Don’t blame the messenger. That being store level associates being used as tools by store management and the lack of training provided by Lowe’s corporate, district management, and the in-house HR. Blame has to start at the top. Store level blame goes to store manager Mark Croy and his Assistant Store Management team, and Human Resource personnel. Store level associates put up with all the customers crap, managerial lies and manipulations, and reap little to no reward. Customers, just be mindful, most of Lowe’s employees will have no clue what 4⁄12 pitch means or even what element material is used for an anode rod. Store level associates are the modern day coal miners before coal miners unionized.

Not five stars only because their Christmas supply seemed like less than Home Depot, right across the street, but Ralph definitely went the extra mile in helping me today and I’m very thankful for him!

One time with an issue is ok but I’ve had a handful at this Lowes. It’s not always bad. Tonight I stopped to pick up some tables. They needed a licensed person to get them from a shelf but no one was around. These were on sale for $ 5 off so I asked if I could get a discount of $ 5 on a higher prices option. Nope. I can come by tomorrow to get the others. Now I’m going to Walmart to get them for $ 6 cheaper. This isn’t a huge issue but compounds on many service issues over the years plus I had to wait so long.

Normally I prefer Lowes to Home Depot… Not today! Won’t be back– small selection, ghetto staff, no one smiled, helpful– sort of… Didn’t know what either a turn buckle or a screw eye were… But after looking it up they were able to point me to the exact location. Still, don’t think I will be back, felt icky and desperate in there– can’t explain it…

We go to this Lowe’s regularly(approximately bi-weekly) and have about the same experience that we have at every other home improvement store. I’m partial to McClendon’s, honestly, but we just bought a refrigerator from this store and not only did they offer free delivery AND haul away, but the guys that came to install it had to take our kitchen door off the hinges to fit the fridge through and they were still in and out in less than an hour. Polite, friendly, and speedy. Great service. Side note, their refrigerator selection is far bigger than Home Depot’s.

We’ve been here a few times and I haven’t been disappointed with the service. They are stocked with items that we need. All of the staff that had helped us were friendly and were knowledgable in their areas.

Dirty bathroom. I took my son to the bathroom when we were shopping there and the trashcans in the men’s restroom was overflowing with trash. There was even a Lowe’s employee stinking up the place and he just added to the waterfall of paper towels on the floor.

50⁄50 on the staff. The garden people don’t seem to know what they are talking about. There was this one lady who actually seemed very put out to help me, she was so impatient, and her body language was even worse, just plain awful! Not only that, but they told me to use concrete to seal my cinder block bed, and um NO, it was cement that I needed, found that out too late, well after my garden bed is now ruined, now having to start over from scratch, I will NEVER get gardening help from them again! I’m seriously upset about that, I know it’s trial and error with home projects, but I’ve never been steered in the wrong direction at any other do it yourself type store. It was a PAIN to find someone to help us most of the time, had to hunt people down, WAY understaffed, and they truly don’t need 3 staff members helping one customer, annoying. Ryan helped us with our tile flooring, and although he didn’t have all the answers, he made sure that he helped us figure it all out altogether. Ron helped us in the appliance department, and was fantastic as well. Anthony helped me today with getting cement, and not concrete. I told him how upset I was about being told the wrong thing, He didn’t seem to care, and he seemed annoyed to hear my story, but he still was nice, and helped me out a great deal. Their employees need to be better knowledgeable thoughout the whole store.

The main problem with Lowe’s is finding someone, anyone, to help you! Sales associates magically disappear the moment you want assistance. Once you have cornered a sales assistant he or she is very likely to have little knowledge of the product. I’m sorry but, well, «Ace is the place…»

I stopped in after checking out pretty much everywhere in town that carries curtains. It was around 7:00, and the store was pretty dead. Headed straight to the curtain department, where the first thing I discovered was that the curtain samples display was pretty much just for show– most of the samples were either being discontinued, «phased out»(isn’t that the same thing?), or just weren’t there at all. Their selection of kitchen-appropriate prints was not much of a selection. When I realized that all of their kitchen-type prints were valances or short skirt-type curtains, I went to ask a sales associate if they carried kitchen prints in other sizes there in the store, or online. He was unable to tell me anything helpful, but just kept repeating that the displays were arranged by brand. Which I did not need to be told. My next question was about a certain brand of blackout curtain– every color but one came in two sizes, and I just wanted to know if the blue I wanted would be in stock anytime soon in the smaller size. The associate told me they didn’t carry the blue in any other sizes. I pointed out how the brand’s entire line was clearly displayed in two sizes, and there was even an empty spot where the one I wanted belonged. He still insisted they didn’t carry it. At this point he told me that he worked in the paint department, and was just really glad to get away because of an obnoxious customer who needed paint mixed. And that the person who knew about curtains wasn’t working. Since this was the sixth store I stopped at, I was feeling reckless. I was willing to throw ridiculous amounts of money at Lowe’s just to get the kitchen, bedrooms, office and living room of my new house curtained. I was so tired of shopping and with very little effort, they could have taken full advantage of my willingness to spend, but even with the store deserted, I couldn’t find anyone who could help me fill my cart with curtains and rods and fixtures. The reason they get two stars is that the curtain section is well organized, and it’s easy to find what you need, or quickly find that they do not have it.

Lowe’s service seems back to where it had been. Thank you Pat! I was doing some lighting projects around the house and found the Electrical department to be a tremendous help. I had been comparing ceiling lighting systems from Seattle Lighting and a similar product at Lowe’s; a knowledgeable gentleman assisted me and I decided to purchase the lighting from Lowe’s saving I about two hundred dollars. The installation was quick and relatively easy; I had made a mistake while installing the system and could not get all the lights to work simultaneously. I called the store and was connected to Pat in the electrical department, within minutes she narrowed down the problem to a short circuit I had created, boom the problem was fixed. Latter on that same week I was at a competitor across town having difficulty getting a question about installing a three way dimmer. I called Pat at Lowe’s and she remembered me and sure enough she explained how a three way circuit works and exactly what I needed to do to add a dimmer to the circuit. I went home did exactly as she had instructed and now have a dimmer added to a three way circuit going down the hall that has four(4) switches controlling it.

I’ve been in here about 5 or 6 times. I ask questions every time I’m there and never get ANYONE who can answer me with any product knowledge whatsoever. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars and get the worst service and uneducated staff I’ve seen. The other day as I left the store I voiced my opinion to the manager who was sitting in front of his computer… he stayed seated and unconcerned as I gave him my thoughts. SOOOO many other places for me to spend my money…
