My bridesmaids went in separately to get fitted for the dresses we chose, we trusted the seamstress and signed for her measurements. When they went back to try on their dresses, the measurements were all completely wrong. The dresses were so incredibly small, fitted with their bust size as the largest measurement. They were all told they would have to pay to have them altered again. After the order and first alteration taking 8 weeks, we only had 2 weeks left until the wedding and there was no extra fabric left to take them out. My fiancé and I went in to talk about the situation, the girls who run the counter are very nice, but initially tried to get us to pay for the alterations needed for their mistake. After getting the owner on the phone many times, she finally agreed to cover the cost to take out the dresses as much as possible, although, none of them fit nicely, we had no choice we were running out of time. The owner was so incredibly rude to us, we couldn’t believe it! We thanked them and stayed polite, although firm, the entire time. We expressed our gratitude for their efforts in fixing their mistake, but the owner remained cold and rude. Ironic as it was, there was another girl and her mother there with the exact same problem. They stormed out, telling us they were going to another place to get the dresses altered. My fiancé and his groomsmen went in to get their measurements. Afterward I asked him what he chose and how it went. They didn’t get an option to pick anything, whoever they worked with chose their tuxes, shoes, and accessories. I couldn’t believe it! They charged us for the whole ensemble, even though we didn’t get everything(we didn’t want their jackets or shoes). We finally got the tuxes two days before the wedding, we had no time to make adjustments. My fiancé’s tux jacket didn’t fit his arms, and all the guys’ pants were too long. Thankfully, the owner, being snotty to us this time, knocked off the price difference since we didn’t use their jackets and shoes. Again, I will never refer this place out to any brides I work with. Never.

I came here early while meeting a group of friends and was told I had to wait to see dresses until said friends arrived. Then, when they did, we were told appointments are required to see any bridesmaid dresses, despite the fact their website says nothing about this. Only pageant & formal gowns are in the front of the store. Bridesmaid dresses are squirreled away in the back and you can only see them with an appointment or if the lone salesperson isn’t busy with an appointment. Tres chic? Je crois que non. Skip.

The seamstress work done on my Maggie Sottero Ballgown was absolutely perfect! The ladies work really well to ensure it fits to perfection! We were able to easily setup an appt to have the dress taken in, they gave us a date for try on and pickup, and we received it without anything needed to be done with such high quality for a good value. It was exactly what I had hoped for and it fit the best on my special day! I highly recommend using Tres Chic for your seamstress needs!

This is a double review for both The Wedding Bell(Bridal Boutique) and Tres Chic; My wedding was in July 2012 and I started the quest of searching for the perfect dress and bridesmaid dresses in Summer 2011. I fell in love with Maggie Sotero and Sotero & Midgley, a designer prominently listed in all the Bridal magz on the shelves these days. After looking at the designer’s website I was impressed to find a local outlet within my commute and one that seemed to offer a unique experience other than the David Bridal’s out there. I booked a private appointment that allowed an after hours session where the store was closed and I could bring in my entire entourage(more than 3), they were comfortably served sparkling cider and had sweet treats even for our youngest guests. As a plus size bride, I was concerned that the selection would be minimum, but I was proved wrong as I was able to try on about 10 different dresses in all shapes/sizes. The final selection was my fave and I was surprised to learn it was a Sottero & Midgley design. It was well within our budget set and fit like a glove. It was very flattering. We all decided this was the dress and it was ordered. After the dress arrived, I went in to try it it on and it was BIGGER than expected. And no I was not like very other bride on a crusade to lose wait so that was not it. The owner was very kind and was able to get a new dress ordered more closer to size as it was a popular dress, and would have cost ed thousands to alter every single angle. Once the revised order and new dress came in, it couldn’t have been more perfect! The girls at Tres Chic performed the alterations and I loved them every step of the way. During this process, I also chose a BM dress through Tres Chic, unfortunately that wasn’t the greatest experience as with BM’s you have all the different personalities to deal with. NOTETOBRIDE, do not let the girls order the dresses on their own, I say this because each of my girls did not order the recommended sizes which proved to be a nightmare and costly with alterations after. The owner Kim once again stepped in to help me and the disaster my girls had caused. She worked long hours to fix the dresses all the way up to the week before the wedding. Overall results, you would not get this kind of service at David Bridal or the chain bridal stores. This boutique is one of a kind. The owner is committed 100% to making this stand out and their attention to detail shows. I’m very happy that I went with this shop, and the dresses despite the issues that did arise, were beautiful! After the wedding we learned our Photographer had a mishap with photo’s and we now have to re-shoot 4 hours of footage(mostly portraits etc). Kim stepped in and helped get the dress cleaned and offered suggestions and pointers with her background in photography. I wish I could give more stars to this shop, no wedding planning is perfect, let me tell you that! But Kim and her girls at the shop made it one of the most memorable and positive experience through this whole process! Thank you!
