I’ve noticed the customer service isn’t the best but it’s still convenient and they carry a lot of different things. I go in there when I just can’t handle going to wal mart. The prices are usually better than wal mart anyway. Plus Talladega wal mart isn’t known for customer service either!

This general dollar is a joke, accidentally knocked over some lighters, picked them up because it was my fault and i was accused of stealing one i’m thinking i should have let them stay on the floor. I’ve been in this general dollar before and witness them accusing someone else of stealing. This general dollar has some of the rudest employee’s in any store avoid this store and go to the other general dollar near piggly wiggly.

I went in to buy some aaa batteries. They were marked $ 3.50 on top of the display box. I picked up 2 packs. The lady rang them up and said, «8.40.» The tax rate is ten percent so I asked how much she charged me. She said 3.75 ea. I pointed out the $ 3.50 sign on top — very close to eye level and she pointed to a sign saying 3.75 about a foot off the ground. She said she needed to call Rodney. He comes out from the back and looks like he just finished high school. He takes a look at both signs and tells her in my presence, «this is the OLD price(3.50) and this(3.75) is the new one.» Her contribution was, «well, we need to cover that one up»(the much more prominent lower price). They then expected me to pay the higher price so I said, «I’ll tell you what let me just leave since you don’t honor the price marked.» And I walked out. Whatever happened to the customer always being right? I do not want special treatment but I expect to pay the price marked. Not sure if this is an intentional ripoff or whether they are just incompetent. But beware…
