Best store and friendliest staff in all of Tahoe, hands down!

I just wanted to say how impressed I always am with your store. You truly do a great job. Your employees are always super friendly and accommodating, which says so much about your supervising and training. You are always well staffed and ready for the busy seasons. I love that when you’re checking out and the lines begin to grow, you always open up another one immediately. Thank you for the consistent customer service!

If you are an out of towner(vacationer) and you use their self service checkout, they will watch you to make sure you don’t steal anything. Doesn’t matter whether you are dressed clean cut. It’s not subtle watching either. Hands crossed and within a few feet of you watching intensely. I felt like on parole.

The name is Savemart, don’t expect a trader joes or a whole foods, it was your typical low budge supermarket, but because it was tahoe was a bit pricier than it should have been. Love the location, super close to our cabin.

Food, selection and prices were good but I was very disappointed when I had to bag my own groceries and was not offered assistance out. Even a «have a good night» would’ve been nice. After spending $ 250+ and with 3 young kids with me I would’ve hoped for a little more courtesy.

Clean store, public restroom in the back if you need it, cheap cigarettes(like under $ 6 a pack, cheap), and a decent selection of most meal-makers. Wish they had more organically grown veggies, but New Moon in Truckee has a slightly better selection. However, the produce here is good and keeps longer than the stuff I buy at Safeway. We go to Reno box stores and Whole Foods to avoid the average 40% markup on groceries in N Lake, but when you need a quick fill-in between trips to Reno, this is the place. The Savemart card applies discounts toward Shell gas, which is conveniently next door, and the discount helps the gouge at the pump a wee bit.

This convenient little grocery store came in handy for stocking up on supplies for our week long summer vacation in a cozy cabin in Tahoe. It’s nice to have your own well stocked fridge while on a trip. We needed beverages and icy cold beer, easy to cook food, beach snacks and breakfast type stuff for our cabin. They had a great selection and easy to get in and out. The prices are cheap, which is good because everything else in Tahoe is pricy. Save your money for the FUNSTUFF.

Love this store. Good selection, and always have what I need, however their produce is often not fresh. Please get better produce!

ALBERTSON’S ANDSAVE-MARTARETHESAMECOMPANY A survey was done when Save-Mart took over the reamining Albertson’s stores, polling which name was found more attractive to specific communities. The stores kept both names, and they were determined depending on where people liked one name more than the other. I guess Tahoe City preferred the Save-Mart name. This store was clean and well-stocked when we went in for kettle chips and beer. The prices were typical of Bay Area Save-Marts. Glad we weren’t paying extra for the same food, served in the mountains. We didn’t have much on our grocery list so we were in and out in minutes. Our friends bought several scratchers from a self-service lottery machine at the front of the store, which we all played later. Stupid scratchers, only one or two winners out of lots!

Good selection of food and drink; good prices, to boot! Shocked at the amount of liquor sold here, though. Wow! Immense amount of space devoted to wine and hard liquor. Seriously, it was impressive. Most folks inside were either locals looking to stock up or ski bros buying drinks for the evening. Nice cashiers. Easy parking.

A small local supermarket with a half-way decent deli. A good selection of juices, produce, and beer. The wine and liquor section is huge, taking up two complete sides of one large aisle.

Worst service ever have experienced but only by one person. The night woman manager Donna! She was rude and practically pushing us out of the supermarket because we entered the store at 10:56 and did our shopping. Like many we had arrived up from the Bay area after a long week and we were excited to to go the old market we had known for 20 years. Donnna +asked if we needed any help finding anything because” we are closed and the door is closed. She gave us the nasty eye and stalked us causing us to rush just to get out of there and away from her negative energy. I am writng a letter to corporate about this woman because she was by far the worst horror of a service manager I have ever met. I guess customers just don’t matter anymore. Well We all know they do which is why we are Unilocalers. My voite is shop in Truckee and bring it in or bring all your food up from somewhere else. I am overly compelled to write a review, as I have the receipt, and therefore the memory, staring me in my face. They have food… we got supplies for a wonderfully lake-side weekend full of goodness and tomfoolery. The food we bought was properly priced, and the employees were quite fine. I don’t know what to say… i wouldn’t hesitate to buy from here again, and may do so in a couple weeks. They do a fine job. Hooray. I am not quite sure about why I write this review, and I am compelled to question my contributions to Unilocal,in a profoundly and deeply philosophical way.

Wow no recent reviews. We go here a lot when staying in Tahoe Donner. We purposely avoid Safeway in favor of Save Mart since the staff is light years more pleasant than Safeway. We got sandwiches in the deli and they were great and they have nice selection of everything we need.

Good location… easy in and easy out. Pretty much got it all, it’s where we go when in town. Hey, they even have boysenberry syrup!

Not bad. This store is big enough to have most anything you’d want within reason, but not too big you waste time trying to find it. No price gouging, and employees are friendly. Then again, it’s the beginning of the season. Don’t know if this will all be true come late February.

This is my go-to grocery store when vacationing in Tahoe City. Employees are nice, sometimes looking bored with their jobs, but prices are fairly reasonable.

damn, you go in here at 6pm and this place is swarming with the young i’m-from-brazil/australia/new zealand/insert-southern-hemisphere-country-here resort workers skiing their summers away just off of work and getting ready to start a night of boozing and grinding. i walked in here on a friday night and i thought i mistakenly walked into the lodge at alpine meadow or something. save mart is clean and well-stocked and has everything you need for a weekend at the cabins. deli prices are a bit high(and the prosciutto they have is overcured, dried and salty), but oh well.

Stopped in here this evening after eating dinner at Granlibakken to get some beverages for the fridge in my room. Picked up a six pack of mini bottles of orange Gatorade, a six pack of bottled water, a six pack of Steelhead Pale Ale, a bottle of low sodium V-8 juice, a bottle of shampoo and some moisturizing lotion. The idea is to stay hydrated, we are at 6,400 feet above sea level, and it’s cold and very dry. Cool little Supermarket!

Errr. this may have been an Albertsons in the past, but it’s now a Save Mart Supermarket. That’s the sign you’ll see from the road, though you probably won’t mistake this establishment for anything but a supermarket. It fits the stereotypical architectural design… Low flat building with a large parking lot surrounding it… lots of neon and bright colored lights… Yup, it’s a Supermarket alright! They have a Starbucks inside, which is nice if you’re a Bay Area coffee junky who simply can’t do without your daily venti caffeine concoction so jacked up on calories that it’s worth a couple of meals… Bah! Fuck it, it’s got caffeine and it’s sweet, so it’s good, right? I also picked up some Nyquil here, seeing as I’ve been coughing up a lung for the last week… I’m right now on my fourth shot and I’m starting to hallucinate, but still I cough… Of course, it probably didn’t help that I tried skiing today… I was spitting blood on the chairlift, which the people around me certainly didn’t appreciate…
