I honestly have no idea what these other people are saying. Ned(the business owner) is incredibly hands on and as soon as I called they addressed the problem, went out to the home to help me and did incredible work. They were up front and honest about pricing and especially what they did do and what type of services(like the contract work fixing the water damage after) that they don’t do. I almost never write reviews and I had to say what an incredibly job they did in a time of absolute panic for my family.

Such a bad experience. I had a burst pipe last August. The damage was walls, mold, cabnets and a hardwood floor. Tahoe Mold and Water initially appeared to be doing a good job. It was supposed to be completed by Thanksgiving. Not done. Christmas, not done. Spring Break, not done. The work is not great and I lost an entire season. I have to just live with it now or get into some legal snafu. And on top of everything, I am getting attitude from the company. Just find someone else. And as to their reply… I don’t know who Edward R is. It is just not the way things went. The insurance claim covered the cost of a new floor and my contact at Tahoe Mold and Water assured me that the floor would look like new. End of story. I had no contact with the contractor. Going in, I was not told that gaps that existed would remain and the floor would not look perfect. I count on professionals to advise me as to the best way to proceed, as I do in my business. The other things were not extras as I paid for them. This response is just the kind of «this is your fault» attitude that I got from Tahoe Mold and Water. There are just better options.

My wife and I bought a vacation home in South Lake Tahoe and while doing some renovations found mold underneath the laminate hardwood floors that we pulled up. I contacted a few companies and received quotes from both Tahoe Mold and Water and a national chain based in Sacramento. Tahoe Mold and Water came in with a reasonable quote that was nearly half the price of the national chain. I found Ned Riley to be professional and punctual when I first reached out and he was very consultative in coming up with a mold remediation plan. After doing some research we knew we were in for an decent expense in taking care of the mold and we felt Ned did his best to accommodate our budget and keep the expense low. His team did a great job removing the mold and our house is now safe and healthy. I would recommend his services to those that are both residents of the Tahoe area and those that have a second home in the Lake Tahoe area who are looking for a trustworthy mold remediation company.

No question about it … These guys are great! In September 2011, my wife and I crossed our fingers and bought a house in Tahoe Donner with a known mold problem. It was a short sale so we had the responsibility to organize and pay for all of the remediation work ourselves. The Tahoe Mold and Water guys put together a sound mold remediation plan for us and we gave them the green light to start the work. Before making the decision to go forward with this house purchase, I spent quite a bit of time researching mold remediation procedures on my own in order to try to keep an eye on the work. I was happy to find that Tahoe Mold and Water completed all of their work professionally, by the book, and at a reasonable price. As a result, they receive my highest vote of confidence. Tahoe Mold and Water has a great work crew with enough experience and expertise to deal with anything that comes their way. They are knowledgeable, honest, and conscientious, with high-quality work standards. Mold remediation is scary enough on its own without having to worry about the contractor who is doing the work. My wife and I sleep soundly at night knowing that Tahoe Mold and Water did an excellent job to not only clear our new house from mold, but to re-work our attic venting system so that it won’t ever come back.

Beware. «Mold scam artists» says it all. Tahoe Mold inspected my Lake Tahoe home in the context of a home sale. I believe that they made a dishonest recommendation for unnecessary work in the hopes of getting a lot of money from the seller(me). They performed a visual inspection of the house and also took two indoor air samples. According to their written report they saw no visible signs of a mold problem. They then submitted a proposal to essentially gut the entire interior of the house — take up the carpets, tear out the vinyl flooring, remove much of the sheetrock, and sand the exposed wood. Their report cited no mold or moisture problem on the walls, carpet, or floor. Their justification for this extensive work was based on nothing more than — two air samples! Their«remediation» cost was in the tens of thousands of dollars. This frightened the buyers and the sale fell through. Tahoe Mold’s report claims that«air sample testing is the most effective method for determining whether a mold infestation» exists. This is dishonest nonsense. A little internet research readily shows that a couple of air samples alone cannot identify a mold problem or prescribe remediation. I recommend the site for an excellent description of the«mold is gold» industry and the many limitations of air sampling. I had another inspection by Indoor Restore Environmental Services. They also found no visible signs of any mold problem, and their three air samples showed that mold spore counts indoors were consistent with the outdoors. The Indoor Restore inspector was incredulous when I described the recommendation of Tahoe Mold. Setting aside thoughts of legal action to collect damages for the lost sale, I decided that warning others to avoid Tahoe Mold would be sufficient.
