Mikey, you were the only man I’ve trust, and you left me. Who is going to do my nails now? So sad you guys closed (

Pros: Cheap, good customer service, honesty about wait times, good ventilation, well done manicures, gels & pedis if you work with Mikey or Snow, television in the shop is tuned to news or popular programming.
Cons: Not a high end shop, décor is dated, not an endless range of colors & due to price points don’t offer brand name polish, small shop, can’t recommend other staff.
If you’re looking for a very affordable, quick & decent manicure, and understand the maxim you get what you pay for, this is the place to go. If you go in with high expectations for a dirt cheap mani in a mini-​mart, that’s on you.
A lot of cheap nail places in this area are really unpleasant experiences due to a number of factors — dishonesty about wait times, loudness of staff or clientele or TVs, the environment, & poor nail service. So I had stopped getting my nails done in my neighborhood despite the convenience of doing so. I had visited this place a few times when it first opened up and wasn’t impressed with the service or the manicure, but thought the interior was a small step above the other 2 nail joints near the intersection of NH Ave & 404.
Last fall I tried the place again, and have been a regular visitor since. I have had much better gel manicures here than at shops in DC (Color Nails, Revo, Solar). Mikey is a really excellent manicurist –and does nail art, and gels. Snow is good with nails and also very attentive with pedicures. Both provide incredible customer service, especially given the price point of the shop. My gels with them last for 2 — 2.5 weeks. They also accommodate my requests — if I don’t want my nails soaked, or cuticles trimmed, etc. If you enjoy conversation, then you may also be a fan of this shop. I really appreciate their work and service and think their quality is worth more than what the shop is charging.
I can’t recommend the other staff that I’ve tried there. If you prefer Opi or brand name polish, you shouldn’t come here or you should bring your own polish.

Very small, not much of a selection of colors. I didn’t stay to actually get my nails done. I walked in, looked around, and left.
A friend of mine likes them. If you just want a basic full set or manicure, it may be okay. Didn’t see any gel nail polish either.
