Doug was fantastic and Lady at front desk couldn’t be more cheerful or helpful. I actually placed the wrong order but they were flexible and made it work for me (amateur DIY’er) without making me feel embarrassed. Location is close to highway, service staff who fill your truck are young and helpful; quality of wood was pretty good — I got 15 bundles of tongue n groove cedar and had about 6 – 8 real ugly boards out of 115; which is expected I feel like.
Lastly go early or during off hours. I was there at 7:05am on Saturday and the parking lot was already full and lineup 4 deep at front desk. Do yourself and them a favor and plan order ahead and go early or during off hours!

Nice little lumber yard — good selection of quality US & BC lumber, the other posts are right — you will not get a foot rub with your purchase. They wont let you sort your lumber either «when they are busy «- you do not have to accept bent, twisted or lumber with knot holes in it — when they pull this on me — I tell them to go back and do it again ! The only thing that grates me about this place is the 30% restocking fee. BEWARE. But with all the nits — you are now prepared to shop there — yes, there is a reason why the place is crazy busy and it isnt the foot rub.

This place is Awesome~They have a web site, so I was able to make a list with prices for my project. When I got there I wanted to check the different grades of lumber available, that I had on my list, a worker gladly stopped to assist me… I went into the office paid for my pieces of lumber and within minutes some one was loading my truck, they have a no sorting policy, which is understandable, with the prices being so low… so buy good grades of lumber, you will get a wonderful surprise~great lumber~!!!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE… I went in on a weekday around 11:30AM and was the only person there. Right after getting out of my truck an older lady yelled at me for parking in the wrong place and acted as if I shouldn’t have come on the property at all. When I told her I wanted to buy lumber she directed me to a guy who pointed to the lumber yard then disappeared.
I went in circles trying to find what I needed (nothing is labeled) and had to go all the way back to the office to try to find help. The office lady was grumpy and unhelpful (told me that the helper guy was probably just in the «john» or his truck)…
When I located the first stock I needed (cedar 2×8 that I had seen on the website) he would not open the bundle and wanted me to choose from water-​logged old stock.
I had a list of lumber I needed and typically spend over 1k per trip. I am a good customer, make quick decisions and get out fast (and never return stuff). They seemed disinterested in helping me at all… it was seriously weird.
My husband is also a contractor and builds custom homes — he had never heard of the place and now I know why.
Guess I got sucked in by the nice website.
There are better lumber yards around Tacoma with better attitudes.
I went elsewhere.

Great company to deal with. Got some great cedar fencing for a cheap. They were able to fill my order and ship it to me in California.
