Had an estimate with him for home security. He sent an estimate and told me we could work out the details after trying to sell me the latest and greatest. When I responded with additional questions and attempts to lower the price based on removing some components I did not need he disappeared. After reading the rest of these reviews I am going to chat with someone else instead.

I, too, bought a home theater system from Video Only. I was referred to Mr. Baxter by them as well. Initially, he was very available, and helpful while we were discussing options and additional equipment. He said he’d be available for any equipment/useage questions my wife or I may have later. Prior to the installation time, I was called into work, leaving my wife to supervise the install. She said while Tyler was installing the system he received several calls, had to leave twice and gave her a very expedient ‘tutorial’ on how to use the equipment. During the installation, Tyler said he encountered a problem with my subwoofer. He also said it was an easy fix, but didn’t have the part on him at the time. Fair enough, but he completely abandoned the sub and it’s installation. Lastly, my wife wanted me to see his work before paying him in full,(we had paid a $ 600 deposit) especially since he ignored the subwoofer and a few other installation issues. He insisted on a check then and there. He did 90% of the work, yet insisted on 100% payment. I’ve written several e-mails and called Tyler to finish the job and received only a one sentence reply. Beware! Mr. Baxter will disappear like a ghost as soon as your check clears! I’m disappointed, but fair; Tyler’s quality is there, but he will do the bare minimum as fast as possible and he’s off to the next job! If you don’t believe me, see his BBB rating… an ‘F’ as of my writing this review. His quality is 4 stars, but with his non-existent customer service and minimum quantity of work, Mr. Baxter gets two stars… If you still insist on using him, make sure you’re 100% satisfied and understand your equipment before you pay! Otherwise you’ll never hear from him again. *Update as of 3/12/13* Mr Baxter e-mailed me about finishing the installation last week. I informed him I’d taken care of the subwoofer issue and finished it myself, but wanted the other installation issues addressed. As of now, I’m still awaiting a response.

Tyler Baxter is nothing short of being incredibly unprofessional. He did not like the brutal honesty of my earlier review and went to Unilocal crying about it. So Unilocal has managed to not make my review searchable. Typical Unilocal, which is why they are really losing their reputation for this type of business behavior. If a customer is NOT allowed to post an honest review when the business has cost a person additional fees over and above the contract terms… then Unilocal should allow us to WARN people about this business. Consider yourselves warned about using Tyler Baxter. I have damage to my home, have speakers installed in my home that have no bass, was talked into paying for things he has never shown me how to use and disappears like a puff of white lightening as soon as he cashes your check. Good luck getting him back on the phone to either finish his work or to listen to your concerns. I paid $ 700 for a harddrive and software that he has never shown me how to use. I have $ 300 worth of damage to my formal dining room. I paid $ 60 in additional software for the $ 700 harddrive that is worthless. I paid $ 1000 in home installed speakers that have NO bass. It has been one thing after another with this guy. Consider yourselves warned. He actually bragged to me once about how he ran his competition out of town. Video Only in Tacoma LOVES to recommend him for their TV installation. Which, the best part of him is that he installed my 70″ plasma and $ 2k theater surround sound perfectly. Just don’t have him do ANYTHING else. you will be kicked in the teeth.
