This is a good place for kids, meaning there are a lot of kids and no one seems to mind if they are loud and messy and running around. I feel comfortable bringing my kids here, and that’s saying a lot. Note that because it is so popular with kids they may be out of kid stuff like high chairs and juice boxes. I like the pizza, my daughter Loves it. She plows through an adult cheese in about 10 minutes. My husband and I split one, which takes the sting out of paying $ 17 for a medium pizza. I appreciate that they are generous with garlic — the topping selection is good imo. Be warned it gets crowded on Friday nights but that doesn’t mean there will be a long wait for food — I have found it to be pretty quick. I wish the wine selection was better — I’ve tried several and haven’t found one yet that I like drinking.

Amazing and authentic Neopolitan style pizza combined with great service and ambiance. A total gem for the Takoma Park community. Not the cheapest place but good quality costs more.

Ahhh…Pizza! When its done right, comforting, delicious and satisfying! It must be stated that absolutely fabulous examples are found here. Craving meat, its The Antica, Feeling Vegetarian, grab the The Fungi or Margherita All are Superb! Also, Don’t sleep on the Insalata Arugula or the Deviled eggs with root slaw, both are exemplary accompaniments. Fight the urge to drive by, you’ll thank me later.

Nice casual place with a comfortable vibe. The wood fired pizza is great and very reasonably priced. Good place to go with kids early in the evening. I have had practically everything on the menu and it is hard to go wrong. Often have tasty appetizers that are seasonal specialities and their beet salad is one of my favorites.

A friend of mine picked Roscoe’s for an early lunch on a Saturday and boy did she hit the mark! Both the lunch menu and brunch were available so we decided for brunch. Between 5 of us, we shared each other’s plates — everything was delicious. The poached egg pizza, extremely surprising, fantastic texture, perfectly cooked, simply delicious. I had the prosciutto frittata — topped with the most delicious, perfectly-seasoned home made potatoes. I also tried the beet salad, deviled eggs and part of a sandwich. Everything was flavorful, spot on — foodie lover level. I also enjoyed their spicy Bloody Mary. I can truly say it was one of the best ones I’ve had. Our experience was great, definitely going back. The reason for 4 stars. We had a misunderstanding with splitting the check at the end, but it got sorted out. That was also on us since we didn’t ask the waitress to separate the checks before we ordered the food.

The customer service was good and the staff were friendly. However the pizza was not very pizza didn’t really have no tomato sauce or cheese on it. The toppings were just… there…I’ve had tomato soup that taste more like a pizza.

Great drinks, good food, nice variety, little overpriced, but nice atmosphere. Staff are efficient and friendly, and it’s a great place to sit outside and share meals with friends. I’ll definitely be back.

One of the best brick oven pizzas I’ve had. This place is very nice inside with local artists work on display. The quality of the ingredients is what gets me. From having the flour being imported from Italy and the buffalo mozzarella from the hills of mt vesuvius this place is the most authentic neapolitan pizza place you will find locally. Love it will be back regularly!

I love the Neapolitan pizzas and half price wine on Tuesdays. The salads are large and fresh and make a great accompaniment to the pizza. I haven’t come here for brunch yet but I hear good things from my vegetarian friends so I’m assuming there are lots of veggie options.

This is more of a long thank you than a review, but Roscoe’s has always been there for me and my husband in special moments of our lives! The first time we went there was on our very first date in November of 2009. I will always remember the friendly service and how delicious their brick oven pizza was(we got the Antica pizza). The warm and welcoming atmosphere made it feel like family to us. As the years passed we would come back to celebrate our anniversary, or even just to hang out with friends and out of towners as a last stop on our sight seeing adventures. Earlier this year, I proposed to my now husband, and we decided to celebrate our wedding where it all began! The staff told us they have never closed the whole restaurant for such an event, but they were all more than excited to work with us to make our day special. And let me tell you, I could not have thought of a better way to celebrate our marriage. The food was excellent(we had the yummy Antica pizza again to commemorate our first date) and the beer and wine selections were exquisite! Roscoe’s made it feel like we were celebrating with family, ALL our family! Thank you from Patrick and Charlie… We will always come back to Roscoe’s!

Roscoe’s seems to be hit or miss. I love the atmosphere of the place — it’s a relaxed, friendly, neighborhood kind of joint. Some of their pizzas I love(like the prosciutto arugula or the Antica), while others are just pretty alright(like the Cafone). The meatball panini is also excellent — high-quality, simple ingredients, well put together, and very tasty. But other parts of the menu aren’t so good. I ordered an espresso the last time I went there, and it was terrible. There was no crema at all — in fact, it tasted like someone had brewed some Folgers and poured a small amount into an espresso cup. Similarly, some of the starters leave something to be desired, such as the roasted marinated olives, which at $ 6.5 are way overpriced for both the amount and quality of the dish.

Roscoes is small and always busy but somehow there never seems to be a wait which is awesome(no thanks to the parents and teenager camped out playing Uno after their meal. This is a restaurant not a community center!). Generally speaking, the appetizers are fine but not exciting. You’re not missing anything if you skip them. The pizzas are the stars of the show. I still love the quattro formaggi with its cheesy goodness. If you see the campagna pizza on the specials, get it! The local Italian sausage and goat cheese combo manages to be light and decadent at once. I savored every bite!

This place is absolutely wonderful. The food was fresh and tasted amazing(I had the beet salad, meatball marinara) it all tasted superb and was on the table quite quickly. As for the server, Amalia, she was a sweetheart! Very kind and informative, she knew it was my first time there and took the time to explain the menu and give recommendations. Highly recommend this place!

My fiancée and I have recently made our home near Takoma Park, and have made this place our pizza refuge. It offers, first and foremost, delicious, brick-oven pizzas with fresh ingredients. It offers salads that are flawlessly fresh and crisp. It offers outdoor seating on the«main street» of Takoma Park, which is as close to a small-town vibe as I believe one can get, that close to D.C.

I know this is a local place in Takoma which does not have a whole logic eating options and granted very family friendly with outdoor space which has all the necessary ingredients for at least a 4 star but the food has been so low quality of late. My pizza was so soggy and wet it looked and tastes bad. The cheese on it looked cold and as if someone spit it on there. Our waiter was superb in ensuring pleasant – but both the environment and food need help. If pizza in a pizzeria sucks then the place sucks.

They have a patio right on the sidewalk, which is great for getting some mid-day sun and people watching. Service was very friendly and attentive, even though at the time we were the only ones seated on the patio. Their menu has a lot of different Italian specialties, but we came in mainly to try the gluten free pizza. We loved the Siciliana pizza, generously topped with roasted eggplant and smoked mozzarella, and with a gluten free crust that was soft, chewy, not dry, and had as good of a flavor as I have had from any other gluten free pizza. They specialize in authentic certified Neapolitan pizza, which I have heard is excellent, but unfortunately couldn’t try. Their wines by the glass are also reasonably priced, and make up a good selection to go with the pizza. With all of their fresh ingredients, relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and a gluten free crust that’s tasty, I’ll definitely be back.

I couldn’t decide between the cafone pizza and the funghi so the nice waitress let me add sausage to my funghi pizza. Pizza looked really good but the mushroom lacked a little flavor. I expected a little more bc the last wild mushroom pizza I had was so good. Maybe if it was shitake mushroom it would have been better. I ate my clam chowder first, which was good on a rainy day, so by the time I got to the pizza the crust was a little soggy. I would have liked my crust more crispy. Next time maybe I’ll give the Cafone a try and ask them to bake a little bit over for me. Nice little spot in Takoma park area.

We are new to the area and finally got around to trying Roscoe’s last night. It was not bad, but was disappointing. The pizza we got fed the two of us just fine, but wasn’t very substantial and was a bit of a letdown compared to the description. The«heirloom tomatoes» were just halved grape tomatoes… perhaps they were heirloom grape tomatoes, but I think it’s safe to say that the expectation for a margherita pizza is those big rounds of tomato, offsetting the circles of mozzarella. The arugula salad was very good, however. I guess for $ 24 of pizza and salad take-out, I expect to be either really wowed by the quality, really full after finishing, or have some leftovers for the next day, and none of those ended up being the case.

Been coming here for years now and there are times it is a bit hit or miss. Today was a ok day for food here. The bean soup has changed again, and not really for the better. It was thinner and had far less flavor than it did in the past. My pizza was ok, but I forgot to tell Izzy to have them burn it up, so it came out looking a bit pale and the crust did go limp quickly. I had a brunch pizza which had a fantastic flavor and came with a few eggs on top, very yummy, but again I’d like the crust to be a bit crisper so when I pick up my slice, the ingredients stay in place. We can usually get a decent drink here and I think Izzy is a great addition to the bar there. She is attentive, professional, and makes a good drink. One thing I’m getting a little disappointed with is that the décor is starting to look a little tired. Get out a duster and clean those lamp shades off! Also while we were there a tile popped off the bar and fell to the ground! Then when I took a closer look, I noticed several missing tiles, and that’s when I saw the dusty shades, and noticed the fruit flies buzzing around the bar. Come on guys! This place was once a crown jewel in the Takoma crown! Pick up your game, or you’re going to be replaced!
