. I overheard one couple say that they were there for their wedding 28 years ago and had been coming back every year since. Come to think of it, so did we! After having to wait, then everyone herded downstairs at once, we were ready for our dining experience to begin. I passed on the appetizers and ordered wine that I wanted to savor. I will say, the plates are beautifully presented. Hubby ordered the pork chop with potatoes and asparagus. The pork chop was easily 1.5 inches thick and lightly dusted and pan sautéed. It has a nice little crunch and wonderful flavor. His asparagus was tender and grilled just right. I ordered the salmon filet with I am not sure of the sauce. What I thought were crispy shallots or onions on the top were probably mushrooms. It came with a side of collard greens and risotto. Now, from the Café on 5th avenue in Crystal River, I had something to compare this risotto to. Sorry Andy, but while waiting, the chef should have kept stirring his risotto. It was lumpy, dry and undercooked. The generous sauce on the salmon did nothing for it. I know collard greens and these had a tad too much vinegar Pepper sauce and they were tough. Depending on the age of the green, sometimes you can get away with a mild sauté. Not this time. We passed on deserts even though I’m sure they were awesome. Now, I was there on a buy one entrée get one free. If it had not been for that, the place would have been overpriced. Again, I am judging on a similar upscale restaurant I was at two days before in another city. It would create more good will if Andy Reese were to come around and say hello to the patrons that remember his old place and that come to relive special moments. Train your hostess to smile and greet customers warmly. My waitress was wonderful but not all looked happy to be serving customers. The restaurant was not that busy that you can’t make a big deal our of a repeat customer of 28 years. I too was that customer — I just didn’t announce it.

Meh. This place is only good for wanting to be seen and for having mediocre, overpriced food. Today I went to lunch and had the most clueless server imaginable taking care of me. I had to repeat my order to him at least three times and point it out to him on the menu and guess what? It was still wrong when it came out. The service was just really poor and honestly probably one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had. I asked for the Cris a Fill You up burger with a turkey patty, add bacon and onions and the burger came without onions. It also came with a bun which I requested to leave off so I basically just wasted food for no reason. Not only was the order wrong, but it took FOREVER to get our check taken away. We were a little peeved since we were sitting outside and it started to rain and our server disappeared. We had to actually go inside and find him to pay the bill. What kind of server willingly leaves their table clueless and alone while there is thunder and lightning outside? Plus none of his coworkers could find him so we could pay our bill. I would pretty much never recommend this place to anybody. Food is okay but too expensive. The only reason Andrew’s gets two stars is for its location.

I found Andrew’s to be a pleasant surprise. A recent work trip included a block party on Adams St right in front of Andrew’s. For whatever reason, despite all of the people nearby, they had a bunch of open tables so my boss and I stopped to get dinner. The menu was huge with lots of different options. We started off with the dip trip(queso, salsa, and their spinach and cheese dip with tortilla chips). I liked all three dips(the queso was easily my favorite but the others were good, too) and the serving size wasn’t crazy. I went with the Santa Fe Chicken salad. I got the smaller size, figuring that with an appetizer it would be plenty. When it came out I was kind of surprised because it looked so tiny(it was around $ 10) but it ended up being plenty of food. It had a ton of stuff on it(beans, cheese, tomatoes, onions, corn, tortilla strips, chicken, etc) and came with a ranch-y dressing and guacamole. I found it to be very filling and the perfect size for a hearty dinner. Our server was very attentive and friendly. When my boss was torn between a salad with salmon and one with tuna, she let her know that the salmon is farm raised and the tuna is sushi grade(not a shocker, she went with the sushi). When we first walked in and the restaurant was half empty despite all of the people outside I was a little concerned but the experience ended up being a nice one.

The food was good and everything was pretty equal in price. Our server Sam was very friendly. I had the Chinese chicken wrap and my friend had the lunch buffet. Seems like a good place to try again.

Typical grill fare with happy hour 4−7pm which includes drinks and $ 2 off appetizers. High on prices but good service. Not my favorite selection of draft beers but they have a full bar. With the nice weather, the outdoor seating is great(as long as you are not seated downwind of smokers).
