What a great place for a haircut. Not only is Ned a top notch barber, he really takes the time to get to know you. The other day I went in for my usual two week visit and he asked me if I had changed shampoos because my hair seemed waxy. I told him that I had just changed it yesterday! Amazing that he had noticed. He informed me that the shampoo was a no-​go which was a bummer since it was a bit pricy!
Thanks Ned for being my barber the past three years and here’s to more in the future.

I have been passing this place for months, and today I finally stopped and got a haircut… I absolutely love my haircut. Ned the owner does amazing work. I must say I have found my new hairstylist, handsome the best place to go downtown.

Husband wants to go back when he doesn’t have to do a functional cut over style. Ned delivered what my husband asked for and there was no wait nor over-​the-​top show of hipster cool. In classic (Brooklyn) barber shop style, Ned was friendly and chatted thru the session.
Great neighborhood fine and prices matched the complexity of the cut.
Apparently, Ned also does women’s cuts too according to a posted price sheet.

Ned is a solid barber! I’ve always walked away with a great cut. My only complaint, as Tom C. mentioned, I’ve come by when he was late opening the shop on time. But understandably stuff comes up and he’s had to run and take care of things. No sweat though, I’ve always come back.

Hours clearly posted on door: 10am-​7pm on Thursday. Another sign on the door reads «Will return at 10am» but it’s 10:53am right now and the place is closed. No answer when I called– straight to voicemail.
The world is too competitive of a place to do bad business like this. While it is a good idea to call in advance it’s not always necessary… like when you have stellar Unilocal reviews. I would expect nothing less than to be open during the advertised hours.

Ned is really good at his job! He is extremely patient and precise. This is the one and only barber shop I have been to since my time in Tacoma and I don’t intend to try any other place. Cheers mate!

Excellent service and very professional. Ned is a really good barber and has a lot of patience. I’m very picky and Ned listens really well to what I want. He is a real craftsman and he has very reasonable prices. Highly recommended. Best barber in the North End if not all of Tacoma. One other thing is that the shop is not pretentious at all. You don’t feel pressured or out of place here like some places.

Having recently moved to the Stadium area I was looking for a barber that could give a quality hair cut. Ned at Talons did just that. I walked out very satisfied and will return when I need my next haircut.

It has taken me a while to find a good barber in Tacoma but finally I found Talon’s Barbershop. Ned does a great job with his haircut. His attention to detail and meticulous way of cutting hair is unsurpassed by any barber that I have found in Tacoma. He takes his time and makes certain that I walk out with a great haircut. I am definitely a repeat customer and would recommend Ned to anybody needing a great haircut.

Ned is very meticulous and through with his clients! Very easy to talk to, and grey hair cut. I’d say cuts but I’ve only gotten one so far, but I will definitely be going back for more cuts from Ned! Great price as well especially for the work he puts into making you look good!

I’m always a bit apprehensive about going to barbershops (or anywhere) without ratings online, but this time it was definitely worthwhile.
I am very particular with how I like my hair cut. Because of that, it is difficult to find a barbershop that I can get a good cut, and can see the same barber every time I go in to get the same thing. Ned is great — very friendly and very good at cutting hair. I am already a repeat customer.
