Dropped by KAWI for a coffee, ordered a latte and seated myself in their lounge. The service was friendly and down-to-earth; the coffee was surprisingly smooth and flavorful; the café lounge was comfortable, cool, and quiet. Sharing the space is a Cherokee art gallery, den, and a tiny«spa». I usually stop by Drip to get coffee(a total coffee connoisseur place, and I appreciate the art and skill of a good cup), but even for a city person such as myself, it can be a little stiff and«overdone». KAWI is unpretentious, friendly, quiet. They also serve food — the counter goods(muffin, doritos) were dry and unimaginative, but the menu looks good.
