The Melon Seed Deli & Frozen Yogurt

Is it the best frozen yogurt I’ve ever had? I haven’t decided… but it sure is a lot of FUN.
We were looking for a place to stop by before a Rainers game and I was delighted to find out we were close to the Melon Seed. I walked in and was looking at the froyo menu when the girl behind the counter asked, «are you looking for the pineapple bowl?» That immediately peaked my interest and her attempt at up-​selling totally got me. :-)
The Bahama Mama is a beautiful presentation of frozen yogurt, on top of a hollowed-​out pineapple, stuffed with the pineapple chunks, strawberries, kiwi, and bursting boba balls. You have your choice of dairy or non-​dairy yogurt options and then you can relax as they prepare your treat.
It came out as a beautiful piece of work and had I not been on a time crunch, could have totally devoured the entire thing on my own. But my friends and I needed to get going so the three of us shared it.
The girl behind the counter (service was great, btw) told me about the Mahalo, the same idea as the Bahama Mama but with a watermelon… which I totally have to come back for. I also hear the sandwiches are yummy. I see lots of visits in the future.

This place is perfect!!! Strawberries hollowed out and stuffed with cheesecake… Need I say more?

The food is fantastic and the price is right. I love that they deliver to us at work! It would be 5 star but they say it will take a half hour and they show up over an hour later almost every time. We have begun planning for that, calling them before they open if they answer the phone at 10:30, that way we might get to eat by noon.
Edit: Because of the wonderful, personal response from the business owner, I’m changing my stars from 3 to 5. I wouldn’t want anyone to be misled about the quality of their awesome food or their awesome employees that are always friendly and smiling :)

Delicious!!! Called in to go, super friendly service. Got the Cesar chicken slider. Nice and warm. Chicken creamy from the sauce. Served with a side of warm toasted tortilla chips & veggies on the side (very fresh). Also checked in for a free froyo; strawberry & vanilla swirl with chunks of ACTUAL cheesecake.

I absolutely love the tuna salad. It was done well. The frozen yogurt in a pineapple was satisfying but I must admit its just for the looks. I would most definitely go here again for their sandwich and salads. The froyo I can hold back.

Do not come here. Ordered the Greek Salad and Bahama Mama. The Bahama Mama was fine except for the fact we waited about 40 minutes for it and my salad as well. They weren’t extremely busy either. They need to hire more help because the employees couldn’t keep up with the demand (which like I said wasn’t even that much)
Don’t get me started on the salad! It tastes amazing and all but… Me and the person who shared it got sick and threw it all up the same day.
This place has aesthetically pleasing food/​yogurt but it wasn’t worth the wait or the sickness. Don’t waste your time here.

I can’t even describe how amazing this place is!!! You must eat here. Yogurt is an incredible mix of fresh flavored and the sliders are so delicious. Best food I’ve had in months!!!

This place is a hidden gem, tucked away off the highway in Tacoma. On the way to Portland we needed gas and made a stop here originally for lunch. They were closed, so we came back after for desert!
The staff are super great and really go out of their way to make sure you have a good experience. The prices are amazing also!
As some other reviewers have mentioned, it is crazy hot inside. I’m not sure why.
The frozen yogurt was delicious and you get unlimited toppings. They actually cut up a real cheesecake as one of the toppings! Worth a Pitt stop if you are in the area!

The best froyo I’ve had! I got the Bahama mama with strawberry and country vanilla froyo… OMG when I saw it, I thought I should’ve gotten one for my sister and I to share… once our orders came up we realized it’s a good thing we got our own! The froyo comes in a pineapple with strawberry, kiwi and boba around the bottom, and sliced pineapple at the very bottom… HEAVEN!
Their customer service is also amazing. The cashier was so friendly and helpful! The only downside was the location, it’s just a weird location but the building itself is super cute inside =) this place is a must!

So good and priced just right. I had originally thought this was primarily a frozen yogurt place but its the sliders that are the main draw.
Great tasting and well presented food that doesn’t hurt your wallet.

Went here for lunch with my mom and we were not disappointed.
Seems like a little hole in the wall but its cute inside. I got the savory salmon and it was sooo good. Salmon wasn’t dry, and they used so many seasonings that perfectly complimented it. My only complaint is that the bread was almost too toasted, it cut up my mouth a bit. But it wasn’t really that bad. Still delicious.
They also have froyo, and I got the mango raspberry. Also amazing. I was in a food coma when I left.
While we were there we saw some girls get froyo served n half a pineapple, so that’s on my list of things to try next time I go there. Because I will definitely be there again.

Talk about a hole in the wall. In the smallest little plaza on a light traffic street, one short turn and youre parking next to this random frozen yogurt store. But not so random that my tastebuds reject the outskirt adventure into what is now my favorite dessert joint. This little store has silently inhabited our community and oy vey… your flavors of the day in a watermelon or pineapple bowl will will certainly leave you froyozified.

I’ve only ordered delivery from this place, but oh man is it delicious. Like, really really delicious. I’ve tried a few of their sandwiches so far, and they are all super filling and super scrumptious. The spicy tuna sandwich is probably my favorite (if you like tuna and spicy, you’ll love it) but I’ve tried the pastrami and the salmon sandwiches as well and they were all very good. We also ordered the cheesecake and the strawberry shortcake with frozen yogurt for lunch as well, and everything is so good! Delivery to our office does take awhile though, so we learned to order an hour and a half before we actually want it delivered. It was annoying the first time we learned this, but honestly the sandwich was so damn good we didn’t mind it being late, and have continued to order from them since. Great sandwich shop, check this place out!

Tried the Cubano sliders. They offered to make it spicy and I said yes. This means they add Sriracha and jalapeños. So good! The bread was just right, the pork was smokey, and there was just the right amount of each topping.
The staff were all really nice too. And I didn’t have to wait long for my to-​go order. Can’t wait to come back!

I really enjoyed this place. My first thought was that the sandwiches were a little pricey based on the menu, but when you get the sandwiches you get 2 and they are pretty good sized. The flavor was solid. The chips were a little lack luster but the experience was good.
The day we went they had something strange happen where the delivery truck driver didn’t deliver their cups. This lead to people not getting water or waiting but getting it in a soup cup. This also led to our sandwiches taking a little while to come out. This could easily have been a negative, but they decided to give every that had to wait a free yogurt.
Overall the sandwiches were very tasty and the yogurt may have been some of the best frozen yogurt I have ever tasted. They dont have a done of choice, but the flavor was amazing!
My only real negative comment is that the smoke shop as a neighboring store is a little weird.

Absolutely amazing!!! Came in for the fro-​yo, and it was totally worth it :) the offer the yogurt and also a dairy free option. I had to sample both of course, and both had such bold flavor! They offer tons of options for toppings, I couldn’t decide so I went with naked cups, but next time the toppings will flow! The store is clean, bright, and cheery; the owners are sweet and down to earth. Can’t wait to frequent this local spot.

I really try not to give out 5 stars more than absolutely necessary, and after today’s visit here I really had no other choice.
We came here for the first time despite it being on my radar for months (thanks to Unilocal!). The staff were super friendly and took the time to explain their menu.
We got the cubano, chili bowl, signature melon seed slider, and broccoli soup. Everything tasted great. It was well seasoned, and everything tasted fresh. Portion sizes are great too. The sandwiches are halfway between a regular sandwich size and the tiny sliders you get at most restaurants. We left feeling satisfied, but not stuffed to the gills.
The icing on the cake was that when we had just about wrapped up our meal, one of the nice staff members brought us 2 tasters each of their four froyo flavors (two flavors swirled into each taster), completely unprovoked. Impeccable service, great food, absolutely nothing bad to say about this place. Will definitely be back, and you should be here too.

I had to go to Tacoma today so I made a point to go to the Melonseed. I got the wonderful Stuffed Strawberries!!! I didn’t order anything else because I know from experience that this is extremely filling!!!
It came to me bigger than when I ordered it the first time, via delivery. It was presented beautifully. A true work of art!
YUMMY!!! And so refreshing.
Again, I could only eat part of it. They put the rest in a box for me on a fresh and bountiful bed of real whipped cream, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce and candy brittle. I figured I would eat the leftovers over the next few days like last time. I ate the rest all tonight! So much for my waistline. Oh so good though!!! AND I remembered to take pictures!
Try out the Melonseed. I highly recommend them.
