Cascade Eye & Skin Center of University Place

Came today with my 2 kids I was not impressed with their front office staff they were rude and loud yes I forgot my purse at home it happens and they let everyone know about it rude it’s called hippa.

I have been treated a few times at this facility and it always a real pleasure as they are so professional and friendly. I recommend them highly and this is rare for me!

Stay away from this place! I was going there weekly for over 3 years for my vitiligo skin laser treatment and suddenly was discharged due to «failing to establish a good doctor-​patient relationship.» Really??? I believe it is because sometimes asked questions when they changed my laser settings and wanted to clarify with the provider first before I agreed for them to treat me. They said I «liked to argue» with the tech who treated me. They have a half a dozens doctors or PA there whom I frequently saw and each one had a different opinion on how my skin should be treated. If I had concern about the procedure, I believe my concerns should be addressed professionally and with respect.
My insurance paid good money for my treatment so I expected them to treat my skin accordingly. The manager of the office was arrogant as well. They usually saw me 30 to 40 minutes after my scheduled time and I could not complain? Get real! Glad I found another place to continue my treatment.
Update: I called to pay my last bill but they blocked my number so I could not even call their billing dept. WOW!!! This should not happen in the U. S, perhaps in communist countries, but not AMERICA!
BTW: Wish I could give them 0 (zero) star since they did not deserve any star!

This is, my second try with them again horrible waiting time. Had an appointment at 250. Waited about 40 minutes to be seen even after I ask the receptionist about it.4 people were checked in after me they were called. Hellooooo I’m still waiting. Finally I’m in. waiting again for about 16 minutes in the office they did offer me a free coffee card for waiting so long still we are all busy people I work a full time job and my time is precious. Still waiting 340 by now.
Never again will I go back I will find somebody else.
Doctor came in to see me for about 3 minutes very distracted felt rushed.
This is not a place for sick patients. thats a place were doctors only care about the dollar bills they will get.
Very sad I’m also writing a letter to my insurance. Hopefully hey get dropped.
Oh by the way without getting my results of my biopsy back she told me with a smile on her face that I will see more radiation in the future. What kinda, doctor is this.

The area of communication between departments and with patients has quite some space to grow. I would not recommend this business.

I’ve been coming here for years. Was happy. It has become a nightmare. Complete mess of an organization. False promises, departing doctors, errors in billing (charged my card 950.00 but sent me a bill anyway), no accountability.
Don’t bother.

This place has no respect for their patients time a 45 minute wait was no big deal. No sense of urgency no apologies I will be looking for a new option I changed my eye dr because the Puyallup office wasted my time looks like it’s time for a new dermatologist too!!!

I went to this clinic for an eye exam and eyeglasses fitting. The staff was courteous and professional. There was quite a wait because of the number of customers. While I was signing in, there was this rude customer who was spilling profanities to the staff. The staff handled it professionally and I was impressed (I would’ve called security and thrown this pos out). Thumbs up!

Is anyone else having billing issues?
This review is for the billing/“bookkeeping” department.
First of all, we’d had a pretty good service by the technicians, nurses, PA’s, and 1 doctor we saw for a 3 minutes during our last 4 – 5 months of treatment. The front desk gal (gotta get her name!!) was super nice and remembered us each time we went (every 2 weeks so she quickly recognized us)
my problem is the billing. Bookkeeping SWEARS the bill is printed on the 15^th of every month and is mailed out within 24 hours. First month, we never got a bill and I forgot about it until the 2^nd bill came with a late fee. I paid it assuming I COULD have missed it. But the 2^nd bill also came a good 7 – 10 business days after the 15^th. It shouldn’t take THAT long for the post office. When I tried to let the Bookkeeping department know this (thinking it may not be just us that have this problem), she was very cross. Not very friendly or nice. She just kept saying «I can’t control the post office…». then asked if I wanted to arrange a payment plan. It wasn’t that I couldn’t pay (have a very stocked FLEX planned for this year), I just wanted to make sure I was getting the bill on time and there were no more fees.
So, here we are in August 26^th. The bill that supposedly gets billed on the 15^th is still not here. Bookkeeping says its been mailed out. I tried calling the front desk of the clinic but only the «scheduling» department answers and she can’t help. She’s annoyed that I even called her about a subject she «can’t do anything» about.
For a clinic that has numerous facilities around town, and the amount of money I’ve spent in the last few months, they’ve gotta be able to get a better phone manners and get the damn billing system in order. I WANT to pay and they’re still not much of a help! Or are they purposely wanting me to not get the bill so they can add the late fees? what’s the deal?!
Those going to this facility, keep an eye out on the bill. I usually only scan the bill and just pay it. I just happen to be taking some time off from work and had some extra time to really look at the bill and found the fee.

I have extremely fair skin and burned to the point of blister numerous times in the past. My mom and maternal grandmother both have a history of skin cancer.
I’ve had these dry spots on my arms and legs for a couple years and finally got them checked.
The provider I saw said they needed to be frozen off. He froze 28 spots and told me they would blister and scab. He didn’t check the rest of my skin — as I would assume you’d do at least annually.
I wish he would’ve taken the time to talk to me and see if this was the best option for me. I am a picker (I know! I know!) and could help but pop the blisters and pick the scabs. When I went in for my follow up, I saw a different provider that said someone who is a picker shouldn’t have had this type of treatment. (Oh yeah, did I mention one became infected?!). She had to give me injections in EACH SPOT to help dry and decrease the inflammation.
I have another follow up this week. Hope I will get a more thorough exam.

I am sooo disappointed in the service that I received at this location. I was given false information by the technician and the assistant about the cost of my office visit. I called the billing department and asked why I was getting a bill when the service was never received, and she was clueless of the situation. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone! :(

Very impressed by this place! Staff is awesome! They get you in and out. PA David is very personable.

Check every where else for a lower price on blemish removal. I spent close to $ 400 for a 10 minute facial procedure. Extra for a 1 minute arm procedure. Went in 3 weeks later to remove one blemish they missed on my face and they wanted to charge me… amazing. Love the people… hate the price!

The place is huge, and the front staff was very pleasant. The examiner, bold guy has such a bad attitude with bad jokes. I was curious to why he was employed there with such horrible customer service skills. He also looked like he could have been a secret serial killer. They told me they would get back to me in regards to Contact lenses fitting, I still haven’t heard from them. I also never received my free gift for checking in when asked. The optical store in there was very friendly and fast. Oh, they continuously send you email after email after email to complete your online profile too.

I went for a skin check since I come from Arizona, grew up in So Cal and have had a previous case of skin cancer on my back. I was so disappointed. Only a very cursory look at my back and arms while standing up. No exam of lower body. Overall check took them about a minute at most. I think they’re more into the plastic surgery side of things. I’m not going back to them because when your health is at risk with skin cancer, you want someone who actually does the job they’re charging you for. I don’t normally write bad reviews, but this was really bad.

I had two different appointments with minor surgery on my head. The front desk ladies where very friendly. The nurses/​assistants where wonderful to talk to & they laughed at all my bad jokes. The Doctor was great! Each time they took the time to talk to me & did a great job of numbing the areas so I had no pain. I’m glad I went here to get my head worked on. Thanks

I came here for a tattoo removal. The receptionists in the cosmetic center were wonderful. The doctor explained everything that was going to happen. Yes, it hurts. Yes, I had a few tears. No the tattoo is not gone yet (will take one or two more). However I have already seen lighter areas and some where the tattoo faded completely. Have another appt soon. Yes, they are pricey. Oh well though. Love this place.

I saw Dr. Nelson for a very minor procedure two weeks ago. I was a little nervous about going here after reading some of the reviews.
It took about a month to get an appointment, but that is pretty standard. The facility is very clean and comfortable. I liked the personal pager system since it allows me to roam without worry and no one needs to announce my name. The front desk staff were professional and efficient with just the right amount of friendliness. I had about a 3 – 5 minute wait until I was paged. Dr. Nelson and his techs were very accommodating, extremely patient with all of my questions (I was VERY nervous about the procedure) and explained everything he was doing (I was lying on my stomach and couldn’t see). He and his techs did an EXCELLENT job and I’m not even sure if I’ll have a scar. I really appreciated the techs distracting me with conversation during the procedure.
I don’t know about the other doctors there, but if I need to see a dermatologist again or another procedure, I will definitely go back and see Dr. Nelson.
Everything from the minute I walked in to the minute I walked out was outstanding.

I used cascade regularly for years. then switched. and after an insurance switch came back.
Dr. Harris must be getting kick backs from the daily eye lens manufacturers because she would keep pressuring me into them! i’ve been in acuvue oasis since 2006. the only lenses I’ve ever worn and I want to continue them! I’ve never ever had discomfort or problems.
I ordered some acuvue. now 10 months later I am out of lenses and tried to order more. According to Dr. Harris I can not re-​order acuvue because they «don’t fit well on your eye» BULL!!! dr. Harris wrote the prescription for dailies only!
On top of all of it, the customer service that I received was ZERO! they simply care not that I do not wear, never have worn, and do not want daily lenses!

The doctors and receptionists are rude… I scheduled an appointment today and the woman I spoke with on the phone was my breaking point. I am calling to cancel my appointment tomorrow and go to another dermatologist in the area, who has a 4 star rating on Unilocal.I don’t like being talked to like I’m an idiot… I would not recommend this clinic to anyone.
