There aren’t many places to get dim sum around these parts, this is as close as it gets. Dim Sum on weekends end at 3pm. Get there before that(like at 11am), they run out of food and it takes about 20 minutes to steam whatever they have left. Good service They need to clean their windowsills, baby spiders don’t make good lunch guests. I shall return earlier on a Saturday and do a better review.

The worse of the worse Asian food. Guests from out of city/county and out of state indicate that this is the absolute worse Asian food that they have ever experienced. I certainly agree and will not return nor refer others to this place.

We went here for Dim Sum because it is literally the only place near Tacoma we could find for weekend Dim Sum without driving to Seattle. The food was pretty great overall. I would have rated it 3 stars due to the Shu Mai which was a bit chewy, the steamed bbq pork buns which were a little under-filled, the mango bun which was a tad dry, and the high price on the chinese broccoli with hoisin, but the other items bumped it up to 4 star category, along with the overall low prices and quick service. The chicken wings are one of the best things there and I could not stop eating them. Seriously, get a double order. We did find them nice and garlicky, despite some prior reviewer thinking they were not. They are spicy, sweet, crunchy and delicious. The tea was quite good, as were most of the other Dim Sum items we got. They did bring a couple carts around to offer us items, but mostly we ordered from the menu which items we wanted. I think they have trouble with marketing and communicating their hours to the public as their website, Google, and their phone number were ALL incorrect about their opening time for Dim Sum. For the record, the Dim Sum weekend hours are currently 10a-2p. Their phone says noon, which is true only on weekdays, when there is no Dim Sum. Is Dim Sum in Seattle better? Yes. Is this place good enough that it’s worth it? Also yes.

I was recently here for Sunday Dim Sum and it was pretty good! The prices were VERY reasonable. Only about $ 2-$ 3 per dish. Everything tasted really good. The only disappointment is they didn’t have any of the BBQ pork buns… they were all out. Overall the service was fast, the food was good, and the seating was comfortable.

We came here because it is the closest dim sum restaurant from where we live. This place has potential, but I was disappointed to find that some of the dishes we wanted to order were«out», even though we came at lunch time around 12:30pm and their dim sum service ended at 2pm. In all honestly, I don’t think they were«out» of the dishes, but simply did not feel like cooking another batch. I still would come back here to satisfy my dim sum cravings since my absolute favorite dish is the shrimp rice roll. It is not the best I have had(China Town San Francisco, CA), but not the worst. Hopefully the next time around they will have the dishes I want«in stock» lol.

We came to this establishment specifically for dim sum because this is the only dim sum restaurant available in Tacoma that I know of. We came on a Saturday at 11 am and it was not busy. The selections are limited and the food is average at best but it did satisfy my cravings. I love chicken feet and was very happy that they served this. I noticed that majority of the steamed dumplings were stuffed with shrimp, which is not bad at all. I just wished that they had different options besides shrimp. They also charge for tea which I thought was weird. Anyway, I would definitely return because it did satisfy my cravings and the drive isn’t far.

Roaches! I was eating at the bar and two little brown cockroaches swarmed aroud my plate. After this i got up, in shock. hardley ate even two bites of my food, and they lady has the nerve to charge me for my food still??? Didnt even wipe down the counter where they were crawling. *and she saw them* This place is dirty dirty dirty. I wouldnt have left this review if they wouldnt have charged me. how can one eat after that? That’s called karma. Better off starving then risking your health eating here. I would rather starve… which I am now actually because I just left this place. GROSS.

Food is great once it makes it to the table. Service hurts the wonderful food. So if your in search of dim sum keep driving to Seattle.

The servers are great but this is based off of their food. the Garlic chicken wings have absolutely nothing to do with garlic since they are slathered in sweet and spicy sauce, I can’t tell you how much that disappointed me BUT they are extremely crunchy and super hot when they come out. I think it’s time to change the name of that dish Guys. Also their spicy calamari isn’t spicy! I mean how can it be when it’s made using bell peppers NOT jalapeño come on guys! BUT all is not lost their soups are delicious, walnut shrimp is tasty and their coconut bread is my son’s favorite. I WANT to love this place but the mislabeled food and the fact they are ALWAYS out of dishes gets frustrating.

Well, my search for dim sum continues! Stopped while I was in Tacoma, ended up getting dim sum and soup. Note, dim sum is only available on the weekends(at least, such was the case when I visited). The dim sum was average. Not bad, though! I ate it all and didn’t complain. But if I am in the mood for dim sum again, I would check other places first before returning to this one. That being said, if this were the only dim sum place in town, I’d come back for more! On the other hand, the won ton soup I got was great, and my friend really enjoyed her chicken noodle soup. Oddly enough, this happened to be a good place to catch the NBA game that was on. Although this is an «Asian Fusion» place, there were big TVs and booths that kinda gave it a sports bar-like feeling. Go check it out, I enjoyed my time there.

We celebrate our Xmas party here, the food was so yummy-delicious, the service was excellent. One of the bonus for us was the restaurant owner went around the tables and cheers us up with his free of rounds… cant’t wait till our next one.

A group of friends and I came here on Mother’s Day for dim sum, because we weren’t in the mood to drive to Seattle like we usually do. The reviews weren’t too bad, so I figured it was worth a shot. It’s definitely not your typical dim-sum place, but if you are craving it and want a quick fix, then I suppose this will do. I, personally won’t go back just because the food was not to my liking. My friends did not mind it, but I was extremely disappointed. They did not have some of my favorite dishes available or it was«out» for the day. If you want quality dim sum, then make the drive to Seattle. But if not, then I guess this could be the place for you.

Considering its the only DIMSUM in the Tacoma area, you take what you can get. Good enough to return to wheb you are in the mood for it. Recommend coming in at 10AM so food is freshly cooked

The food was great but the service was slow I had to wait for a seat for about 20 minutes! when you asked for Korean barbecue meaning using the grill if you don’t eat all the food they will charge you! They don’t really tell you the prices. when you use the grill it’s each person they charge and The price of the meal and if you don’t eat it all don’t charge you extra and you can’t to get home. So basically you had a treat it like it’s a buffet! But overall the food is good!

Cute little place. I like how they are open on Sunday’s. The food isn’t as great as the dim sum I’ve had before though. The place has a bar and what looks like to be a karaōke area for weekend nights.

I was thrilled to finally have a dimsum place in Lakewood/Tacoma. This place is fine– I mean if you have had dumplings(pupu platter 808 style) then you might just be disappointed. It’s not bad though just not what I was expecting for the prices. We waited over 45 minutes for our food but we did have a large order and visited on a Thursday. The waiter was very kind and explained there would be a wait because they freshly prepare the dumplings and that on the weekends they have the dimsum ala’cart. Their chicken wings are delicious. My son’s both shared with one another Ginger Palace wings are better than Mom’s. lol boo! I will return for a weekend experience for sure.

Don’t get too excited about dim sum, Tacoma. Overall, it was decent when we tried it out several months ago. You’re not going to get the hustle and bustle of a Chinese dim sum restaurant here with hella carts rolling around. It was really scaled down since it was just something they offer on weekends. Limited choices, but they do have the usual har gow, shu mai, bao, chicken feet, etc. Some things were better than others, but nothing memorable. We had to order some things a la carte that would usually be on the regular dim sum menu elsewhere. But the manager and waitresses were wonderful and service was great since it was not crowded at all. Decent if you crave dim sum but don’t want to venture into Seattle. But if I were you, I’d take the trip to Seattle over going to Ginger Palace.

AMAZINGDIMSUM I highly recommend stopping in for the dim sum: only available on the weekends(sat/sun) from 10 – 3. I came in with my family today and enjoyed almost everything from the dim sum cart, and also the bread tray that came around later. Come with a big group and order everything. There is plenty to enjoy and something for everyone, including a few vegetarian options. Come with an appetite and you will definitely leave satisfied.

I don’t even know what to say. We waited for more than 15 minutes and the restaurant was closed. Other clients were there waiting too. We drove all the way from Seattle to finally taste their food, we were there pass noon and they never opened. :( Next time I’ll call first. Will update next time.

I ordered dim sum right as they opened at 10am(we were the first ones there) and everything was delicious and fresh. The wait staff pushed the cart to our table and we picked and chose what we wanted. I got the chicken feet in black bean sauce, shrimp dumplings, shu mai, tofu roll, honey pineapple custard bun, bbq pork bun, and a few other things. Service was excellent and friendly — and once the staff learned I could speak Vietnamese, we started learning more about each other on a personal level. I liked everything I ate, especially the eggplant shrimp. The place is huge and cavernous, making me nostalgic for the days when huge banquet halls in the strip malls were the site of large fancy Asian wedding receptions. But the place is very clean, and caters to a diverse clientele. We are most definitely coming back here for our dim sum fix(bonus points because we don’t want to drive to Seattle for all things dim sum).
