I have a lot of eye issues and was looking for someone who would really be able to figure it out. Not only is the staff incredibly rude but they also are completely unorganized. When I called them out on it they got snippy and basically just told me to go away. The doctor kept arguing with me, saying that I clearly has astigmatism but everytime I tried the lenses for astigmatism it was awful. I tried on the regular ones and it was so much better. She didn’t believe me at all and said, «well if you wanna substitute blurry for comfort…». What?! Its not that way at all. I finished up paying my bill and will never set foot in here again.

I was looking to get LASIK or PRK surgery in January 2008; at first I was bargain hunting(I’d seen billboards advertising $ 500 per eye) but then I realized how bargain hunting was probably not the best option when pursuing a potentially permanently sensory-debilitating procedure. Trust me, you don’t want just anyone working on your eyes. I’d found St. Mark’s Eye Institute somewhere on a Yahoo search engine and scheduled a free walk-in examination. They were upfront about their costs(at the time, $ 1000 per eye) and the free post-procedure check-ups to monitor my healing. It was worth every penny; the procedure itself can be very uncomfortable, but the doctor had always been friendly and comforting. The receptionists and other staff are warm and inviting. When you have to come in for so many check-ups, it’s relieving to know that there are amazing and competent staff. There wasn’t one minute that I regretted the money I spent; my eyesight is now 20/15, all thanks to St. Mark’s Eye Institute.
