Gibson’s Frozen Yogurt Shoppe

The ambiance is definitely different than your regular, super colorful, brightly lit froyo spot. In fact, it’s a dimly lit, kinda divey place that looks more like one of those diners you go to after getting out of the bars and you got some mad munchies.
Anywho, it’s different and I kinda liked it. Seems like a cool place to hang out for a while, eat your froyo, maybe go back to the counter and get a coffee, read the news, etc.
Yogurt tastes fresh and everything, but the problem is selection. Sometimes too much selection is a bad thing because you want to try everything and you end up with 24 ounces of the stuff, but when you get only a handful of flavors you almost just serve yourself because you’re already there and why not.

This, this one hurts, I LOVE coming here, I LOVE the froyo, but I LOATHE getting ripped off. The last 3 visits within the last 2 months, I have been overcharged or blatantly stolen from. I always get the fixed price cup, its smaller and I can get what I want, 2 cups = $ 9.99. First time, my total came to $ 9.99 then my card got charged $ 15 and I caught it, got a refund… innocent mistake. next time, same thing, coincidence? This time $ 9.99, look at my bank statement the next day, $ 42… that is one hell of a gratuity. I really hope one day I can come back and review it again, and say… well they took care of the problems and theft to patrons is no longer an issue, but until then… beware.

Love this small town feeling froyo and coffee hangout. I have made a cotton candy with lychee bubbles froyo; a euro tart with snickers pieces and caramel; and the most recent was a peach? with raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries froyo. always delicious. And I kicked my boyfriends butt at bezzerwizzer board game here :) though it would be nice to have all the pieces to the game.

This place is fun. I found it on Unilocal after grabbing some sub par Thai. The yogurt was amazing. The toppings were a lot of fun. They had an entire pie. But overall the best part was the yogurt. I was amazed at the depth in those flavors. I loved it. Will go back again!

I live right down the street and I am quickly becoming a local. I love Gibsons. They have new frozen yogurt flavors every time I go in and I love them all! I filled out a whole punch card this month already. They have military discount which is awesome too!

This place is great! I love love their only 8 frozen yogurt. It’s great if you’re calorie counting or just into healthy eating. There is fresh fruit available too. I like to get a cup of coffee with my yogurt as well. The staff is super nice and the seating is great for groups or by yourself. This is by far my favorite frozen yogurt place in Tacoma.

First time here and I LOVE it! Small town feel, the environment is comfortable and the cashier was so sweet! Even gave me 2 punches on a loyalty card I just got today! :)

This is officially my favorite froyo place in the world.
1. They serve coffee and smoothies. You can literally get whatever you want.
2. They have a full pie that you can scoop into your cup.
3. Fresh bananas that they cut when you ask for it instead of having them sitting there.
4. The upstairs has a giant TV and board games.
5. Reese’s peanut butter syrup.
Will definitely come back, especially when they have the peanut butter flavor!

I love Gibson’s the absolute best frozen yogurt in Tacoma hands down ! I never leave here disappointed and will most definitely continue to go.

Gibson’s makes you feel like your a kid again and going into a nice cream shop. I’m very froyo picky, but this place owns it. It taste just like ice cream! They always have great favors, and unlimited amount of toppings. It’s almost difficult to choose because everything looks amazing! They even have apple pie from Costco– omg– yum!!! I just love this place and enjoying coming here, especially showing people who haven’t been before. They to have to-​go lids which are nice when you want it for later. They also have a punch card which is a nice loyalty program and specials for different days of the week.

We had the pleasure of having Gibson’s Frozen Yogurt at our company BBQ and the employees are still talking about the unique idea, the delicious yogurt/​toppings, and the delightful staff. If you want a special, unique touch to any event, with an amazing product and staff, you’ve found the perfect company now that you’ve come across Gibson’s!
PS. The young man running the truck deserves extra credit for how sweet he was. I was expecting a teenager who hated their job but this young man was amazing!

Want a place that offers froyo with lots of toppings? What about unique flavors and syrups that no other place offers? Then you want Gibson’s. My friend and I were craving cold, milky goodness and found Gibson’s through this very site. Well, they lived up to their reputation and I was in froyo heaven. I had a mix of the creamsicle, peach, and vanilla flavors with a bunch of fruit toppings with a good measure of sprinkles.
Let me tell you, this leaves Blissberri and all the similar add-​your-​own-​toppings-​charge-​by-​weight shops in the dust. It was pure frozen yogurt heaven, and I am trying to find reasons to go back to Tacoma just so I can enjoy Gibson’s again.

Great place with a family atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and it’s such a fun environment. The colors are bright and inviting, and reminds me of an old soda shop. There’s even a long counter with bar stools to give it that classic feel. They do various promotions throughout the week such as Mustache Monday and Two Punch Tuesday which gives you double punches on their loyalty card. They also have What’s The Weight Wednesday where customers can guess the exact weight of their yogurt for a 50% discount and $ 5 Fill-​Up Friday.
As for the yogurt, they offer eight flavors of self-​serve yogurt. The majority of the flavors are made by YoCream which is always amazing. They are also the only shop in the area to offer Only 8 yogurt which is Kosher, gluten free, and only 8 calories per ounce. They consistently offer a vanilla flavor and Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate along with a no sugar added flavor and sorbet. If you’re feeling adventurous, they can blend it into a milkshake or a smoothie for you. They also have cones if you prefer the old fashioned ice cream parlor experience.
The topping bar has a great variety of fruits and decadent sweets to include various chocolate candy bars, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, chocolate chips, fruit, and cookie dough bites as well as whipped cream and various syrups/​sauces. They have also been known to offer fresh cakes and pies on the topping bar, so that’s a real treat!
Gibson’s offers a loyalty card which will give the customer 4 oz free after purchasing five yogurts. Who doesn’t love free yogurt? The yogurt is very reasonably priced at $ 0.48 per ounce, and a military discount is offered. They also have a smaller cup that can be filled for a flat rate of $ 3.99. Take home containers are offered in the freezer case for $ 4 and $ 8.
In addition to yogurt, Gibson’s also offers a variety of coffee drinks including espresso, cappuccino, lattes, tea, and hot chocolate. They also have various pastries if you’re looking for a breakfast item to go with your coffee.
Gibson’s is also the only shop in the area to feature a mobile frozen yogurt truck that can be seen around town and also offers catering for special events. Who wouldn’t want their event to feature frozen yogurt? If you’re looking for an awesome place in Tacoma for your favorite frozen treat or coffee beverage, Gibson’s is the place. Check them out!

I really liked this yogurt place! They have lots of different kinds of yogurt flavors to pick from!
I went the classic route and got vanilla and chocolate swirl. Ghiradelli chocolate to be precise and it was great!
The thing that really makes this Gibson’s yogurt location is the diversity of extra toppings and ingredients you can put on your yogurt!
Some of those things seemed extremely unlikely compliments to yogurt yet intriguing like wasabi peas for instance. I did not feel brave enough to put them on my yogurt however.
The yogurt is good and creamy and the ingredients fresh!
I will look forward to going back!

Gibson’s yogurt shop doesn’t have the best frozen yogurt I’ve ever had. It was a little watery and not as creamy as froyo I’ve had elsewhere. Their topping selection was about standard. The price was also typical to other yogurt shops.
I really was hoping to be more impressed by this place because I love supporting local. I still have to say: Menchie’s still does it better in my opinion. Bummer.

Awesome selection of flavors here! Probably the best frozen yogurt place I have been to, and very good prices here as well. I have gotten the Strawberry Banana and just plain Strawberry FY’s all the time and love them!
From what I know, all the ingredients are local products and fresh! (And the owners are local to)

This place is almost 5 star worthy!!! The major fault is that the parking can be null and void, I don’t want to worry about getting towed by parking in the lot that specifically calls for the grocery store even though it shares the lot with Gibson, bleh!
Yummy froyo, always a decent selection of goods and I love all the toppings Gibson’s offers. The service here is always super friendly and I love the community/​local feel. I haven’t ventured upstairs but I here they do lot’s of local event’s! Oh and the best park is you are supporting a local business!

The owner of Gibson’s wrote me about the gift card situation and let me know they were unhappy with the current cards and working hard to fix the situation. Hopefully the company making the cards has done right by Gibson’s by the time you read this. If buying a gift card, check!
