The homemade cole slaw is fantastic as are their generous hoagies. Good customer service. Wish they offered fresh Italian stick bread for sale.

Cheesesteaks are AMAZING! Plus this little general store has lots of vintage candies and unique bottled sodas. Think Cracker Barrel, but better. Food prep time takes a little extra time, but it’s a popular place, especially on a Friday night.

We happened to be in the area to hike Apple Pie a Hill and decided to try this place out based on Unilocal’s recommendations. The shop had a small seating area and a large selection of snacks, drinks and of course sandwiches. The variety of snacks offered was incredible, most of them individually packaged by the shop by weight so the snacks were a bit to pricey. They offered snacks like chocolate covered Swedish fish, toffee covered cashews, and salted Carmel pretzels. They had a large variety of deli sandwiches from chicken salad to Philly cheese steaks. The ordering system was via a touch screen the only downside was that you had no idea what the price was until after you clicked it so we’re were constantly deleting things after we saw an extra charge(ex. Gluten free roll extra $ 2, hot peppers $ 0.50) it would have been a lot more convenient to know the charge prior to selection.

This is an amazing find. The staff and owners are extremely pleasant. The food is well portioned and very tasty. Wait to to get food can get a little long but that is to be expected during rush hours. Overall one of my favorite places to eat.

I don’t live in Tabernacle but I come here a lot for sandwiches. Admittedly their cheesesteaks are a tad expensive but they’re tasty. The real attraction for me though is their soda collection. They have a whole assortment of sodas, from name brands to gourmet to obscure.

Heard about these cheesesteaks and decided to order a couple. I saw the menu and was taken aback buy the prices. $ 12.50 for a cheesesteak hoagie!!! With tax that’s over $ 13 for a 12 inch cheesesteak with a little bit of lettuce tomato and onions. That’s too much. I called and asked why it was so expensive. The girl made it sould like there was a massive amount of steak and cheese and that a 12 inch was enough for 2 people. OK, now I understand. So I ordered one for me and another for my father-in-law figuring that we’d both have 2 meals each. When we got them, they really weren’t as big as the girl said. Both of us ate our whole 12 inch sandwiches easily. My goto place for cheesesteaks has always been Gaetano’s, so that’s what I’m going to compare to. They have more meat than Nixon’s does and they’re just as good. I would say the only difference is the amount of cheese. Nixon’s uses more cheese for sure. Was it good? Sure it was good. Was it $ 13 good? No. I’d price it more at $ 9.50 before tax. They seem to have a cult following in the area, so if they can sell at their prices, then good for them. Just my 2 cents. I give 3 out of 5 because of the prices They’re just too high. I’d be a weekly regular if they were lower.

Great food! I wish they would train the kids making the subs better or it would be 5stars– 3 out of 10 times my order gets messed up, and that’s after I make the person in front repeat my order! LOL it’s not the end of the world but it’s a delight when it’s right! Great food nixons!!! :)

There is nothing bad here, the beverage selection is awesome, and the family run service is out of this world. Go for the jalapeño poppers !!!

Special are the days I get a hoagie or a cheese steak from Nixon’s General Store, Tabernacle, NJ. All my out-of-state friends go crazy when I tell them clearly the Best hoagies and cheese steaks come from Nixon’s. No others come close. Keep up the excellence, Nixon’s!

Best Cheesesteaks ever. These steaks are every bit as good as anything you’ll get in Philadelphia. Even better than most. When the family comes home from college this is the place they want to go to get their cheesesteak fix. Tip: Call ahead or order online to have your order ready in advance. :)

The food here definitely deserves 5 stars– awesome quality. I’ve never had a bad sandwich/meal from here. However, I’m reviewing with 3 starts overall because the service is horrible and the wait times for food is absolutely ridiculous. Every time I go, I have waited almost an extra 30 minutes longer than the original time. So I hope in the future they improve service/speed, bc then they would definitely get 5 stars from me.

Delicious fresh tasting hoagies. The steaks are good-but over priced $ 13.00. The owners can be very snarkey and rude-they need to chill and lose the attitude.

We love Nixon’s! We’ve always had good service and really good food. 4 stars only because a few times we were there before closing — half hour maybe? And the grill was already closed

It’s a little quiet town with about 5 buildings which sum up downtown Tabernacle, but wow do they have a great deli, it’s a small place that packs a punch. The local town folk seem to go there all the time too. It always has 4 – 5 people in it at all times of the day. Also the shop’s been there since the 1800’s, makes it a little historical tour too. Fantastic Sandwiches and the staff are friendly. They give you these coupons whenever you order a sandwich, get 15 of them and you get 5 dollars off for one sandwich. Also, they’ve been voted Burlington Counties best place to get sandwiches and hoagies. They are also known for overstuffing their sandwiches. Definitely would recommend people getting a sandwich and if you love roasted pork, get the roasted pork with provolone cheese and sweet/hot peppers. If you think a 6″ or 12″ long sub/hoagie is not enough to fill you up, you can grab a side from the refrigerator in the front or the back, ranging from cold redskin potato salad to some pasta salad. Also the shop’s been there since the 1800’s, makes it a little historical tour too.
